Recipient is misspelled

On my Vista Mail, when the type in the first letter of the person to whom I address, address of the person is misspelled.  He is correct in the Contacts, but does not yet appear as a choice.  How can I get a correct address to appear? whdjr

The registry keeps the last 29 names used in the AutoComplete list. Remove the wrong address spelled the registry (and perhaps less used some), and then type a new message. Cancel that and it should appear correctly the next time.

  • That means red in the recipient field?

Sometimes when I'm composing outgoing e-mail, the address that I type in the recipient field appears in red, and sometimes it appears black. It is on Thunderbird 38.3.0, but it happened with the last several versions.

Initially I thought that Red means that the address is not valid as typed in, or (b) the address is valid, but not present in the address book. However, it seems now that red appears randomly and often enough, even if the message is a response (and I do not have the automatic collection of addresses on) or even if I know for sure that the address is displayed in my address book.

Can someone explain what color is it wants to say?

(Of course, now that I've raised the issue, I can not reproduce today to give you a screenshot. "But it happened).

Black - is in the address book.
Red - not in the address book.

Could be red if the address is not EXACTLY the same as in one of the books usual address, (not "Collected addresses" or 'All address books'). This feature can prevent the misspelling of an e-mail address,

There is also a problems bug report with the red text when you manually add an address in a window of writing. It's just a Visual thing, it does not prevent the message being sent. Just check out double for a misspelled address.

  • How can I disable AutoFill for a recipient name?

Inadvertently, I added an additional letter at the end of an E-mail address of the recipient. Now when I try to enter the correct name, autofill insists on adding the extra letter. How can I disable AutoFill?

AutoFill suggestions come from your address book. The misspelled address is almost certainly in a named collected addresses address book. Find, edit and move it to your default address book.

An easy way to find it would be to create a new message to the wrong address and save it as a draft. Open the message of project, click the yellow star next to the address, select Edit, and a dialog box appears, where you can change, delete, or move the Contact entry.

This facility is not available in Apple Mail. Some email clients are able to ask for a receipt when sending, but even then it depends on the recipient actually take the step of the return receipt - many won't bother.

The only thing you can do is instruct them always to answer one of your emails, even if only to say "received".

I think you have to use mail merge.

There, I discovered recently, a list address syntax to be used in the address line, which could be useful for you, but unfortunately Thunderbird does not support.

This happened while I was sending about #3 4 or 5 that I must send. Nothing I know has been changed has been changed! I have downloaded the latest version while I was in the program.

This seems to be a message from a server. The word 'host' is not clear to me. In the language of networking, it can mean your own computer, but more generally, it could mean your ISP provider or by e-mail.

Anyway, this means that something has decided that you are, or are on a network that has been identified as a source of spam. I suggest that ask you this from your ISP.

  • Why my messages are sent to the folder and no recipient

As I am computer illiterate and a little long in the tooth, I can't understand why, when I write an email it shows as "sent to the folder". The column to the right of the screen shows the time and the recipient but not the date of dispatch. Can someone help me with this please?

Borrowing at a time when we used paper.

When you send a business letter with a stamp, you kept a copy of the file. The sent folder is a copy of your file.

Regarding dates, Thunderbird guess you know, so for the mail today, it just uses the time. Tomorrow the same letter will give a date, because now it's history, so the date becomes relevant.

  • Delete an undisclosed recipient of ' to:

Using Apple Mail, I have created a form of Contact for recipients not disclosed and then deleted. However, all incoming emails to my iCloud account shows: to: unknown recipient.

    Hello

This is very probably a spam message. Basically an email (the two header / body) can be manipulated at will.

Whenever someone uses a BCC and email in their list to send bulk mailer as what you see in your window AS you had described it. The question therefore happens to all emails or some you are viewing mail.app?

  • When I try to send an email to multiple recipients, I get this message: "there are non-ASCII characters in the local part of the address of the recipient. This is not

I bought a new computer. When I try to send an e-mail to multiple recipients, now, I get this message: "there are non-ASCII characters in the local part of the address of the recipient. It is not yet supported. If please change this address and try again. "I don't know what are the non-ASCII characters, so I don't know what to do. I never had this problem on my old computer. Please explain in simple language.

The 'local' part in the context of email addresses, the part to the left of the symbol @. The warning is a bit of a surprise, because in general the owner of a mail server is relatively free to specify the address format. There is a movement to allow the games to other characters to be used in the fields, so I'm a little disappointed to see that, apparently, e-mail does not support the latter in the local part yet or it can be your SMTP server that generates this message.

ASCII characters ("American Standard Code for Information Interchange") are, on the whole, the English alphabet, uppercase and lowercase, as well as figures, common punctuation and case of things like the asterisks, obliques and media bars, but not of accented characters. But even apparently simple things like spaces and dashes have cousins who, at first glance, appear to be identical, but are not represented in the ASCII system. I am thinking especially nonbreaking spaces, dash and half-quadratin.

But I don't know why your new computer must have caused these warnings.

If you do not have the recipient displayed column you would need to do this first.
There is a small icon at the right end of the header bar. Click on that and select the columns to display.
