while trying to remove an annoying bing/inbox.com search engine that I managed to remove all my emails from the Inbox Outlook Express except todays.  Any chance of recovery?

In addition to the other reviews, if the messages have been deleted from the deleted items folder or shift-deleted from the Inbox, then my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) also has a 'recovery mode' option which will recover the deleted messages in the folder, but it cannot have been compacted.  If its compacted, then deleted messages are on hard disk clusters that are likely to be replaced.  Also, the text of the emails can be successfully recovered, as 4 bytes on each 512 gets overwritten when you remove, then images and attachments can be recovered in this way.

Otherwise see Bruce's suggestions.  DBXpress has the extract from disk feature that could retrieve the messages intact.

    Everything worked fine until I started my 'sent box' deletion. There where a lot of messages in there and I was remove from groups of 10 people or more. Some of them had more away in each group. I came to one who has had multiple (I had sent photos). It's where he hung up.

    You must close OE and then delete the oldquotation.dbx file.  Change the name again.  Create a folder called Q1.  Then open it once.  Then close OE.  Then, delete the file Q1.dbx.  Then with OE still closed, rename the file bak to Q1.dbx.  Then open OE.

    During the 0x800c0133 error code correction process (cannot receive emails), I moved and deleted a lot of emils in my outlook express, using the shift and arrow keys to do a lot at once.  At first it was fine, but suddenly the erase process seems to have become confused and the system stuck. I rebooted the computer thought that might clear up and he did a little, but I cannot now delete or move messages.  (I discovered that I can remove them if I hold down the SHIFT key, and then press DELETE and click Yes, but the message is not in deleted items - it's just disappears).   • Invisible messages to Outlook Express 6 after failure "compact all folders.

    I start Outlook Express 6 XP. On closing yesterday that I was invited to compact the folders - said yes, but he hung up at halfway and locked the PC and I finally had to force a power down.     Recovery methods:
     
    If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.
     
    To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.
     
    Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
     
    In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.
     
    Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.
     
    Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.
     
    First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.
     
    If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.
     
    If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.
     
    If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:
