Recovery Manager does not recognize a flash drive

Well, this is my second attempt to create recovery media, initially I thought the drive was defective and returned. I would go to 8.1 but would create recovery first. Recovery creator does not recognize the cross (SanDick Cruzer 16 GB) flash drive the forums and google around and have not really found a solution. Help please? Must I resort to buying discs for this purpose? I don't see any mention of this player being Win 8 compatible.  PC is the new HP Envy 1430. THX...

I said in my initial inquiry, I can't find any compatible 'Win 8' claim for this device. The packaging claims to be compatible by the bias of Win 7, but no mention of 8. I knew it was a problem and had checked. Regardless, this disc is useless for the recovery of the system. Thanks for your time.

Hello! Looks like you have a couple of choices for me. Use a PNY flash. Create an image of your operating system with a third-party App or get some DVD high quality. I agree that the drive is useless for the recovery of the system. I've seen your problem before on other forums and other products. I do not have the answer.

Dokie!

    Hello

    1. The hard drive is recognized in another computer?

If this isn't the case, then the problem could be the hard drive itself. If he is found, then the problem is in your computer. In this case, run the diskpart.exe utility.

Use the list partition command and see if the partition is detected. If so, then I suggest you to format the drive in diskpart.

However, take a return of all data on the hard drive before the format by plugging it into another computer. Help with backup data, see

    Backup: what, how, where

    http://www.Microsoft.com/protect/data/backup/about.aspx

To use the Diskpart.exe utility, follow these steps:

    1. type diskpartand press ENTER to open the diskpart tool.

    2. type list diskand press ENTER. A list of available hard disks.

    3. type select disk =[n]

n s Specifies the number of disc the disc to receive the focus.

    4. type list partition

This command displays the partitions listed in the table to partition on the current drive.
    5. type select partition =[d]

This command selects the specified partition and gives it the focus.

d s Specifies the drive letter or mount point path of the partition to receive the focus.

    6. type format drive: / FS: NTFS/Quick

Sounds like your AutoPlay settings need to be adjusted.

    Something to try...

Insert the flash drive into a USB port and go... Start / my computer...

The flash player should be recognized by a drive letter...

Right-click on the drive letter and go... Properties / AutoPlay tab...
Left click on the button "Restore default settings" / apply / OK.

Now... Remove and re - insert the flash drive and see if there is an improvement.

Maybe you did not use good SATA driver?  :| Who knows
The point is that there are two different versions of Intel Matrix Storage Manager supports different chipsets.
I put t know what chipset is in charge of your laptop but you should check this and must also check the description of the Intel Storage Manager and check what chipsets are supported.

I tried to install the Windows XP Professional instead of the Media Center edition.
However, during the execution of the installer, my laptop does not recognize the hard drive. Therefore, the installation cannot continue.

I thought it might be a problem of corruption with my laptop and reinstalled Media Center Edition successfully.
But when I try to install XP Professional it always gives me the same error.
