(Redirected) Motherboard upgrade question

I have a question for you experts. I have a Dell Studio 1735. It runs great but extremely slow. Most ram I can put in it is 4 gigs unless I update the motherboard with a plank of 1737, which will give me a max of 8 GB and a lot more speed.

So my question is, can I change these tips on without running into a lot of trouble. I'm hoping to use the same processor, but add two sticks of memory 4gig and maybe another 1 TB drive.

Any help is appreciated. And thanks in advance.

It is unfortunate that Adobe has chosen to use the "update" in the notice inside LR 5. It is not an "update". It is an 'upgrade '. Thus, you pay if you want. Also as usual, Adobe directs clients to the CC solution and makes it hard to find perpetual license option.

  • (Redirected) The motherboard upgrade, but I would still use the 3770 Alienware x 51 i7 cpu.

Hi, im having trouble finding the exact chipset of the Alienware 51 i7 x 3770. I bought a new case, the food and the gpu for the project. I also jumped the gun and the waste of money on a motherboard with a lga1150 socket that I thought would work, but was wrong in the end. I noticed on the stock x 51 mb he had 115 x lm on the socket, but I wasn't sure if it was the code of real socket or something else.  I would like to know if someone could inform me on which card code mother socket would support my cpu or direct me to any suited cards Mini ITX mothers who will support the i7 Alienware 3770.

  • Satellite A205-S4577 Motherboard upgrade

I'm having the same problem as nskmartinez did in June 2011,

My question is: If the motherboard has solved the problem or not, and I would like to change my motherboard in any case to a different Board which is faster.
If it is possible as an i3, i5, P67 or the new x 68, if this no what I can do to upgrade the jury? I have Toshiba Satillete A205-S4577 part # V000108030 Intel 945 integrated motherboard.

    Hello

Sorry, mate, but the upgrade of the motherboard is not possible due to the proportion of page layout.
You can only use a motherboard that is output to a Satellite A200/A205 series.

Ask for the replacement of CPU or the upgrade?

Well, you can use the CPU that is supported by the chipset.
If the chipset would support the new processor so you have a good chance to get this quick.

    Welcome them

  • Power supply upgrade Question

    Hi all

This isn't a typical question. I read in all directions for an answer with nothing doesn't. I have HP Pavilion A1560n, which comes with a power of 300W. As most of you know, HP uses ATX power supplies and so for me to original power level, I need to know if the upgrade of power must be for the rail voltage 12V or 5V voltage rail. You're probably wondering the reason for the upgrade, and it's because I have a lot more hard and readers of DVD RW that I need to use this system. Think of this system as a station of mini Server (admittedly not the best system for this) If you want.

With hard drives, one might think that the new power supply should have a higher on the 12V rail power. One could argue that the ATX V2.3 is also a good choice here because it has more than one 12V rail and retro-compatible with ATX. However, the fact that 2 different HP technicians mentioned that I need to upgrade is the power rail 5V me puzzled. A third technician just told me I need more power from 12V every power that I have met has more power on the 12V rail, except for the couple who had the same amount of power of 12V as my original power supply and many more the 5V power and the 3.3V rail.

Could you please refer me to any documentation that could enlighten us in what route to go? Should I get an ATX upgrade that would increase the power on the 5V and 3.3V rails or V2.x ATX which will increase the power on the 12V rail.

    Thank you

    Jim

Won't you Dear?  How about $ 45 for a Fortron 600W with 80 + cert?  $ 35 yesterday with a $10 OFF coupon.  This unit is 580W for 12V output rate.  No need to worry about the modern 3.3 and 5V rails with PC since the maximum load will be less than 100W.  This device does not have no problem of transverse load... which means that the system can take as little as a few watts on 3.3 and 5 v rails and still be able to get close to 600 w total power.  You can buy the adapter to convert SATA connector Molex, or vice versa if you have plenty of HARD drive.

This power supply has three independent 12V rails, each rated up to 18A.  Say staying us cautious and rates from the coast to 16A by rail, one call always load to the top of each tubular structure with eight drives.  The processor and the motherboard to sit on the other 12V rail and you can put a high range GPU and a few additional hard disks on the 3rd rail.

The HP tech skill level can vary considerably.  Great people work cheap, so if you want good advice, then you should put these questions to the hardware enthusiast forum.

Let's take a specific example for illustration.  I have a WD 1 TB green drive on my test bench.  The label says A 0.70 @ 5VDC (3.5W) and A 0.55 @ 12VDC (6.6W).  Eight hard drives would put on 28W load on the charge of rail and 5V on the 12V rail 53W.  Double this amount if you want a sturdy margin of safety.

Your PC will probably rely on 180W peak due to the older Intel CPU.  I doubt that you will have no problem to start six drives on the PC with the stock power supply.

  • Upgrade questions

Hi, I have a few questions about the compatibility of certain hardware components.

I would buy a SSD and buy more RAM.

The question is if my motherboard supports SSDS.

I have the HP Compaq CQ58-301SG and my motherboard has the following features:

    Manufacturer: HP

    Model: 1858

    Version: 65.33

    Serial number: [redacted for privacy]

    Inventory number: Chassis Asset Tag

on the RAM - what is the maximum amount of RAM my computer can handle and what is the maximum

I use ability: 1333, 1666 or even more?

Thank you very much for your answers.

Here is a link to the service manual for your laptop:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03593803.PDF

You will see in the description of the product that your laptop can support up to 8 GB DDR3-1333 mhz ram.

You must also have no problem installing an SSD if you choose to.

www.crucial.com is a good tool that allows you to scan your system. They will give you results for ram and HDD that are suited to upgrade your system.

  • m7100y Motherboard upgrade opportunities?

Hey all, I'm in a bit of a jam and in need of a little help. I have a Pavilion m7100y Media Center PC. Recently blew up the CPU fan, so when I disassembled the computer to replace the fan, I got to thinking about doing some updates. I studied the motherboard (ASUS P5LP - THE) to see which parts should be compatible. But, I watched the jury Leonite (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00864946), and my room is actually an Emery (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00590499). Very little difference in looks, BIG difference in compatibility. So now, I have 6 GB of RAM PC-5300 laying around (2GBx2 and 1GBx2) and a Core 2 Duo E6850. Memory fits and works very well in my Emery, however, the processor does not work.

So, I would still use this processor. Here's the big question, however: the Leonite will use the same USB and connections box like Emery? I guess they would have since they both seem to be planks for the HP case, but when you look at the layouts, it seems that the Leonite has a few cards that are upside down from the way they look on Emery. If possible, I want to retain the use of the front USB connection.

Another option, I've been kicking around is to upgrade the mobo to something compatible 64-bit so I can get the best out of my RAM. The E6850 is 64-bit capable, should not have problems of compatibility there. The motherboard, I look if I go this way is an ASUS P5K - VM (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5KVM/). Price wise, the P5K - VM and P5LP - THE Leonite are about the same price used. But, here again, I will ask the question of whether if or not the case/USB connections is still noticeable at this new motherboard?

Before I sink more money into what I wanted to be a very low-budget upgrade, I would really like to double (and triple) check my components to make sure that this time everything will be compatible. Does anyone have any input here, or possibly an experience trying to upgrade a m7100y?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    Hello

There is a video on the net that shows how to burst these wires on the connector.  You will need real narrow device slim to release the lock on the socket.  Then you might be able to pass the right pins via connector Q.

  • Area 51 - R2, processor upgrade Question

Quick question, if I bought the area 51 - R2 with the 5820K i7, but later wanted to upgrade processor... is that motherboard that he would come with the upgrade for all processors support, you can buy with it on the site?

For example, I was able to install one of the following processors at a later date:

    I7 5930 k

    I7 5960 x

    I7 6850 k

    I7 6900 k

    I7 x 6950

Just look at long-term, if I wanted to spend by ensuring that the option would be. I remember reading, some people not get the other processors to read... so, I'm curious.

In addition, is the speed of ram supported max 2133? Because if I got 16GB 2133 I would probably update later myself to 32 GB and want to 2400 mhz or something like that is possible.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello

Yes, the motherboard will support all CPUs, you just need to have the latest version of the Bios (A08).

    And on the memory:

Memory type: four slots, UDIMM, 2133 MHz DDR4

Memory Min / Max: 8 GB to 32 GB (four locations)

  • m8120n Media Center PC RAM upgrade questions - help please!

I have an HP m8120n 2 year old PC. It has 3 GB RAM PC5300 inside stock. I want to upgrade the ram, with 6 or 8 GB. Here are the 2 questions I have:

    (1) this motherboard is supposed to handle 8 GB (4x2Go). It will get by the BIOS?

    (2) this motherboard is supposed to be able to handle up to PC64000 (DDR2 800) RAM. I can use it or do I have to stick to the PC5300 accompanying?

I understand that if I go to 6 GB, I leave 2 GB of RAM stock in it and you need to use the PC5300. I would prefer 8 GB and the PC6400. And Yes, I run Vista 64.

    Thanks in advance!

    Scott

    OK, I got it now.

  • Lenovo x220t ram upgrade questions

I am looking for the x220t but I got a questions about upgrading ram. I'm not very knowledge when it comes to changes to the computer, but I would like to know if one of these Rams from spare 4 GB would fit in the x220t.

Also, for later use, I would like to know how to know if an Aries will work. Is there some numbers that must match (literally I don't know anything, but the figures look like)?

    Thank you

Go with the first link. His brand lenovo RAM. When you buy RAM, you want to get the last type (i.e. the norm these days), which I think is DDR3 right now. DDR3 is simply the interface type. In addition, you must consider which will support your motherboard, and you find this out by looking at the specs of your motherboard. It will tell you all the ports and what type of everything what you can fit there.

The maximum amount of RAM has to do with your operating system (OS). The limits of each version of Windows, you can wikipedia. In fact, wikipedia EVERYTHING and you will learn.

The reason why I told you to buy the first RAM in the link is because you want all your RAM are the same to be more effective. I don't really know the details, but just to get the same RAM (brand, latency, type, no matter). As a casual PC user, you don't really need to worry about what anyone else. Just make sure the RAM on the motherboard of the computer desk or in your laptop and if you buy more RAM, try to be the same. Although it is not that serious.

BTW, I bought RAM myself for my 220 t make my Tablet have 8 GB, (which is the maximum that can support this thing) and it works like a charm.

I hope this helps. Building, fixing, modding and the upgrade of PC is all about trial and error. And once again, wikipedia everything. If you have a problem with a PC, try it on google and go on forums because people generally have the same problems. That's how you learn.

    Peace

  • El Capitan 10.11.4(5 & 6) upgrade question

I have an iMac 2010 (3.2 Ghz Intel Core i3, 4 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3, 1 TB HDD - 485 GB free) that runs quite happily El Capitan 10.11.3

Unfortunately, trying to upgrade to 10.11.4 gave me the white screen of death white.  No hassle, time machine backup, don't try again, no question of devices attached, even.

Waited for the release of 10.11.5 and 10.11.6 and have the same problem again.  Equipment of diagnosis showed no problems and has even downgrading to 10.11.3 and 10.11.2 and update go here has not solved the problem.

Has anyone struck this problem and solved?

    Thank you very much!

I suggest to download the Combo update and try it.

  • Pavilion 17-e020us: HP Pavilion 17-e020us card mother/processor upgrade Question

    Hello

I think to upgrade the motherboard on my HP Pavilion PC 17 - e020us.  The manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04069163.pdf) contains a list of supported processors, and I'm not sure that we choose.  The computer currently has a processor Intel Core i3 - 3110M with 10 64 - bit Windows.  I am deciding between the Intel Core i7-3632QM and the Intel Core i5 - 3230M processor (the processor TDP should be 35 w or I have to get a new power supply).  You can view a comparison between the two processors and the currently in the system here: http://ark.intel.com/compare/71670, 72056,65700.  Although the i7 has a lower base frequency, it has more hearts; the reverse is true for the i5.  Could you please tell me what CPU should I choose (I'll get the corresponding motherboard)?  Here are the main things I've done on the PC: web navigation on board or Chrome, using Microsoft Office and software development with Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 (which means that I often use of the Tablet and mobile emulators to test my application - it means also I need to compile quickly and be good with graphics rendering (for design applications/Games)).

In addition, please could you me of those in the manual of the motherboard (34 in PDF of page, page is numbered 24 down to the left)?

Thank you very much to all who have responded.

    Hello

Normally we use the rule of 3 C to choose a processor. They are Cache, Core and clock. In this case, I'd choose processor 6 MB Cache. It also has more Core and clock is a little slower but a lot of applications, the slowdown factor is not processor but another factor, namely the HARD disk.

    Kind regards.

  • HP 15-r030wm j2x46ua #aba: CPU/RAM upgrade question

I want to upgrade my CPU and RAM, but notice 2 things.  1st - the processor is a N3520; is not it is welded to the card or can I spend it?  2nd-if the CPU is only N3520 RAM socket, then the max would be 8 GB 3DDRL or can I use a better?

Try to find the best RAM.  Now that the processor is welded for sure only 3 things I can do to improve performance.

1 switch for SDS for the OS and the current use of storage

    2. I do not have a CPU fan, so I guess I can install 1 I hope...

3 - find the best possible low-voltage RAM but still do not know that I can use.

I saw manual on how to open it and this laptop just crazy when it requires an almost complete dysection = /

You are right. He is a Bay Trail N Pentium processor that is soldered to the motherboard and a slot single memory with a maximum of 8 GB of RAM. Manual link seems to be down at the moment.

  • Satellite A110-174 - RAM upgrade questions

    Hello

    I have a Satellite A110-174

I want to buy a RAM module (it uses ddr2 ram, 533 MHz), but it seems impossible, in view of their.
I can only find the frequencies of 800 or higher.

I can use them or they give me problems / incompatibilities?

Can I mount 1 module or to buy 2 modules?

The motherboard will read up to 4 GB or need a Bios Update?

    Thank you

Satellite A110-174 can be upgraded up to 4 GB of RAM.

In order to use a feature of dual channel RAM, two modules must be used.
This means module of RAM 2 GB in each slot.

The 4 GB RAM limit is caused by Mobile Intel 945 GM Express chipset
http://Ark.Intel.com/de/products/27857 as well as the Intel Core CPU T1350 http://ark.intel.com/de/products/27243
The processor supports the 533 Mhz FSB (front side bus) and the RAM modules will run max at 533 Mhz.

Thus, you should use the DDR2-533 modules

But sometimes, you should be able to use the DDR2 - 667 Mhz modules. In this case the 667 Mhz speed module will be clocked at 533 Mhz
