Record Professional/Home Edition Office handed over to new PC

After recording my PC to set up invites you... I found that my PC is NOT registered with HP...

.. and that the number of product I have (on the Tower, on the invoice and in the computer system) is NOT a VALID NUMBER... tech support says that it is supposed to be a 'V' in the issue of the product where it has none now.

I called the HP business outlet retail and they say that no 'V' is the reference of the product, and that my pc must have been entered into HP system automatically, but they'll do it manually...

Just an info... Make sure that your PC is registered... don't let it to the 'system' to do it automatically...

.. .that everything is...

Well well... after my 4th attempt to save my PC with HP services by phone... where consumer division officers could not find the model/serial number of my PC and the commercial officer who found him, but wouldn't help me (we don't serve this model... but you found it and they could not... but I use the same database as they do... but they are not... but...) and sent to agents consumers who refused to help me unless I gave them a series of numbers they COULD find...

I went online for 'cat' (because at that time my patience and all sense of humanity, had been lost for a long time on the denial of assistance) with a person who has taken the time and found my pc and the serial number and did sign me up so I could get tech help...

and she helped... in 2 hours she showed me how the new Win7/HP software can be used to format and partition my 2nd internal HD... Let me say that she was learning too... but she didn't want to learn and get help more of his shoulder and finally I can say I know the steps... and as soon as I can, I will post in the hardware steps it explains to me (I copied the cat just to remember, because it is not as easy as in the BACK)...

Happy holidays...

  • Handed over to new iPhone and AppleCare

    Hello

I would buy an iPhone from a seller on Ebay. It is a refurbished device (exchanged by Apple), probably using the current owner AppleCare plan.

My question is, if I wanted to buy this phone, can I buy a new AppleCare plan for it?

    Thank you!

AppleCare can be purchased during the active period 1 year warranty.

    If it is, then no.

If the seller received Applecare, it should be transferable.  Check with the guaranteed Apple Selfsolve check tool in getting the serial number of the phone.

Make sure that the seller doesn't have money on the (contract) phone or carrier (Bill pending) otherwise you will end up with a non-active phone.

Then just delete the files/folders in C. I'll repeat it here...

Just delete all the C files on XP Home on D. Docs and settings, program files, windows and any other records that may exist.

Do not delete all the files in the root of C! This is essential for Windows to start. They include ntldr and NTDETECT.COM, ini, boot.

  • Downgrade from XP to XP Home Edition Professional using a recovery cd - Can I still use the license of Windows XP Professional key

I have a disabled friend who I am hand. It was given to a second-hand machine from Dell with genuine XP Professional is installed. The license product key is on the side of the machine. Unfortunately, the operating system has been damaged while the machine does not connect to the internet, so I can not download from Microsoft. I did a recovery CD for Windows XP Home Edition from my PC at home. I create a new partition on his PC and retrieve XP Home Edition to him. When this is done the processw ask the product key. My question is: the key on the side of the machine will work with XP Home Edition?

    Thank you

  • Where can I find the full list of the features of Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional

    Hello Roman

Thanks for the clarification on the "new computer".

If, as you say, the card mother and any other material is compatible XP then by all means install Windows XP on this machine. As you said you "my idea is to get the XP and keep as long as possible, even after support ceased in 2014, because I like it better than any other operating system." You have been made aware of possible problems concerning the lack of support and you are ready to accept those. The only problem is to get a copy of Windows XP from a reliable source. Unfortunately, I can't help you with that. Personally, I prefer to get my software direct from the manufacturer or by a reliable retailer. As no other retailer has copies of Windows XP you are, unfortunately, has left the search for credible resource on the web.

My note to the subject of sticking with Windows 7 or 8 on your new computer has been in regards to your initial comment to a "new computer". I have two computers that are running Windows 7 and Windows 8, but then again maybe I need the additional machines and you do not have.

I have to admit that Windows XP is a great operating system, and to be honest, I also use it on a virtual machine on one of my PC. However it is more for support reasons than the generalization on my part.

Windows 7 get some getting used to, but I found it a usable operating system. Windows 8, however, is an altogether different beast. You love or hate it and judging by the comments on the Microsoft forums many people hate everything simply. Yet once I used it since the first beta of the operating system, so I'm used to it.

I agree with voluntary J on Windows XP Mode. This is useful if you have applications that are not compatible with Windows 7. However, as you said in your reply to J to volunteer, you must upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. You can run Windows XP on a virtual machine, with, say, Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 (as a free option); However, you should always buy a copy of XP and new Virtual Machines have some restrictions, especially when it comes to certain types of hardware connected to your PC. Maybe your best bet, if you prefer to upgrade would be to use Windows XP from Windows 7 mode.

I hope that you succeed in your quest for a reliable copy of Windows XP

  • Update XP Home Edition SP3 for XP Professional SP2. It's less work to do an upgrade?

I am running XP Home Edition SP3 and loaded Visual 2005 and find the tutorial that I use for Visual c# 2005 must have XP Professional SP2 (but I don't know SP3 would also work) and I don't want to have to do whold many other changes.  Am I right that installing a version upgrade is the best option?  Any suggestions?  The speed of machine and disk space is fine.

    What Daave said... more

It is difficult nowadays to find the installation CD of infringement for any version of XP, so before you go to eBay or a similar place to find an XP Pro upgrade CD, really tried your tutorial and it had fail or are you just read the 'minimum requirements' from somewhere?

If you have not tried to run on your system, I suggest to try this before doing anything else.  If you have failed, what was the specific error, without paraphrasing, that was displayed? There may be a workaround solution that someone here might suggest.

  • Can someone give me an answer to confirm if netbooks with Windows XP Home, Vista Home Edition, Windows 7 starter (these BONES other than professional or company) be used in a corporate environment...

    Original title: Netbook Licensing

Can someone give me an answer to confirm if netbooks with Windows XP Home, Vista Home Edition, Windows 7 starter (these BONES other than professional or company) be used in a business, connected to the server environment to share files?

I read somewhere that these permits cannot connect to a domain, is this true?

Of coz these OS has not input parameters are even to join a domain, how can they connect?

CAN, that my understanding of that statement means that it cannot be connected to a domain server, means that the netbook cannot be connected to the server to access files shared server?

Can the netbook share files with other computers (vice versa), other than a domain server, on a network of companies?

So what my final question is a netbook can exist in an enterprise environment? What's a standalone machine?

I'm not able to get an answer very Microsoft Singapore confirm after the call to them.
