  I actually found the problem. He was not with the password Bios "Fireport" itself, but the Wyse keyboard accompanying the Thin Client Z90D7.

  The keyboard has a manufacturing defect which depresses the key 'G' each time you press the button "T". A drop test good with the keyboard, released what was causing the problem, and I'm back in business...

  What does not work?  If the old drivers do not work in compatibility and there is no win 8 drivers on Lenovo you can be out of luck.

  BIOS of my laptop is way out of date.  I downloaded the last being, but the update failed. The reason seems to be that the BIOS is locked i.e. modifications are disabled. It doesn't seem to be a BIOS password so I can enter the fine BIOS settings, but no changes can be made. The laptop works very well in many ways, it would be nice to have updated. The same problem exists with the on-board controller program that I downloaded it, too. Any ideas, please? (I'm under XP Home SP3) Thank you.

  What you have on this machine, it's probably a supervisor password. That's why you can get, but can't make changes.

  Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.

  If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

  I bought broke ProBook 6540 b for parts on eBay. Managed to fix the card mother, added a drive hard, but cannot open the BIOS to set the configuration.

  What can I do to unlock it? There is a service of HP that does this?

  Choose the flash drive, and then click RESTORE.

• HP netbook: Bios Lock

  I have a HP netbook with an upgrade of Windows 8 corrupt (not sure if it was an update 8.1 or 10 upgrade) to a bootloop permament since a few weeks now.  I try to activate my USB optical drive but BIOS seems to be locked, even though he was never a lock of the bios set up.  The code it generated on system disabled screen is 85777427.  Thank you!
