  Steps to follow after you have reset the password:

  1. Use the posted above unlock code to access the BIOS
  2. Disable all passwords that are enabled
  3. If current password request - type the unlock code
  4. New password, simply press the ENTER key
  5. Repeat the same thing to check the password column.
  6. Then exit the BIOS saving & exit option to save the changes.

  Troubleshooting steps:

  Incase if the password does not work please try a Hard Reset as follows.

  1. Shut down the laptop
  2. Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery
  3. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds
  4. Plug the power supply/AC adapter (leave the battery for now) & start Notepad
  5. If now see you a password, please enter the same password I've shared before and press on enter

  Look in the box that was delivered with your PC being used and if the owner had created a Windows 8 password resets a USB flash drive or CD.

  If password reset media are not available, use external recovery support HP which should have been created on DVD or USB stick. You have the external HP recovery support?  Before using the HP recovery media, be sure to boot into the bios and disable secure boot and turn on legacy mode.

  If you don't have the external HP recovery media that her you should be able to start in the HP Recovery Manager and create the recovery media if it has not been previously created.

  If the tips above are not viable, then contact HP support and ordering a set of HP recovery disks.

  After doing a "refresh" of the Recovery Manager, now when I turn on the screen, I get the screen saver. I click twice and he's going to another screen that displays the image of a figure with the word 'administrator', there is no place to enter a password.  If I click on the image, it says "your account has been disabled.  See your system administrator.  How do an administrator password screen?  Also, I suppose they ask the original password that I entered.
