Recommended settings Games Explorer

I accidentally closed the window of parameters when you click the Explorer of the games for the first time. I want to know what are the recommended settings, so I can put them now?

Click on the button 'options' on the top of the Games Explorer, and you will be able to edit all the important parameters.

    Hi Doomsland,
I can't recommend a specific piece of software, but I will say that I do my personal decisions of the advice given on this site.

Microsoft doesn't recommend or suggest any third-party software. Please use your favorite search engine to look for third-party software selectively erase some files.

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Games Explorer opens very slowly, diagnostic, need help to heal.

This is an old topic but, I found just what exactly is the cause it is so slow, now I need help, correct.

Symptom: The Games Explorer menu or a window, takes a lot of time to load all the shortcuts.

Frequency: It seems to be a cycle time, even if I have not taken the time to set it. Once the menu is allowed to load completely, it will then instantly for a certain period of time. After this time, it loads and then start again slowly once again the cycle.

    Reproducible: 100%

Cause: AV real-time analysis is something to do with the menu scanning.

    Evidence:

#1 using process explore * you can see MsMpEng.exe fire upwards and on my system using 25% of cpu resources, when you open the menu/window and run until finally loading shortcuts, then stop.

#2 Si you disable real-time scanning * menu loads instantaneously, every time.

I need to know what exactly is swept, why it is wiped out and how to stop the research of...

I tried to add the "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\GameExplorer" folder to the exclusion list because that's where shortcuts seem to be actually created. It made no difference.

I tried to add the folder "C:\Games" I have install all my games there too. It made no difference.

With the help of Games Explorer Manager , I modified each shortcut so that the AppPathExe = the real game.exe and not the file created by windows. It made no difference.

Using the same program I also removed any url * of each shortcut. It made no difference.

Please DO NOT suggest any action that you yourself have not personally confirmed the result of.

Please DO NOT answer with some crazy form letter which guess I'm stupid or ignorant.

  • Games Explorer does not

Windows 7 64-bit operating system. Windows Games Explorer runs do not and I district play all the games. I think the registory is corrupted or accidentally deleted by my son. Is it possible to copy the registry information of games since a second desktop Windows 7, and how do I do this. I don't have a copy of the registry from backup.

    Hello

The best way to solve this problem is perhaps to run the system restore Windows like this should also address recent corruption of the registry.

First of all, there are a few points to note:

    1. if you have Norton Internet Security installed, you should disable Norton Protection Tamper as shown in the link below.

    Norton self-protection.

2 if you have files, folders, pictures, etc on the desktop, move them to another location, such as your Documents folder (although the system restore does not affect your personal files, those that are stored on the Windows desktop may be affected.

Once you are done, turn off the PC.  Windows system restore is usually better run in Mode without failure.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  When it has loaded, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Pick a point to restore at least 48 hours before that the problem occurred first and then do the restore.  When you are finished, Windows will restart normally.

    Kind regards

  • Deleting items in Games Explorer

    [Windows 7 Home Premium] [HP]

I was searching in my Program Files folder and deleted stuff that I is no longer necessary. Some of these items have been pre-installed HP games. After deleting these files, some elements of the Games Explorer [Start menu > games] such as 'All casual games', "All the MMO games", etc. are still there and I can't seem to find a way to remove them.

    Any ideas?

These files appear here? C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games Unspecified things, I mean. If so, you can delete them right here.

In addition, if you are feeling brave ;) you can try this if the above does not work: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/42496-games-explorer-folder-delete-game.html scroll down until you get to "here's how".

  • Games Explorer

Games Explorer does not show in the games (OS) installed.  I turned on games in "characteristics on and out of the tower". Suggestions?  This is a new computer with Win7.

I had game Explorer to show by deleting shortcuts in menu programs (it only shows five). I then put a shortcut on the desktop to make things easier. Done here.

  • Game updates server (Games Explorer)

I'm having a problem with the Games Explorer, where, when I right click a game check and select online updates, I get the error: Windows cannot connect to the updates server, check your network connection or try again later. I worked with this error in the past and it seems to be related to Internet Explorer, I tried reseting IE as well as deactivation of > Turn Windows has or not< then="" of="" course="" enabling="" it="" again="" to="" no="">

    bmxjumperc,
If you go to one of the games is there an option to check the updates in the game?  If Yes this option work?  You can disable all add-ons within IE and test.  Launch of boot to the Windows Advanced Options menu and select Safe Mode with networking and the test and see if you are able to get updates.  Post back with the results.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Vista Games Explorer

My games on vista family Explorer premium 32-bit loads up slow. I opened it and it takes between 30 seconds and one minute before its loading in. In this time the laptop appear to hang until it loads. Anyone know why or how to fix? I think it's a problem other people had by browsing the net on the forums but not yet found solutions. Once opened upward following openings tend to react quickly to the next re-boot! Although it can recur in the same session to start if I do a few things such as playing a few games and then try and revive the Games Explorer. Does not include why it is so slow to open. It is not always like that!

I had the same problem on another computer running vista, so it seems to be common.

    Thank you very much
    Wayne

    Scottyboy99,
If you have not tried to perform a clean boot on your system, then do it and test game explore.  If it works normally in the boot, then there is another software that is slowly down from its commissioning.

  • Game Explorer has 653 icons for Everquest 2?

OK, so my Windows 7 game Explorer has a grand total of 653 icons for Everquest 2.  I tried to remove the registry entries, but whenever I start the game, it seems that an additional icon is added in.  I see it on my laptop (Windows 7, 32bits) and office (64 bit Win 7).  Anyone has similar problems or have a solution to stop what is happening?

I have this problem as well, so let others who play EverQuest 2 on Windows 7. I think they have solved the problem on the Test Server, but as of today it has not been moved to live.

Although it is easy to kill the question to Sony, I would like to know how to delete these extra icons in Windows 7, regardless of who put them there. I should be able to select one (or maybe all) icons and delete them. There is no option to do so, there is no right-click menu for them or any other way to remove them from the system.

If any program places a graphic I should be able to delete it, as in this case there are many duplicate icons. Why Win7 allows duplicates, and where it places?

I don't mind doing the cleaning, but it's a little difficult to do because she is located.

Thank you! Edit: Has managed to find. Duplicates are in the registry.

    Hi PhreQuencYViii,

For now I suggest you to see if it was due to a corrupt user profile. Access the link below to fix a corrupted user profile and see if it works very well.

  • How do you prevent Games Explorer to automatically add new games?

I bought a new computer (my first vista box), and rather than reinstall the games that I played before, I just put the HD in the new machine as a 2nd HD. Now all my games are appearing in the Vista Games Explorer. How can I stop this from happening? I've got shortcuts for the office, so I only (double) click once.

Thanks Savan, but I was able to get the games I didn't get out the Games Explorer.

    I changed the registry...

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows? CurrentVersion > GameUX > games

I found the keys corresponding to the games I wanted is more poster in Games Explorer and deleted. So far, they showed no upward. And I didn't notice anything that broke.

  • Get links from dosbox for update in Games Explorer

I placed links to dosbox game wrapped securities in the explored game and need to know how to force windows to load the data of boxart for them.

    Hi Jeffpiatt,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

Games explorer is a Microsoft application that contains games that are supported by Microsoft. DOSBox games are third party games that are not supported by Microsoft so that you can not update or display in Games Explorer.

    Thanks and regards.
