  You use the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows? If you have your own version of Windows should reinstall using the Toshiba recovery disc. Also, if you are running the factory settings, you should try to reinstall Windows. Maybe it's a problem with a corrupted system file

  I can't have the built-in webcam to work on my brand new G40 - 108 with Windows Live Messenger. I get the following message appears when you try to set up "audio and video setting" the Herald: "Windows cannot connect to this webcam.   Remove the old software and the driver for the system.
  Go to the Toshiba European page and download the latest software for a chicony and the driver.
  Then install on the laptop and enjoy.

  Notes; Restart the laptop everytime after reinstalling the driver.

I looked and tried to run the Windows Live installer about 6 times. And it's always the same thing. About 98% is to install the Windows Live Call, and when it reaches 100%, it cancels.

  I also tried to download the Msn Messenger 7.0 and tries to update the software. For the record, I can't even use the Msn Messenger 7.0 because it says I need to update. And I can't update it because apparently I am not connected to .NET Messenger Service. I tried to test the connection, and it has failed due to an error of invalid character script. After that, I checked the advanced settings and ran tests; My TCP and HTTP Proxy connection works.

  I am currently using Kaspersky Internet Security and I even checked to see if the firewall was blocking it, but the installation of Windows Live is considered a trusted software. I even tried to disable my firewall to see if it makes a difference. No luck so far.

  UH well Windows Vista OS came with my laptop and I have improved with the installation of costum (new installation) to set up my Windows 7 operating system. If everything has been wiped clean.
