You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

  • Error copying file or folder: cannot read the source file or disk.

My problem occurs when you try to copy on the same computer I am on (or to a remote drive).  I get one of these messages in the dialog "error copying file or folder.

    box:

Impossible to copy 'Filename': data error (cyclic redundancy check).
Impossible to copy 'Filename': cannot read the source file or disk.

    Hey Norton victim,

    (a) what is your operating system?
    (b) what program file you are not able to copy?

As the files are copied, Windows verifies that the data that has been copied are the same as the source files. The cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error occurs when the copied data does not match the original.

This could be down to a mistake of the DVD, the disc goes wrong and has failed to 'read' the file properly or the file was placed on a bad sector on your hard drive. (Could be just down to a scratch or some marks on the dvd, maybe clean it if necessary and try again).

I would run a check disk (CHKDSK) against the drive to rule that, although lacking - you have another dvd player to try the disc again? If so, try the dvd in another drive, or even a completely different machine to try to pin-point the problem.

At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    Chkdsk /r

Note: If bad sectors are detected when running check disk utility and attempt recovery of bad sectors is verified during the verification of the drive for errors, data in the bad sector can be lost as they tried to recover bad sectors.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

From your problem description, I understand that you are unable to transfer files from an external drive on another drive. Please let me know if this isn't the problem that you are experiencing.

Before troubleshooting, I have little information on the issue.

    1. Do you receive any error or display message?
    2. Did you recent hardware or modifications to the software on the computer before this problem?

Try the methods and then check after each method:

Method 1: Transfer files from a drive to the location on the desktop or a temporary folder and then try to transfer them to the destination disk.

Note: make sure the free space on the disk in the destination drive.

    Method 2: Run the Fixit:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_file_and_folder_diag/

Method 3: Disconnect your player safely, and restart the computer. And then try to transfer the files.

If the problem persists, post your reply with results and questions above. We are happy to help you further in the advanced troubleshooting steps!

I had been until now update without any problems for Business Catalyst. Is it possible that muse is trying to delete a file that he placed on Business Catalyst? No file to muse on my server is, of course, since this is the first time that I have download here.

I am downloading to a specific folder and write it like that/var/www/directory

The port is the standard sftp (22)

  • Error copying file or folder

    Hello

I tried to copy and open an Excel file from a floppy disk 3,5 '' diskette in Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3.
I get the following error message: "error copying file or folder: can not copy the MEASUREMENTS: cannot read the source file or disk.»

What is the problem with this Excel file? This file is corrupt?

A lot of help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Sincerely,
    Egan

Yes, the file is probably corrupted. Diskettes - now an obsolete middle - are fragile and often unusable. You can try the disk in the computer of a friend to see if it is readable. If this is the case, copy the file on hard drive of the friend and from there to a USB key. If the disk is not readable in the friend's computer, throw it away. I haven't had any changes consciously, and the games do not work in any user account.  When I've done sfc/scannow (command prompt) he said that I was not the administrator.  I could learn from another source to solve this problem - in the start menu, right click on the command prompt icon, and then click Run as administrator.  Hope everybody help with this problem.  If you do not have command prompt in your Start menu, any type of command prompt in your search box and it should appear.

  • Can not install the printer due to the error this file contained a virus

I am running Windows Vista 64-bit and trying to install a HP Photosmart 3210xi printer.  I get an error "AIO_CDB_Full_Network_enu_NB_exe" contained a virus and was deleted.  Under Security Essentials, there is no virus and I need a way to solve this problem.  Not an advanced computer user, so I need some basic answers I can fix myself.  Thank you.

You are installing from an installation CD?

There is a download of HP support

The file download is simillar to the error you receive. You need to download only on manufacturer support site.

Or you can try Vista for HP Photosmart 3200 series driver:

Go to control panel of configuration, printers, double-click Add printer, choose a local or network printer click Next, choose a printer port click Next in the Add Printer window, under manufacturer select HP, under printers down scroll and select HP Photosmart 3200 series. Continue with the installation and follow the instructions.

I have a BB Flip 8220 and try to use Outlook Express as my Contacts Organizer.  I started Outlook express 'vanilla' and have only a folders in Outlook Express.  I have 34 files in my BB Contacts.  When I run synchronize (and again, I am doing this one way, the Express for BB) I get the error "Unable to read application data", "Treatment device address book", "Label 34 of 34 Records".

I read a lot of threads.  I checked the RIM.log file and it said one-way synchronization.  Clues on how to solve this problem?  I'm on Desktop 4.6, I have to go to 4.7?

    Please notify.

    Thank you.

Well, I solved the problem.  What I did was run a backup using the desktop mgr software, I then ran a restore, but I used the advanced option so that I could open the ipd backup file and select just the database of contacts and push than my computer to the device (using the copy button of right arrow in the middle of the Advanced window thingy).  I restarted and then sync and it WORKED!

Do the backup and the restore must have fixed the file corrupted on my phone.  Wonderful.  I was nervous, but it worked well jst.
