  • Recovery Manager is unable to read disk backup files

    Product name:

    HP G56-129WM

    Operating system:

    Windows 7

I used HP (F11) Recovery Manager to back up my files instead of using Windows backup. The HP Recovery Manager back uped my files on dvd disks 2. Then I restored my laptop to factory settings. When I go to restore my files, it will only go to 40% and then ask me to insert the DISC 2 backup. When I insert the disc, it will fail to read. The disc will eject and I receive a request to insert DISC 2. What is going on?

Unfortunately all backup HP of grab files, you specify and one bunch of others you really, why I don't know, as HP backup does not restore files to the original location, when restore.exe work (only not in your case), he plunges them correctly just in a folder for you to browse, not not very different from the use of 7 - zip to decompress.

You need to decide what is important to you and copy them in where you want, unfortunately is not a very good backup program, it simply records your files for HP recovery does not remove the.

The recovery image can be created on a CD/DVD disc or USB memory stick. As far as I know you cannot use a common USB HDD for recovery.

  • HARD drive failure. You want to transfer the passwords to new HARD drive. If it is located. I don't remember the last time.

HARD drive wasn't in my other computer. Put in a new HARD drive and transferred the bookmarks (FFox. (++ 16 on both), but do not remember how to transfer my saved passwords. Some people have helped me with this when I rebuilt this PC (the one that I use to send this info) and I remember most of the way and the method, but not well enough to attempt it without some guidance.
    The other PC is a laptop ASUS G50VT - X 5.

    XP:

    • C:\Documents and Settings\ < user > < profile > \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.

    Vista/Windows 7:

    • C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.

    Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ < profile >.

The "Application Data" in XP/Win2K folder and the folder "AppData" in Windows Vista and later versions of Windows 7 + are hidden folders.

For passwords, you must the signons.sqlite and signons3.txt file.

  • The trash on E:\ is corrupt. You want to empty the Recycle Bin for this drive

    Dear people,

I am faced with a pop-up message after setting Deny permissions to write to the file/folder E: drive.

This pop up comes when you are connected to the server by RDP, as well as through the Citrix icon.

    OS - Windows 2008 R2

    Published through CitrixXenapp desktop computer.

This is to make others mad. When YES button is pressed, the trash emptied without any problems and no popup more until the next reconnection for the new session.

    Tried them,

    1 deletion.

As mentioned in many pages, I tried to delete the recyclebin Administrator folder to the cmd prompt.

    I had several access denied.

seems I'm trying to delete the bin removed users.

    2 rename failed.

I tried to rename the folder of the command prompt. says the file does not exist.  But there is in the dir command.

I guess that the sfc scan runs after restarting the server.  But it doesn't have this problem once I rebooted.

  • The Recycle Bin on C is corrupt. You want to empty the Recycle Bin for this drive? But the trash is empty

The 1st time, I noticed that I had deleted the unused files with my Kaspersky. Could this something else since the tray is empty or you may have to remove something that is the cause?

    Hello

My guess is that Kapersky had something to do with it... I received this message before, but don't remember the circumstances... it could have something to do with when I changed the permissions...

In any case, not much face unless he continues to be... Just go come OK the prompt...

It may seem empty and it can be... but something has changed which has basically needs "Reset" for lack of a better description.

Kaspersky can be emptied the trash in a way that confuses the actual process of the trash.

Try with the exception that for the next time you clean files.

  • Backup via USB in windows 8.0

I have problems with the backup of files on a flash drive USB on windows 8.0.I go to control panel and go to the backup files. I turn disc on which is F and it says that it cannot identify? Can anyone help with this problem.

    Hi David,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right

direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. How do you try to back up files?
    2. Is your USB detected otherwise or if you are able to open the drive through Windows Explorer?
    3. Do you have an error message when you plug in your USB key?

First, I suggest you refer to the following steps to back up your files using the recovery of files in Windows 7.

    (a) press the Windows key + X , and then select Control Panel.

    (b) click on recovery of Windows 7 file.

    (c) click configure backup.

    (d) follow the instructions on the screen to save the files to a drive.

If the drive is still not detected, then try troubleshooting steps for the USB ports. Check the following methods and if they are useful.

    Method 1:

Please try the fixit provided below which will help you solve common problems associated with not getting devices not detected.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows

If method 1 does not work, try Method 2.

    Method 2:

Remove all USB devices connected to the computer (except keyboard and mouse) and reinstall all USB controllers.

    1. Press the Windows key + X, click Device Manager.
    2. In the list of the categories of equipment, locate and expand Bus USB controllers.
    3. Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    4. Restart the computer and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
    5. Plug in the removable USB device and test to make sure that the problem is solved.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Backup utility Windows 7 application ' are you sure you want to remove the most recent data from the backup file "even if I'm trying to remove the backup set is not the most recent.

I'm trying to reduce the amount of space that my Windows 7 backup uses so I've come to the place in Windows 7 backup:
    Manage space > view backups...

I am then presented a list of three backup sets:
    01/03/2012 to 01/04/2012
    12/07/2011 to 12/21/2011
    23/11/2011 to 30/11/2011

I would like to remove the older two, leaving the most recent. However, this doesn't seem to work as expected. If I try to delete one of the two most recent ones (the first two in the list above) I get the following warning "Are you sure you want to delete this backup file.

However, if I try to delete the last one in the list, I get a slightly different error "Are you sure you want to remove the most recent data of the file backup?"-sounds strange because it is clearly not the most recent backup according to the dates it's show.

Of course, I can go ahead and ignore the warnings, but I fear that maybe there are some files in the last backup the value in the list that may not be right more recent set backs.

In 2011, I thought this might be something wrong with the date formats vs US UK (I am in England so the above dates are in dd/mm/yyyy format and not in jj/mm/aaaa) - but now it's 2012 and I backup from 2012 and 2011 games and he always seems to think that the oldest backup of 2011 is the most recent.

Any ideas? Can I delete the oldest backup sets (that is, the two that are from 2011) safely?

Any help much appreciated - thank you.

    Simon

Update: I checked on other PCs in the office and the situation is the same - is not only something strange on a PC.

I suggest you make a set of HP recovery disks or USB recovery media before deleting access recovery.

Deactiviating Recovery Manager is too easy.

    Remove the recovery partition.

Are you sure you want to do this? Activation, it is much more difficult.

I hope that you advise your friend aware of the consequences of the removal of the partition.

Why not run a live version of Linux Mint from a USB key instead?

    Best regards

  • HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14: My HP Recovery Manager delete when im in windows windows 8 and go 8.1

My Recovery Manager is delete, can you help me how to install again?

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about the duty to restore the HP Recovery Manager and wanted to help.

Here is the download link for the HP Recovery Manager: Latest HP Recover Manager download

But facility that will not do you much good if you went to Win8.1, because the recovery files were pre-installed on your computer, not Win8.1, and the Windows Update did not update these files.

So, if you do a recovery, and it works (which he could not, now that you have upgraded), it will only restore you back to Win8, not Win8.1.

And, there is nowhere you can download the files needed for the recovery of the Win8.1.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • After you rename the computer, the backup of the file history still showing the old name of the computer to its destination.

Original title: history of Falie Worng Destination path

I changed my computer name [my computer setting and the name, display name, computer and computer Description all equal under the same name]. But when the history of files backing up my files, he insists on putting the OLD computer name in the backup destination path, for example:

    Backup_Drive\\Backup_Folder_A\UserID\Old_Computer_Name\Data...

I tried selecting a new backup drive and reboot several times, but the history of files always comes back to the old name of the computer when you create the destination path.

    How can I fix?

Similar to the response of Siva here, you will want to return to

    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory

Now, if FileHistory was lit before, using the old username, there will be a configuration file and the Config1.xml and Config2.xml files will contain several tags using the old name of PC. Rather than wipe these files, open each file in Notepad and search for the name of your old PC and replace with the name of the new, do not forget to save.

In addition, if you want to keep a backup that has already been created with the old name of PC, you'll need to find, rename the main folder ("old name PC") and in this folder, rename tags in the Web configuration files (as you did in the local configuration files).

When I tried to delete my local config files, he would recreate using files of configuration of the backup, that were also incorrect, so I just manually renamed and mine works fine now under the new name of PC.
