Reading of fluctuation thermocouple k type

I'm new to Labview please anyone can help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to read the temperature using thermocouple type K with a NI 9213 module in Labview.

I used two individual channels.  One is the ambient air temperature.

The second is one is inside the PVC piping Assembly read the temperature of the air flow which also has moisture.

Ambient air temperature reading is working perfectly fine.

Reading the inside of PVC piping is fluctuating.  The temperature varies randomly between 4-7 degrees Celsius.

My question is what causes this fluctuation of reading.  Is - this air flow inside the tube.  Vibration?  Moisture?  CYC?

Please help someone?

Thank you very much in advance

    Hello

Open the keithley 2000 and in the lvlib project in public, you will find the tree.vi.

Inside is a configuration vi for themocouple measures

extend the case in the example simple reading if this is used (also extend selection) and see what happens.

  • SAM 5200-701 reads DVDs but not any type of CD...

I'm in a bit of confusion here and hoping for a little help.

Yesterday I installed the latest update of the BIOS for the 5200 701 of this Web site (such as recommended by a tech note I read about installing linux) all is well and everything seemed fine. Until I tried to use the built in player TEAC DW-224th to read a CD. It seemed to try several times to rotate the disc upward but was constantly looking for. In the end, it is not turn up, but the orange light comes on.

I tried CDR CDRW and regular CD. None worked and none of my bootable CD's would work (so it is not a windows problem).

However the DVD works fine first time in windows or boot my linux CD.

I bought the pc several years ago and now out of warranty so all suggestions appreciated.

If there is no known solution so I need to find a repair company in the area of Reading in England.

    Thanks in advance.

The following was copied/pasted from http://secunia.com/advisories/40766/

    Description
Charlie Miller has discovered a vulnerability [criticism] in Adobe Reader / Acrobat, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

Vulnerability is due to an integer overflow error in CoolType.dll during the analysis of the value of the 'maxCompositePoints' field in table 'maxp' (profile Maximum) of a TrueType font. This can be exploited to memory corrupted via a PDF file containing a specially designed TrueType font.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in Adobe Reader versions 8.2.3 and 9.3.3 and Adobe Acrobat version 9.3.3. Other versions may also be affected.

  • thermocouple reading limited to a value

    Hello

I'm new here and don't know much about Labview.

T type thermocouples are connected to the SCXI-1000 chassis with 1102 module and 1303. I use 20 channels and 12 are left open. For open channels, the Labview program is around 139oC.  However, the temperature measured in these busy channels cannot exceed this temperature, no matter how hot I heated the test surface.

Is it because of the Labview program or the resistance of the inside of the 1303 or any other possible reason?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Johnrally,

    By '139oC' do you mean 139 ° C, 1390 ° C or something else?

1390 ° C is well outside the range of type T temperature thermocouples according to NIST. However, it is close to the upper limit for the thermocouples of type k are you sure that your program is to specify the correct thermocouple type?

If this does not answer your question, thanks to post a code snippet to show how your program. Also, I recommend double-checking the SCXI configuration in MAX, to make sure the SCXI-1303 module is configured correctly (and it is not configured as an SCXI-1300 module).

  • Playback issues of Thermocouples a 9214 in EtherCAT 9144 chassis

I have an SMU-1078 chassis with an SMU-8135 controller and chassis EtherCAT 9144 with multiple C-modules, including a couple of 9213 9214, running Veristand 2014 and 2014, inertia. I updated last week so I think I have the latest updates for the hardware and software.

The problem I encounter is that I can read my Type K thermocouples with Thermocouple 9213 modules, but when I connect them to the Thermocouple 9214 module, I see only TC0 change and the rest of the TC 9214 channels are 0 ° c. tried to use high speed and high resolution modes, but no difference. I also moved the module in slot 8 in the EtherCAT chassis, also without success. Then I moved the 9214 with its connector and thermocouples to another machine with a chassis cDAQ in 9188XT and I have read all the thermocouples with NI MAX. This proves that the module is working and that the module connections are good.

I need to use the 9214 because of his ability to handle the higher common mode voltages. I need help. Please, I beg you.

    Thank you in advance

    Richard

It ended up that I had to download the last update, 14.0.1 for the NOR-RIO. This solves the problem. I did have to reinstall Veristand, Labview, or any other driver.

Thank you very much for your answers.

  • Thermocouple readings of the CRIO

    Hello

I am fairly new to work with Compact RIO and I have problems with thermocouples that I have connected. My Setup has two modules of thermocouple in the NI 9213, NI 9211.

I have connected a Type K thermocouple (one of each) both of the units. I used the vi FPGA target for reading from the Thermocouple channels as well as the CJC values and put two modules. I also CRIO vi which reference the FPGA vi, and then uses the values and feeds them to the "voltage convert to Temperature.vi. I've attached screenshots of the vi.

The problem is the output I get is - 2 or 1 degree. When I touch the thermocouple increses value to about 5 or 8 degrees.  The room temperature is about 24 degrees.

Can someone please help with where I'm wrong.

    concerning

    Bastien.

Yes, it's the bad VI to be used with CompactRIO.  I'm not 100% sure why this does not work, but I don't know that the scaling VI that you use is designed to be used with NOR-DAQ, not CompactRIO.  Please open the examples for your modules to see the correct way to the scale of the CompactRIO thermocouple data.  I hope that these scaling methods will work for you.  You should find the examples here:

    C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\examples\CompactRIO\Module Specific\

This is the best advice I can give you, unfortunately.  If you need more detailed help, maybe someone on the forum knows more what to do about the scale of the data of thermocouples cRIO in degrees celsius.

  • Scaling of voltage of the thermocouple before voltage to temperature conversion

    Hello

I have a module of data USB-6211 acquisition entry with Labview 8.6, and I will measure temperatures using a type R thermocouple.  Because this thermocouple voltages are very small (about 0-20 mV), I'll use an external amplifier (50 x gain) to transform the signal to 0-1 V, then read the entries using the module of data acquisition.

At this point, I can divide the signal by my (x 50) gain and use inverse polynomials for thermocouples of type R (published online: http://www.omega.com/temperature/z/pdf/z198-201.pdf) to convert pressure into a temperature.

However, I noticed that Labview has built in thermocouple modules.  There is a stage of creation of task, and the task is sent to a module that allows me to specify the thermocouple type, value CJC etc, then a sample clock, then a sampler with analog wafeform (see below).  I would use this structure, rather than coding in polynomials.   However, I can't find a way to divide my my (x 50) gain input voltage in order to give the thermocouple module reasonable voltage values.

Is there a simple way to do this, or I'm better just a coding in polynomials?

    Thank you!

Amplify the signal, read the voltage, then divide by 50.

No need to code polynomials.  Search for pallets for the Subvi convert Thermocouple Reading.VI

  • Control of data using multiple thermocouples via indicators and the waveform in real-time

I apologize in advance for this question is probably a bit simple but I'm all new to labview and the forum and could use some advice. I have a CompaqDAQ with two 9213 16 modules of track and I'm trying to read in 30 thermocouples in a waveform, but also display 30 indicators so I can mark each indicator with the thermocouple for real-time tracking. Each thermocouple corresponds to a specific location and it is essential that the interface has an accurate indication or a label for each of them. I wonder if there is an easy way to do this in addition to split the signal and have 30 thermometers on my diagram? Perhaps a table any? If I use a table to create 30 thermometers, the DAQ assistant automatically sorts the thermocouples according to ascending numerical order. For example, would be the indicators of first and second on my interface automatically assigned to channels a0 and a1 of the first module, or should I do it manually? Even for the waveform?  Thank you very much!

PS - Do not know if this message had need of more details, but let me know if more information is needed, and I'll give you!

I see that you use the DAQ Assistant to create your task.  Now I understand why you may have about labelling.  It is easy of the seller NOR spiel booting...  But in any case, you already have a task to the MAX instead of use the DAQ Assistant?  The interface is similar and there may be a step or two, but your end application will be more effective and you will have more options with your data and properties.  For example, I tried to update the names of physical channel in the DAQ Assistant installation program, that it let you do, but it propagates that change forward to waveform chart legend.  Also, I don't know any property for this dynamic data type node, although I never use it either.  I suggest the setting up of your task and channels, Max if you'd give it a go.

Since I thought I didn't really takes you all the way with you help, I wrote another one.  It uses a cluster, even if it's a bit barbaric.  I thought that there was a more eloquent way to do by changing labels, but I could not it works as I had expected.

  • Thermocouple different calibrations; Same advice

I have an equipped SMU-1073 of 5 channel thermocouple modules 32 SMU-4353.  The original design intent was to use thermocouples of type J.  We just got a part with installed T type thermocouples.  Is it possible to read the two type T and J of a single card?  If they were on separate committees could read you each screws daqmx?

    Thank you.

    MeCoOp,

It is possible with the VI DAQmx as long as they use the same timing engine. The way to do it would be using an additional 'DAQmx create Virtual Channel VI', but with different parameters. You would all thermocouple type J in the first chain to create and all thermocouples of type T in the second string of creation. I have attached a picture below that will explain the method you need to do.
