I have this pc for 3 years.  My system was full of unused and unwanted programs, so I rebooted to Vista, deletted all my old files that Vista had moved into the "old." This is when I started having this disorder.

My first thoughts were video driver... downloaded the new drivers 3 times.  scanned all the other drivers for updates ect. nothing seems to help...

Removal of slow mail returned after a reboot in safe mode. Norton Anti-Virus analyzes e-mails to off, no help. After restarting in safe mode, it worked for about 2 days.

Let windows search not verified. However, I noticed many filters put in place by me to eliminate the unacceptable emails. Given that I erased these filters, it seems to work better. Sometimes slow, but for the most part better.

    Hello baby Chelley.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Answers forum! Your question is still there while inSafe Mode? If so, you try to run a SFC scan for troubleshooting the corrupted system files on your PC.

To perform a scan of the SFC, follow the steps on the following link: How to use the tool File Checker system to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or Windows 7

Your computer may also be infected and needs to be cleaned in order to work properly. I suggest that you try the steps listed in the related post below with your question:

  • Mode problem, freezes or crashes sleep when windows opens again

    Hello

The problem I have with the pavilion DV4-2145DX , approximately 12 months, using windows 7 is when I close the lid or put in "standby mode", now and then the window opens but the internet does not, nor all the other icons.

When I go to restart it, the closure does not work so I stop hard.

When it restarts all works well again.

When I shut down normally and re start the computer no problem at that time.

    Any ideas please.

  • Blue screen on reboot. Safe mode does not work...

When I try to start my computer, it displays a blue screen, no matter what I boot (hard disk, safemode, Recovery Manager). It still crashes and I get this message:

"A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error message. Restart your computer. If this screen appears again. Follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is installed correctly. If this is a new installation ask your hardware manufacturer or software of windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable the BIOS memory options such as the capture or the shading. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

  • Speedlite 580EX II E - TTL mode problem

    Hello

My speedlite has recently started to produce photos that are underexposed in E - TTL mode. Compared to the previous pictures, the difference is of about 2/3 - 1 full stop.

I have done a number of tests using my EOS 40 d and an EF 24-105 f4/L IS USM lens.

I used the fully charged batteries in the camera and speedlite (two alkaline batteries or NiMH in flash). I checked the exposure compensation and flash exposure compensation settings as well as all other parameters of the menu camera and custom in the speedlite and camera functions. Everything is in order and there is no conflict between the camera and the speedlite.

I shoot in RAW and as a test, I took a number of pictures in the manual, Tv and Av modes, both without flash and using the flash on the camera. All were well exposed (with no exposure or flash exposure compensation).

I tried recycling the speedlite to full power several times - time 5 seconds. Thus, it seems that the batteries were working well.

I then carried out a number of tests in the manual, Av and Tv modes at various shutter opening and ISO settings to compare flash shipped with the speedlite E - TTL mode performance. Each of the photos taken with the built-in flash has been well exposed with a good histogram. Each comparison with the speedlite photo is underexposed, with a bad histogram and reduced file size. With some tests, it was necessary to set the exposure compensation to + 2/3 to + 1 stop flash to achieve results globally comparable to the onboard flash.

However, this workaround solution produce satisfactory results for the subject distances over 20 feet, even at high ISO and long shutter speeds. The output of the speeedlite was much too low. These tests were done inside.

Then, I made tests with the speedlite in manual mode with all of the production in full. A range of shutter speeds, apertures and ISO settings photos were completely blown out. The same result was obtained with the speedlite in sync and manual high speed selected if the shutter speed is equal to or less than 1/250 second (max height available for the on-board flash shutter speed).

As a solution, I put the manual speedlite with sync high speed and set faster than 1/250 second shutter speeds and

tried the exhibitions at different distances from the object. In General, the sync high-speed kicks. I have not yet checked performance to subject more than 30 feet, but a comprehensive exhibition was obtained in all tests to date, (mostly better with flash exposure compensation of-1/3). However, according to the ambient light auto focus was sometimes impossible.

These tests, it seems that the device works well, the speedlite is capable of generating a full release and in manual/high-sync mode, it will produce a correct exposure with high shutter settings.

While the two workaround solutions - E - TTL mode with timing of compensation and flash exposure manual/high speed - work, some experiments are required and both have their drawbacks. There are moments where I would like to make with the speedlite in manual, but for the most part, I was pleased with the results in E - TTL mode and I want to be able to restore my speedlite complete state.

I wonder if anyone can shed light on fault (sensor/transistor?) and repair.

I'm sorry to have provided a lot of details, but I wanted to avoid unnecessary questions or solutions that I've tried. Any assistance from members who are aware of this problem would be greatly appreciated.

It is not a fault. It seems that if the flash does not work correctly.

You realize, not you, the ETTL flash works differently in mode to manual exposure, it does in the automatic exposure modes?

When you have the ETTL flash game and the camera to Tv or Av or P, the camera will expose by ambient light as if the flash is not there, and the flash is treated as a FILL light. The flash output is reduced by something like 1.5 or 1.7 stops full power, unless you overrided with + or - Flash Exposure Compensation.

When you have the flash in ETTL and Manual, the flash is FULL and processed by the camera, as if it were the only light source. The ambient light is ignored (but according to the selected parameters can still be a factor in your images). Once more, you can substitute with FEC, if you wish.

If I read your description, you see the difference between manual/FULL flash and AE/TTL. As long as you keep in mind these, you can configure the camera and flash in ETTL mode easily to many different situations.

You will notice that the flash often recycle much faster when it acts as a FILLER, because it is drawn to the decline in production. I often use the fill outdoors during the day and can get two or three 'pop' quick lightning before it slows down for recycling.

If you want the 580EX II to recycle faster, use of quality instead of alkaline batteries rechargeable batteries. For faster recycling, a CP - E4 battery pack is a nice addition. He added 8 AA plus size batteries that flash can appeal.

I never use the built-in flashes, so I don't really know how they compare.

  • Video Mode problems XP ' Safe Mode'

After you install a new motherboard, I have a problem with Safe Mode.

The PC has 2 hard drives, one with XP Home, & the other with XP Pro. One can be selected at boot time.

I have no problem with XP Home, so I know that the material is not at fault.

With XP Pro, I can boot into normal mode, without any issue.

However, if I try to boot XP Pro Mode safe mode, the monitor advises "Out of Range". On another monitor, the 'frequencies' appear as 35.5 H & 86.8V. These are not unusual.

Does anyone know how I can find/replace the video settings of the SafeMode in the registry or elsewhere? I looked at 'DefaultSettings.XResolution', etc. and can see several occurrences of the present, which seem legal. I've tried to set a "DefaultSettings.VRefresh" which had a value of 1, but this did not help.

I have also tried to change the resolution of the display properties/settings/advanced / "list all modes", but that did not always help.

    I am pretty well confused.

The only thing that occurs to me is the account that you have just installed a new motherboard is that perhaps you need to install or reinstall the drivers for your new mobo chipset.  See this thread:ttp://www.subwolf.org/v2/articles.php?article=1 h

As far as I KNOW, the pilot of SafeMode (vgasave) depends on vga.dll and vga.sys.  My understanding is if one of these files is missing or corrupted, the system will BSOD rather than running with screwy resolutions.  Windows file protection should have replaced these files, if something had happened to them, but you can try to expand the vga.sy_ and C:\Windows\servicepackfiles\i386 vga.dl_ or a Windows install CD and replace files in C:\windows\system32\drivers (vga.sys - vga.dll is in windows\system32).  I don't have much hope that this will help.

You can also try going to the menu Advanced Startup Options (F8 or Mode menu aka safe) and selecting "Enable VGA mode" to see what is happening.  "VGA" mode, the driver installed for the video card should be used instead of vga.sys.  http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222 if the mode 640 x 480 video card works for your display, more than one finger pointing at vga.sys.

  • my screen is black on vista won't reboot in safe mode or in any other way

Message from McAfee says that my computer was unprotected to solve this I used their virtual technician reconmended he found 4 fouls and said he would fix the (reconmened) when he said that they have set to restart my computer. Now, left with black screen, I can't start even in safe mode or any other method screen remains black. Is this the end of my computer?

Start the PC and immediately after passing keep hitting F8 (once per second). I hope that you will be presented with an option to repair your computer. Select this option and then you will see several repair options.

Use the system restore - make your PC back in time to before that this problem occurred. You may select to show older than the recommended restore points.

Do not confuse the system with a 'factory restore' restore which will wipe your hard drive, including data, before putting the PC back as it was when you took delivery. Such an option should be a last resort. If in doubt replica with the options in front of you. Details of your PC can help too (brand/model).

IMO you should abandon McAfee and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials. Your PC will be beneficial both in terms of performance and stability.
