(Redirected) Monitor S2440L

I have owned a XPS8500 with S2440L Analyzer. Lately, my monitor has develop a foggy screen inside the screen. The foggy appear in tasks.  The fog behind the glass screen disappear after a certain time, but it has more and more often. What are the causes to happen? It's the humidity or the temperature?

FYI, I work in an air-conditioned office with temperature set between 22 and 25 degrees celcius.

Thank you

I have a new LED monitor from Dell which flickers to a black screen during market for a few seconds and then turns back on. I can't understand why this happens. It happened when my monitor has been connected to the slot built in HDMI on my motherboard. And it always happens when I connect the monitor to the HDMI slot on my new NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 of ASUS graphics card that I bought recently. My motherboard is the ASUS P8Z68 - VLX running Windows 7 with an Intel i5 processor. DELL LED monitor is S2440L. Anyone experience this state of the black screen that comes at random on the time where to watch movies or even surf the net.

    Hello

I have the same problem as you with my L-2440. The screen flickers and sometimes it's curtains blackout for a few seconds. I think this problem for this monitor is not an isolated case, because many people complained the same problem.

I have noticed before I installed driver Dell and Dell monitors management program, this problem does not exist. Admittedly, I don't use 1 hour after the introduction if theres no way to be sure about that. Anyway I uninstalled both and use the driver default Windows (generic PnP monitor) and disable DDC/DCI under 'Other settings' in the configuration, monitor and now dancing lines are for the most part disappeared (sometimes but rarely sound still there), but black still happen.

After experience, it turns out that it is related to electrical installation of the dwelling. Whenever someone support some switch in my house (On or Off), the screen will be black without fault. Im sure this model in particular have some bad Earth or something since I have never experience such problem in previous Dell monitor that I own or any other device. Try it yourself and make people put the switch in your home.

I am awaiting response to Dell too because it is the time of 2md my monitor is replaced (totally busted S2320L and cannot be turned on) and Dell replaced by 2440L as the third replacement. Anyway Im afraid it will break the monitor sooner or later and I'm inclined to return it...

  • (Redirected) Monitor DELL U2412M - light problems

    Hello

I just bought a DELL U2412M monitor, but have problems with its brightness settings. I found extremely bright, can't spend too much time in front of him without having headaches, at the present time, this monitor is useless for me. If I decrease the brightness of the Panel, it helps a little, but only if the brightness is of ~ 10, which is too low to produce a screen the user can enjoy. Do you have any suggestions?

    Thank you

  • (Redirected) MONITOR WHITE

I HAVE a DELL MONITOR S2209Wb. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, we HAD A POWER INTERRUPTION AND WHEN I TRIED TO START MY COMPUTER I have STRUGGLED to START THE MONITOR UPWARD. IT WAS WHITE FOR A LONG TIME. I KEPT TURNING THE COMPUTER MARKET AND IT FINALLY STARTED... A FEW DAYS AGO, A CB TRIPPED WHEN THE COMPUTER WAS IN USE. WHEN STARTING OF THE MONITOR WAS WHITE FOR A WHILE. NOW THE SCREEN IS BLACK AND THE POWER LIGHT WILL FLASH WHITE. I CAN'T TURN IT OFF WITH THE KEY. I THINK THAT THE COMPUTER WORKS FINE. WHEN I TURN IT ON I CAN HEAR IT WORKING AND I CAN HEAR THE WINDOWS STARTS THE MUSIC. EVERYTHING IS PLUGGED INTO A SURGE PROTECTOR. I READ SOME OF THE SOLUTIONS HERE AND I TRIED UNPLUGGING EVERYTHING AND HOLD DOWN THE BUTTON MAYBE IN AND THEN PLUG BACK IN. IT ME MISSING SOMETHING. MOST OF THE SOLUTIONS IS FOR DIFFERENT COLORED ON THE POWER BUTTON LIGHTS. I FIND NOTHING FOR FLASHING WHITE LIGHT. IS MY MONITOR FACT OR WHAT? I HOPE NOT. IT WAS A GOOD THING.

It is always convenient to include the model of the computer, during the validation of a computer problem.

Have you tried to use a "Known" work monitor, to see if there are any problems with the computer, if this monitor works without any problem, it seems that the S2209WB is toast and needs to be replaced.

  • My new S2440L face the problem of power outage

I have just purchase S2440L to replace my old S2340L. With S2340L, I have never have any problem of power outage but when I plug my new S2440L, it was goes black for a few seconds. The problem was random 10 minutes to 40 minutes. These two monitor was same HDMI cable (and work fine on my SmartTV too), PC same and even graphic card driver. I try to reinstall a fresh driver but still a problem. Is - it could be hardware related? Perhaps S2440L have a hardware problem or a S2440L need a more specific HDMI cable? Now I have any problem with my S2440L. the blackout has been occur when overheating circuit behind the monitor. I was watching about about on the HDMI port of overheating by googling and found that HDMI can fail if the (amplifier HDMI) circuit was overheated (I'm not have overheating issue on my old S2340L (rev.) A00). i sure as S2440L (mine is rev. A01) have material problem on HDMI and circuit surprise (lower part of the monitor) have very high temperatures. I hope you, Dell will be it is your responsibility that your monitor, S2440L have an overheating problem / high temperature and could be a HDMI port blackout curtains. It's bad for me avoid this problem by using the VGA port.

    Thank you, ChozeriZes.

    Christ

I just touch the border smaller surface compared to the top edge, it is very hot.

maybe only my S2440L have this problem...

Today, I remove my VGA card and the power cord, and reinstall the whole again, the problem in black often seem to not like it before summer. It's just a couple of times for that day.

Actually I feel fine with this monitor, both design and image, but still nervous about high temperature, it's may be the major problem in the long term.

Maybe I was too early to conclude everything... HDMI is a very sensitive matter, as I said in a previous comment, then I have some tests for my S2440L

-overclock grid power my VGA card around 2% and delete some fan of my system.

-find the new place for the power adapter avoid the heat. (I found this use of monitor LG IPS 1. 3a adapter 19V is perhaps)

Note: I use 750W Seasonic and power supply of 5V and 12V is pretty good (5.1V and 12.05V).

OK, now I need to close this thread as solved and and report this problem like power supply problem; in major relate.

"on monitor blackout curtains when use the HDMI port occurs when power on unstable system will also be able to rack in the House, heat and cable must use HDMI1.4 full spec for sure (if HDMI cable does not include with the package).

    Best regards

  • S2440L Rev.A01

    Hello everyone!

I bought a monitor S2440L Rev.A01 with manufacturing date March, 2013.I wanted to know what means "Rev.A01". And what would be the difference for the others "Rev.XX".

    thx.

The States of the User Guide, 'backlight = LED edgelight system', which is PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) inverter. If you find the PWM backlighting annoying flicker or I just want to see if it reduces makes easier on-screen reading, try the following: put your screen to maximum brightness and disable any automatic brightness adjustment. Now, use the available color correction in your video card drivers or the calibration device to reduce the brightness at a normal level (usually by adjusting the contrast slider). This will reduce the brightness and contrast of your monitor while leaving the backlight on whenever possible during PWM cycles.

  • Differences between S2440L and S2440LB monitors

Hello, I'm about to buy a monitor S2440LB and I could not find any reviews on this subject on the web, but I've found a few on the S2440L and I liked what I saw. I want to know if there are differences between the two, or if it is the same model, but only for the different areas or something like that. I want to know if the S2400LB has deep blacks and flat colors just like the S2400L, in this case I'll buy it. Thanks in advance for your time!

They are the same. You can see on the page of follow-up here, there is only a single S2440L. The 'B' is a notation of Dell from the factory.

  • S2440L 24 '' Dell monitor

    Hello

I recently bought the S2440L Dell 24 "monitor and the text looks awful.  The text is thin and pixelated.  It is the worst-looking text I've seen on a screen in recent years.

I am wpmdering how I should adjust the monitor settings to improve the display of the text?

    Thank you

    Hi jediem,

You can run a self-test by following the steps below and see if there is a problem with the monitor:

    • Turning off the computer and the monitor.
    • Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer. In order to ensure the proper functioning of the Self Test, remove the analog (blue connector) cable to the back of the computer.
    • Turn on the monitor.
    • The floating dialog box should appear on-screen (against a black background) if the monitor cannot detect a video signal and is working correctly. In self-test mode, the power led remains white. In addition, depending on the selected entry, the following dialog box scrolls continuously through the screen.

    • This box appears during normal operation if the video cable is disconnected or damaged.
    • Turn off the monitor and reconnect the video cable; then turn on the computer and the monitor.

If the monitor screen remains blank after that customers use the previous procedure, check the video controller and the computer, because the monitor is operating properly.

You can also perform a monitor factory reset and see if it helps:

    1. Press any key to launch the OSD menu and press on to display the main menu.
    2. Press up and down keys to switch between the options in the Menu. When you move one icon to another, the name of the option is highlighted.
    3. Go to "other settings".
    4. Select 'Factory reset '.
    5. Check if it works.

    Please share the findings.

  • Incorrect monitor (redirect)

Why dell it would take them to replace an order that I put in and send me with a lower quality monitor (that I can't even connect to the desktop computer). So tell me just to go out and buy a new cable (which is an hour's drive to the nearest store). Or better still just send the rear monitor and buy a new one from dell. 10 customer service representatives later that they agree to send me a new cable (5 days before I get it). This is the service the customer for you!
