REALLY weird Y570 screen problem. Video card problem?

So I have a lenovo y570, and during random times of the day, my screen ends up looking like this.

http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/4519/weirdscreen.PNG

Now, once that I clic click on the screen, scroll upwards or downwards or refresh the page, the image disappears, so this isn't a serious problem, its all just annoying. I have already updated the video card driver and uninstalled mcafee (who got rid of other problems that I had), but this problem still remains. Any suggestions?

Hi Thaibo,

weird display can be caused by a bug in the browser Google Chrome .

Please try a different browser e.g. Firefox or IE.

I tried to fix a weird text problem in a new InDesign document.

Behavior: When I hit enter at the end of a line, it gives me a jump page instead of a newline behavior. All the following text is presented on the next page.

Installation: I have created a group of text boxes (simple script, wall of text, no images), lie on several pages and active the text stream. Then I placed the text via the import command. This is a.doc file and checked, the text it contains is behaving properly. I turned on "View hidden characters" and are all it shows end of paragraphs. Even the place where to get the odd page break, it shows only paragraph. I tried to play with the styles of character, paragraph styles, pipette, formatting of tool... nothing works. This problem appears in several chapter headings in the document, but not all.

  • Upgrade the video card on Satellite X 200-20 g

    Hello everyone

I'll find a way to have my 8700M GT updated on my X 200 laptop.
I paid for it more than 2000 and I paid for 2 years warranty.
A few months later, I discovered that some of the new Toshiba are equipped with 9700 m GTS!

I know that the X 200-20 G is having a mxm graphics card which is removable to be upgraded (not being is not part of the motherboard).

I couldn't find anywhere in the Toshiba site, where I can ask to buy a new graphics card, or if I can send my laptop and ask for an upgrade price.
I suppose someone who has paid a sum of money for Toshiba can be listened to, or get a special offer to swap its model to the newest one after even not a year of use.

I really want to upgrade the video card, and I don't really know where to find advice or information about it, other than on the side of Toshiba.

Thanks to everyone or admin, to let me know how I should do, or process.

    Kind regards

  • Alienware 14 screen and video update?

New to this forum, but not new Alienware products. I know that some things are extensible and others do not. My question:

Of the 14 Alienware (2013) can screen and video cards be improved for the full HD, or am I stuck with the WLED display with 1366 x 768. I'm sure that the video card can be improved to the GT 756 m. I have the 750 m from there now.

The Intel HD 4600 is the part of the processor. The GT 750 m is soldered on the motherboard. The iGPU (Intel) is to save energy on the battery, and the dGPU (750 m) is for energy, as for games.

  • Need video card update

How can I tell what type of video card is compatible with my laptop (HP Pavilion ze5700)? I have an ATI RS200M Radeon IGP 345 M and I know that I can't update. I decided not to get another laptop right now and I would like to upgrade this laptop as much as possible. If you need more information, please let me know. Thanking you in advance for your help and information.

Unfortunately, not really. There are external video cards, but they cost about as much as a new laptop. Also they do not type game video most of the time; they are designed to add the ability to use a third-party monitor or a fourth. External solutions pretty powerful little require an expresscard slot, which you don't have.

  • video card and the black screen problems.

Hello world! My desk top compaq presario sr1411nx don't seem to support a video card, I've recently tried

to install. I put the card in one of the three open slots connected to the motherboard, and it seems to fit very well.

The operating system I have is a Microsoft Windows XP Edition family version 2002 service pack 3, Celeron (R) CPU 2.80 ghz, 248 MB of ram.

The graphics card is an ATI Radeon X1300PCI 256 MB. After I installed the card the following continues to happen.

I turn the hard drive and follow on. The windows start menu back to the top.

A message box appears telling me to close all programs. Restart the computer if the installation of the video card

    can be updated and completed.

I then, restart the computer. After that I'm doing it just a black screen and white pointer popup. As I move the mouse

There is no beep sounds. Browser menu and start the internet windows does not load upward.

I then remove the video card and restart the computer and everything works fine.

Question: What could be the cause, and I can fix it?

  • HP Pavilion 500-314: big problems by adding an external video card

    You are looking for assistance.

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 500-314.  Specifications are the following:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04293928

The unit includes the integrated graphics card Radeon R7 and comes with a 300w power supply

I bought this unit in large part because it states explicitly that "supports PCI Express x 16 graphics cards".  I run a quad-monitor configuration for my work and traditionally did it this using a card ATI over-pants 2450.

I tried now three different external graphics cards and can get any of them to work:

First attempt was with a VisionTec Radeon HD 5570 (point #900345).  This card supports quad-monitor configuration and requires a minimum power of 250w.  When I installed the card, the HP Pavilion beeps several times a series of 4 or 5 (can't remember which) emits a beep, but refused to send an image to a video output (either on board or the new card).

Next attempt was with an EVGA GeForce GT 610.  It's a Setup dual monitor and requires a minimum 300w power supply.  Got the same exact response as with the VisionTec (i.e. the series of beeps... computer would not start all monitors).

So both of these cards (new), I basically gave up immediately that I couldn't in the BIOS (b/c wouldn't monitors) to see what was going on.  My understanding is that the series of 4-5 beeps usually means that there is a problem of graphics card, or the card that was added doesn't have enough power.  It's frustrating, because the HP Pavilion 500-314 a supposedly a 300w power supply, which is at least equal to the minimum required for each of these cards.

At this point, I took out the ATI over-pants 2450 my old machine and tried.  This card at least has not caused the series of 4-5 beeps.  Windows has started.  However, once I log in, Windows tries to install the new (card over-pants) repeatedly, only then, the screen flashes and blinks and flashes.  Then I went into the BIOS.  The BIOS indicates that the system recognizes the card, and that the integrated video has been disabled.  However, there is always a signal coming out of the onboard video output (DVI), so it is not in fact actually disabled.  My feeling is that Windows is trying to control two separate video cards (edge + external), which is what causes the problems.  I can turn off the graphics card over-pants w/under Windows (in Safe Mode) and let the card installed, and things work fine.  However, as soon as I try and activate the card, I get endless cycle flashing monitors.

I spent a few long sessions with HP technical support and they were useless.  They claim that this is not a problem of HP as the embedded video works fine.  I find this extremely frustrating response.  I think it is a matter of HP, because BIOS doesn't seem to be properly disable the onboard video.  Not to mention that the PC can't seem to properly interface with Windows compatible 8 PCI-E cards that claim explicitly require less energy than this unit has.

I'm usually pretty computer savvy, but have reached my wits end on this one.  I'd appreciate any help anyone could provide.  I tried all kinds of combinations of variables (i.e. enabling integrated video, setting external card at the elementary level, etc.) through the BIOS, but also combinations of w/under Windows, disable integrated video, but nothing is working.

    Big_Dave,

Thanks a lot for your quick response.

The first time that I spoke with HP support, they had me disable secure boot.  Unfortunately my problems (i.e. the cards would not install correctly).  However, after reading the link you provided that I was inspired to try things one last time with a new beginning.  I uninstalled all drivers, removed all cards, re-engaged start-up secured, restarted, close, disabled secure boot, reinstalled the cards and rebooted.  And, this time, the system accepts the card GeForce GT 610.

Difficult for me to express how grateful I am to you.  I spent two weeks and countless hours trying to get this corrected.  Just I found these forums earlier wish.

    Thank you!

    Hello

You can try to reinstall or update the graphics drivers. This is an update to the Intel Expressdrivers.

Have you tried a system restore point before the appearance of this problem?

Another option is to save your data, you need and make a recovery of the plant using the partition recovery or your recovery disks.

Finally, if all fails to correct the problem, you can add a discreet graphics card.

He will need a card low profile capable of running on a 180 Watt power supply.

Here are some discrete graphics card options, your PC has offered to purchase:

    GeForce 7300LE

    GeForce 8300GS

    GeForce 8400GS

    GeForce 7500LE

  • Lenovo G510 video card problem

Hello! For some time, I have a few problems with the graphics card on my laptop. When I try to launch a game using the AMD graphics card by going to "Switchable Graphics", the game does not work, I mena I can hear background noise of the game, but the screen is black. When I switch to Intel graphics card the game works perfectly.

When I go to Device Manager, I see the graphics card Intel and AMD. But when I use FurMark I only see the Intel graphics card, which is the only one that works.

When I run TechPowerUp GPU - Z I get an error telling me to update my OPENCL and my video card driver.

    Any ideas, please?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Just remove Intel and AMD graphics drivers in Device Manager and of course be sure to remove the respective graphics software too (can be made in programs and features, found in Control Panel)

First install Intel Graphics driver, then install AMD graphics driver on the respective support of your OS site.

And do not update your Intel of Windows Update drivers and or directly from the site Web of AMD.

It is best to install drivers from manufacturer as they can be adapted to our machines.

  • HP Slimline problem with video card?

    Hello

I got a Slimline s3020n for a few years and have never had a problem with it. A few days ago when I turned it on there is no picture on the monitor except the box that is displayed when you turn it on and it says: "no signal". I plugged into another computer to the screen to see if the monitor was the problem and it worked fine. I swapped the hard drive thinking that might work, but still had the same problem. All lights turn on and it seems that everything works (hard drive, fans) which leads me to think, maybe it's a problem with the video card. My question is if you have advice on what could be the problem and I think that the video card is integrated into the motherboard, so I have to replace the whole motherboard to fix this. Thank you.

    -Chris

    Chris,

Your PC has built-in video on the motherboard.  If it is simply a matter of graphic, a low profile card could be added to the system.   However, you can view the following link - depending on when you purchased your product - you may qualify for an extended warranty - the problem, he describes sounds similar to what you mentioned.  I found this on the page of the product of the s3020n, btw.
