(Redirected) Dell U2413 monitor constantly flicker

Hi all

I recently bought a new Dell monitor and could not understand why he started to blink every 20 to 30 seconds.  I now have 2 of the exact same monitors, and it works very well.  I worked with some smart real Tech guys and we were able to solve the problem.  The problem was with the cable and one I replaced it with a new one, the problem has been solved.  I hope that this post will be useful to anyone who is present the same type problem as it is very annoying.

Successfully, I connected my Dell U2413 monitor to my HP laptop and used as a large monitor screen.

I understand that the monitor is not built in speakers, but when I run a video on my laptop, my laptop speakers do not work either.

Can someone enlighten me as to why this is happening?

You don't mention how the laptop is connected to the monitor, but if you use HDMI or DP, the audio is transported from the laptop through the screen. Then connect speakers to the audio output jack of green monitor. If you don't want to use it, go to the audio settings of the laptop and go back to the audio from the laptop.

  • Dell U2413/U2713H (or maybe Windows 8) issue of color management

    Hello guys!

I am an excessive user of Photoshop / graphic designer and I just bought Dell U2413 to obtain, in combination with my graphics card Nvidia Quadro K2000, a true wide range/10-bit working environment of color which is very important for what I do. (Nec or Eizo was not an option because I've already spent so much money on other materials and I opted for Dell because I heard it is the best display in this price range - in my country, with taxes, it cost me 566 EUROS).

Previously, I was working on iMac for almost a decade then separate pieces of hardware or Windows operating system was a new (and, I must admit, pretty scary) territory for me. However, after everything has been put in place, I tried to calibrate my monitor for the first time and then I was very unpleasantly surprised! Namely, I have X-Rite i1 Display colorimeter Pro and some optional software for it (ColorEyes display Pro and baslCColor display 5 was much better/appropriate for me because of their L * option for TRC so I never used it original i 1 Profiler is a software which is a LOT less than the previous two compering), but because Dell in it's manual said to use a calibration color UltraSharp Solution software is exclusively I decided to give it a go and try with it. But, to my (as I already said, very unpleasant!) surprise, I was EVEN less of i1 Profiler which, as I have said, was never an option for me.

Not the end of the world, I thought, I'll re - calibrate it with ColorEyes Display Pro and everything goes well. But, after doing so, my unpleasant surprise become even more unpleasant, when I discovered that no matter what profile I chose in Windows Color Management and press "Set as default", nothing happens - my screen remains the same! The only way I can get a color change is if I create a profile using Windows built in utility. Profiles created in this way change the appearance of the screen, but all the profiles downloaded or created make no difference. And now I literally don't know what to do... The worst thing only of this, I can't blame WHO:

    1 Dell - that has a 'high end' view gives you ONLY a few factory presets + 2 custom profiles (Cal1 and Cal2) made by software calibration nowdays more inferior and useless;
    2. Windows 8 - who did a terrible color management which, in the same way, not a color at all management;
    3. me - who is unable to see put in place something that is more than simple & obvious?

THANKS in ADVANCE for everyone is willing to help me solve this question and forgive me for a long (and perhaps confusing-) as you can say English is not my language kindergarten post!

First of all if you use the eyes color pro with GBLED and i1DisplayPro and you're not invited to a sort of spectral correction for your type of backlight screen, you're hurting. No matter how visually pleasant it is, the profile is not accurate, playing WYSIWYB (what you see is what you believe) not WYSIWYG.
Second, unless you have purchased/updated Basiccolor Display 5 after may 2013 (NEC GB LED suppor for PA242W, 5.1.2 version) with GBLED and i1DisplayPro, its measures are wrong, no matter how nice of calibration is.

    With your questions:
    You have 6 presets:
-CAL1/CAL2, please read questions configuration on the Dell color calibration Solution in this instance. Please install the latest version 1.0.1.0 (67MB) and disable all color adjustments in yor GPU nvidia (bright colors, digital vibrance... all OFF). Most of us use in Windows 7 without problem (after a few configuration settings: spectal correction for GBLED files)

    etc.
-Factory-sRGB/AdobeRGB which are probably with a white point off the coast of the D65, recalibrate in GPU LUT with ArgyllCMS/DisplayCal. Works very well.
-Standard with a usually arround WP 7000 K (native GBLED WP), if calibrated in GPU LUT with ArgyllCMS/DisplayCal ' nearest the locus of the daylight "of your native WP should give about your contrast of 1000: 1. It is perhaps unnecessary to your workflow, but it is better to know it.
-Custom, native, fully customizable range WhitePoint, blackpopint and luminance of D50 D70 and beyond.
Work with color management applications just you Custom, CAL1 and CAL2.

You may have a problem with Windows (from Windows Vista from) color management. By default, Windows does not allow profiles (but applications can) rewriting GPU LUT of calibration. You need to configure.
    In W8, it's done:
-From the right panel-> Search-> color management
-Go to the tab advanced options
-Click on "change default settings...". ', the button down with administrator privileges.
-Go to the tab advanced options in this new window
-Toogle check buton (bottom) "windows use on screen calibration" (sorry I don't have an English version of Windows and I don't know the exact text)
    -Reload button calibrations (bottom)
    -Close
-Go to the "Devices" tab and select your screen in the upper drop-down list
-check the box "use my record for this device".
    -Select your profile

Your screen SHOULD be the same printer Dell preset OSD in which this profile was created, without other changes in contrast or brightness.
If enabled, please disable the "AUTO" mode in the Dell Display Manager tray icon, use the manual mode with "enhanced video" (last tab) OFF.

BTW and I know that this is not your case, but without workflow 10bits or gamma in 3DLUT (NECs & eizos) L * gamma calibration is not necessary.

For those who have worn with 8-bit or DA better sRGB gamma CRT and let Photoshop or GIMP color management to make corrections for images ECIv2 (or with similar profiles of gamma)

Some parts of the Firefox window are translucent, allowing the image of the desktop to show through. These regions are anything but great internet site central image which behaves normally. Connection cable vga card screen depends on whther or not your PC is configured with a video card. It is not necessary to open the PC. Just look at the back of the PC. If there is a card, it will be in one of the slots instead of the bottom basket I/O headers (as in the picture in my previous post).

Test the display on another PC or laptop to test the display and cable. This is the method of troubleshoting simpleest. If it doesn't, then the problem is with the display or vga cable.

  • Dell 2000FP monitor

    Hello

Our laboratory has recently bought a Dell Precision 650 workstation with
a LCD from Dell 2000FP monitor. We have installed our cards DAQ, a PCI-6733
and a PCI-6120 and everything seemed happy. Is the PCI-6733
connected to our support by the CA-1000 and the PCI-6120 is connected by
    a BNC-2110.

We were testing the configuration and noticed that there was a DC offset of
about 50 mV when monitoring of channel 0 of the PCI-6733 on a scope. The
lag was present on all output channels. No LabVIEW program
were running and no signals were sent. After trying a few
things, we turned off the monitor and the offset disappeared.

We then tried to connect the monitor to a different outlet. We tried
using on-screen RGB connection. We tried to use the DVI
    c
connection of the monitor. We tried to change the position of the
monitor. Nothing worked and the offset remained. We have also
to reproduce this offset using our old DAQ with different computers
DAQ cards and different graphics cards as well as the LCD display.

We then connected our old CRT monitor and the gap disappeared.

Everyone has problems with LCD screens? Someone at - it
experienced similar problems with this particular model, the Dell
2000FP? It is hard to believe that the offset is caused by the monitor
but all our tests so far have shown that it is indeed the case.

    Thanks in advance,

    Brian

    Brian,

I've never experienced this problem, and I certainly used LCD monitors with DAQ systems. Are video cards you are using PCI or AGP? If you only tried PCI video cards, and your motherboard has an AGP slot, I suggest to see if an AGP video card resolved the issue. In addition, if you move the LCD more away from the PCI-6733, is assigned offset?

  • HDMI on Dell ST2310 monitor resolution problem / Inspiron 537/Radeon 4350

I don't get resolution 1920 x 1080 on my Dell ST2310 monitor using a Radeon 4350 graphics card using the HDMI output.  I get about 1 "black bands black horizontal and vertical.   Strangely, I have perfected 1920 x 1080 when I use the DVI output of the video card to the monitor.  I checked the screen resolution setting in Windows 7 and on the monitor and it is 1920 x 1080 (monitor says just = 1080 p resolution).  Does anyone have advice?

    Success!  Thank you!

It worked for me, but my settings were VERY difficult to find (someone send this to ATI and Dell, the two companies isn't any idea of this parameter).

Here are my steps (for Version 2009.0614.2131.36800):

    1. open your Catalyst Control Center in advanced mode.

    2. find the top menu on the left titled: Graphics

    3. select «Desktop & poster»

4 STEP IMPORTANT: If you have 2 monitors you will see the large monitors in the Middle, and note the SMALL monitors in the lower left corner.  Right click on the LITTLE monitor on the lower left to change.

    5. Select "configure."

    6. click on the tab "scaling Options.

    7 set to 0

    8. click on apply

    9. click on Ok

You are finished.  I hope someone from ATI reads it and finds that it is much too complex even for an advanced user.  The menu item 'Configure' should have been included at the bottom of the fall of large monitors on the screen.  Why only on the graphics very small monitor in the lower left corner?

  • New U2413 monitor won't allow my Mac Pro computer to sleep

My new U2413 monitor works fine. However, when I try to turn my Mac Pro (model 1.1, with OS 107.5) computer to sleep monitor goes to 'power save' mode that triggers the computer to wake up, the monitor return to power save mode, the back of the computer to sleep and so on. If I change the preferences of the computer to the monitor and the computer to sleep after 10 minutes, the monitor going to sleep, but the computer does not work. Any ideas? Is it possible to turn off the monitor power saving mode?

I tried your suggestion to use an external USB key to monitor the connection. It works!  The computer and the monitor can now go to sleep at the same time. The only downside is that the auxiliary USB ports on the monitor is no longer connected to the computer. So, now I need a hub USB powered, connected to the computer, since I have more USB devices (card reader, USB stick or two, two scanners and two printers) that the USB ports on the computer.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Some problems with the Dell U2713H monitor profiling

I bought the Dell U2713H monitor.

I can't find a lot of answers for profiling it. Company Dell does not have any instructions on this subject - so I think it's very bad.

For example, I am interested in the following questions:

    I create profiles with ' Solution of Calibration Dell UltraSharp"and i1Display Pro.»

They record the monitor LUT directly, or LUT-video card?

Now I did 4 profiles, but it is not clear what profile using mode CAL1 oder CAL2 my monitor color space?

For example. I made a profile with the color space sRGB, but I did not see it in any mode CAL1, CAL2 oder overall.

Download and install them DA 1.5.3:
    http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/DriversDetails?DriverID=VJVPH

Then make sure that yout GPU does not apply "color improvements."

Run DA and select calibration target and slot of calibration HW store. For example:

    -Preset: sRGB, 120cd/m2

ICC - version 2 (a MUST to validate it with 3rd party applications), Bradford or CIECAT02 chromatic adaptation, table function, 400 patches, "calibration 1" profile = CAL1 slot

Once completed, it will ask for a file name, for example, you choose "U2713H_CAL1.icm" and click OK. The profile will be created and set as the default profile for the screen of your operating system Wndows.

Lunge CAL1 has been stored in a LUT3D of calibration of the "sRGB" @ 120cd/m2. In "U2713_CAL1.icm", it is stored:

-a linear LUT (output = input), clealing all calibration in GPU

-actual behavior of range and gamma of OSD CAL1 predefined after calibration.

It goes the same for CAL2.

Don't forget that most applications like Photoshop need color management real mode the monitor OSD to have their good active ICM as a 'default' before opening this color managed application.
For example, if you calibrated CAL2 = AdobeRGB and have a U2713_CAL2.icm, and you want use CAL2 in Photoshop, this profile must be defined as a default value in the OS color management prior to Photoshop.
