Recognizing the JPEG/RAW pairs on records

Hello

I shoot RAW + jpeg and would like to have a folder like this structure:

Photos-> year-> month-> events-> crude OIL

Photos-> year-> month-> events-> camera JPEG

Photos-> year-> month-> events-> JPEG Lightroom exported

I don't want to see the camera JPEG images in lightroom, but I don't want to keep them and store them in one place.

However, for the moment, causing me problems because lightroom can't match the Raw-jpeg pairs, once I have split them on both issues. So I get the jpeg and raw copy of each photograph imported separately. Is there a way to get around this? (I don't want to manually uncheck images JPEG whenever I sync my folders!)

So far, the best solution I can think of is to disable library > view folders in subfolders and then work in the subfolder Raw. But this isn't a very elegant solution because I still have duplicates and triplicates of everything in the catalog as a whole.

Are there solutions better?

I'm also curious to know how others organize their files.

Hi Pinkgiraffe101,

I have a few suggestions, which make use of Lightroom features rather than trying to force your way around them.

1 Lightroom allows you to import Raw and JPEG together, with an option in the preferences to consider them as separate files. This will bring them in the same folder, which shouldn't be a problem. Just use the filters (press the "------") to create a filter of metadata according to the type of file, and you can view only JPEG or just Raw or both.

2. it is rarely, if ever, have any need to import your "exported JPEG". So why do it? With the Raw file, you can still export a new JPEG anytime you need it, so why clutter up your drives and folders with these files? If you need to keep different versions of color treatments, different cultures, sizes etc., how to do, it is by creating a virtual copy, which takes next to no space in the catalog and none on the disc. Once again, with filters, you can quickly refine your view to show only the virtual Copies if you wish.

I hope that gives you some ideas.

  • Restore the settings the Camera Raw?

    Hi guys

Is there a way I can find the settings I chose when I open an image in camera raw?

I need to apply the same color settings, other photos, but as soon as you have opened an image after editing in camera raw, theres no back.

Is there a way to get around this?

    Thank you

    Kay

Your original raw file is absolutely preserved intact.  When you open it, Photoshop brings the image into RAM and when you save it, it saves a copy of which is in the RAM to any format you designate.

All of this without touching the original raw and ACR records your parameters in the metadata.

Just go back and open the original raw file once agaim and you will see this drug is still there.

    RAW files are always read-only.

  • Lightroom CC will not import Canon g3x JPEG, RAW, or video, even if they appear in the preview

    Hello

I thought that Lightroom and Photoshop CC have been updated to include the new g3x of Canon.  I am trying to import JPEG, RAW pictures and a few videos my card SD and Lightroom presents in preview everything very well (see the screenshot of the first), but why I click import it crosses and pops up a window that says it can't read the files (second screenshot).  I tried to import via simple COPY and DNG, and no work.  I also turned my computer market.  How can I get my files in Lightroom?  There is no place I can find to manually add the g3x cannon to a list of cameras that Lightroom reads...

  • Photoshop CS6 isn't recognizing the Nikon D4S raw file.

Just picked up the Nikon D4S, took some shots to Acclimate and glad I did. When I downloaded my PS program says, "Camera Raw can not open this file."  I got the same message when I tried to edit an old picture of my Nikon D300S.

Can anyone help? I think I have the most up to date Camera Raw.

I have the camera Raw 8.1. I found that I needed 8.4, so I downloaded the 8.4 converter plug in and I was able to open the images. However, I had to pass through a few stages & of waiting for files to be converted in a dng file. I hope I don't have to go through these steps every time? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

  • Download the JPEG appears in LR3

I shot recently and for the first time, a series of pictures recording the raws and large JPEG files. JPEG images appear in the windows all along the corresponding raws folder, as I expect. In LR, only raws appear, even after the synchronization of the folder. I also tried the metadata filter to display JPEG files without result.

How can I get the images JPEG appears in LR?

    Thank you

But you should check this option before you import your images into Lightroom.  It has no effect on the images that you have already imported.

Or if you have already imported your images, change the setting of preference (to treat separately the jpeg) then right click on the folder and choose "synchronize".  It proposes to import JPEG files.

  • Thunderbird 38.01, when I created a new e-mail account, it does not take account the preferences of archive and records everything in a single folder, although the old accounts work well.

I installed Thunderbird on a system different and migrated with success profile, but earlier today that Gmail wasn't picking up messages correctly, so I ended up using the new feature of Thunderbird. (I'm also spent POP IMAP for Gmail). The newly created has no trouble picking up the messages from the server, but when I try to archive, he pours everything into one folder. My settings call for records of the year and the month. Each account other archive correctly. The newly created is not in a row.

While poking around, I can have answered my own question. Thunderbird was not ignoring the parameters month and year for archiving completely. He was pouring newly archived messages from the Gmail account in a single folder. However, it was also archiving each of them in the old Gmail account archives folder and putting them in the correct subfolders it. It's strange, but it is achievable. I guess that Thunderbird has recognized the same email address used to set up the old account (which wasn't downloading mail more for some reason any) and the new. I changed the folder on the new configuration settings to point to the folder of old archives, and now Thunderbird archives only one copy of each message, as it should.

  • In the photos, RAW images not be open as RAW in photoshop

Just downloaded images from my camera (Canon 7 d) for the photos and info of the image suggests that they were recorded as the RAW images, which is what I expected.  However when I go to open to edit in photoshop CS 6, the extension changed to jpg format.  This has only started happening since the upgrade to El Capitan...

Unless there is a reason you want to use Photos, download the camera RAW

Download files by using the application of Capture of Image or Canon apps (camera window DC8

worked for me).  I think that Adobe Bridge CS6 download is broken in El Capitan and

Adobe has no plan to fix it (they want to subscribe to the CC is why).

  • Set the amplitude of mike when recording directly in hearing CC?

I can't figure out how to set the amplitude of mike when recording directly in hearing CC.

When I load hearing I have click on the waveform and create a file.

I can then click on the Red record button and start recording, but the amplitude is very small.

I know I can fix it in post editing but how to adjust the amplitude record raw?

Well, I looked at the manual. If I try to use a microphone with this mobo, I'd be very inclined to mount the system audio front panel, as it seems to have an understanding of slightly different mic that work peut better (although I think that you must run the configuration utility to configure). The details of this are on page 30 of the manual. For starters, it seems that he might in fact be two mic channels, which probably means that they took little seriously, a little more than usual.

I still think that the preamp is better, but I won't get it a chance to consider the issue until tomorrow.

  • Do I need the Adobe RAW plugin?

I recently downloaded Lightroom (current version). Photographer friends tell me that I need the "Adobe RAW Plugin" to process my RAW files before using Lightroom - but they use Photoshop Lightroom not. As I read the RAW page, it seems that this feature is native in Lightroom and I don't need a separate application? I am able to open my RAW files in Lightroom and treat them. Is there a reason I don't want to use the RAW plugin too? First? Instead? I'm confused.

This aspect causes a lot of confusion.

    • Lightroom can be used alone to manage, modify / adjust and print / export versions processed photos.
    • LR (in general) can adjust the appearance of a photo, but cannot change the content of a photo.
    • Change the photo, LR so can't do, can be outsourced to another (external) image editing program.
    • Photoshop is an example of an external editor, but there are other alternatives.
    • LR can talk either directly and "classically" a program Editor (first making a standard TIFF file for this to work and reading and then later in some changes were recorded in this)-ACR does not (completely irrelevant for this scenario);
    • OR another scenario is for LR to work with Photoshop in particular, offering few additional working methods (Adobe owner). This option is based on PS and Adobe Camera Raw, being present, in versions that are at least contemporary with LR.
    • When LR detects that this is the case, he adopts as a default method for external mounting.
    • When LR detects that this isn't the case, it greys options - for individual images: Edit in PS as smart object, or for multiple images: Edit in PS as layers / Photomerge / HDR. And he then uses only the direct method, in which ACR is not involved. Photoshop is used then not differently would have another program.
    • ACR is installed automatically with Photoshop and can be upgraded later to the more recent drafts within the PS: only up to a point, within this specific 'generation' of PS.
    • Once the PS goes to a new 'generation', then it would eventually be required to qualify for all newer versions of ACR. Also, therefore, to return to par with the all-new 'generation' of LR and once again enjoy the range of work for this partnership options.
    • The composition of the creative cloud keeps everything functioning optimally, while keeping up to date together.
  • Work with jpeg + RAW files

I use a Canon 70 d camera. I like to shoot in the format RAW + jpeg.

How to open the two upward during the use of the 13 items?

I'm looking for the setting so that if ever I open a file I see a jpeg and raw file.

    A few questions:

    Mac or Windows?

You "import" from the card reader or the camera through the Downloader of the Organizer?

If so, you checked the check box automatically stack raw and JPEG in the edition/preferences/card reader or the camera?

If so, to see both versions, use the "detailed" view (shortcut Ctrl D) that shows the battery on the thumbnail icon.

  • Fill to the right of the shuttle with the value/ID pair

I have a command shuttle (P17_RATE_SHUTTLE), which is filled by the next LOV query:

Yes, you try something against the nature of the issue of the shuttle.

  • Get the message that says: the Camera Raw editing is not enabled

When you try to open a jpg file in Camera Raw, I get a message that says that I must first launch a product calling. Formerly (CS4), I had no problem opening a jpg file in Camera Raw, but now on the cloud using 6 CS it seems to be a problem. Otherwise, anyone having this problem or knows how to solve? Thank you.

I suggest just open Photoshop, go to file > open and select a camera raw file to force Camera Raw (ACR) to open on this computer. Once this has been done with success, try to open the JPEG in the cab to the bridge.

  • Why photos that I saved as impossible to open the jpeg?

I understand the layers, but sometimes I need photos for the web in jpeg format. I've always been able to choose which format I want as my saved pictures there. Unfortunately, I have now had 10 element and only 1 in 10 photos actually save in jpeg format, well that I go through the same save procedure each time. Number of photo files have a forehead white, empty and do not open. Properties indicate that they are in the file format. Even the name I give them changes and shows only a few letters... not the name that I typed. You are my last hope, I think I tried all means... it of the wrists or the window then!

You can save a file with layers in JPEG format, but you must use the file > save as and specify JPEG in the File Format list. Your layers will be flattened in the JPEG format.

If you have multiple ads for JPEG in the File Format list, then you probably have a problem with the plug-ins make sure that you are not loading plug-ins from a previous version in 10 items.

If the name you are trying to save as does not completely, make sure that you use no periods (.) in the name. Use rather dashes hyphens (-) or underscores (_). A period followed by 3 to 5 characters can be considered an extension of file by the system. A combination of 3.5 letters which is not recognized by the system reported that they have a generic Format "file." Probably, all you have to do is to rename your files so that they have no periods except just before the end, followed by "jpg" and everything will work.
