I have new HP ink cartridges and print on HP Color Injet paper. I have renectly replaced the Black/Yellow Printhead (at least 6 months ago). At the beginning when I cleaned the printheads, I was able to print 2 or 3 pages showing my color RED. Then back to magenta.   Given that the printer seems to work for a bit and then comes back to the same question, it must be a problem with the printhead (Cyan/Magenta one) or the ink lines that go from the cartridges to print heads. First of all, I would suggest that you check the warranty date on your printhead C/M. If it is under warranty contact HP Technical Support in your area and inquire about a replacement, but if not, it's you if you want to replace the print head, printer service, or look into an upgrade.
