Reduce memory Oracle settings?

I have an Oracle database installed on a Windows Server 2003 with 16 GB of RAM. I need to copy this database to a Windows 2008 box that has only 4 GB of RAM. Here are the current init params, but I'm confused on the memory settings. 9 first params seem to be sga and pga components but I see sga_target and pga_aggregate_target shown twice.

Not sure what params to reduce to get this database to work with only 4 GB. Thanks for any input.

The key parameter for the allocation of memory in your case is memory_target.

Try to reduce this say 3 GB (after backing up everything of course):

ALTER SYSTEM SET memory_target = 3G SCOPE = both;

Other settings related to the memory should adjust accordingly.

Hello

I created simple demonstrations with Oracle ADF Mobile and the deployment file is more than 50 MB. Is there a way to reduce this size? Maybe remove some features unused llike SQLLite?

At the moment you can't do much. Oracle is working on that. With one of the next versions the size will reduce if all goes well. If you create the application without debugging information, the size is smaller.

• Oracle RAC 12.1.0.2 (GI battery) deployment on OEL 7 (3.8.13 - 35.3.4.el7uek) fails with ORA-27102

Hi guys,.

I am currently trying to deploy a complete installation (GI battery) of Oracle RAC 12.1.0.2 cool on OEL 7 (3.8.13 - 35.3.4.el7uek) with 2 nodes for validation purposes. However the installation itself went well, but 'Creation repository for Oracle Grid Infrastructure Management container' step fails with "ORA-01034: ORACLE not available / ORA-27102: out of memory / Linux-x86_64 error: 12: cannot allocate memory". The steps of runInstaller validation completed successfully, but I never take this step of configuration without jumping.

Here is my configuration which should normally avoid such errors ORA.

• Compaq 500 b memory and CPU compatibility problem

I have a Compaq 500 b MT, that came from the factory with 1 GB of RAM and a processor Intel Celeron E3200 CPU. I upgraded my memory to two sticks of 2 GB Kingston DDR3 1600 RAM, which worked perfectly for a while. I then upgraded my CPU to an Intel Pentium E6500 CPU processor (supported), and when the start he gave me a code beep RAM (1 short, 1 long, 3 second pause) error. I bought 2 sticks of memory PNY thinking I have fried my other sticks. Same beep code.

To make a long story short, I tried all possible combinations of the two processors and the three types of memory. The only time wherever I could get the Pentium E6500 to start was with the factory installed 1 GB memory. It would give errors of memory with any of the other 2 GB sticks, even when considered individually. Celeron CPU works very well with them.

Is there something that I need in order to get the E6500 working with sticks of 2 GB of RAM?

When you updated the modules of memory did you some they are guaranteed compatible? This isn't an amateur PC equipped of a BIOS level that allows for flexibility in the choice of primary and secondary memory sync settings and take. This means that it is essential that one chooses to upgrade memory that meets the criteria specified in the image below. Otherwise, the way the easiest way to upgrade is to buy only compatible memory guaranteed of leading manufacturers of memory.

When I search for Compaq 500 b MT I come with a desktop PC. Is this correct? You posted in the notebook section, perhaps by mistake. If you will check, I can move this correct place.

Kind regards

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be aware that not all shops are skilled at removing malware, and even if they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will have to be properly installed. • HP Probook 440 2 How to change the BIOS to work around the memory not supported the start-up message

Hi everyone, first I would like to say that I find the list of operating system for the less "interesting".

Now, I bought a G2 to replace my 4441S.

The problem is that the momory I had gave me a message as "memory not supported."

very well, I bought new memory, same problem with 2 brands, so I it's maybe because I bought 'normal' memory and not DDR3l?

The thing is that I need this memory quickly and I can't find DDR3L, now I use corsair Vengeance and I need more on the lan function but this message that allow me to use the computer if I press on enter, have no countdown with option by default and no BIOS settings so I want to change that and either add a timeout that starts the laptop or just disable this message , because it works, I use it now.

I need that until I can find the DDR3L.

Thank you.

You don't seem to understand how it works with primary and secondary memory voltage settings schedule and bus. the laptop BIOS ROM file includes settings in its encoding of the memory modules that meet the compatibility requirements. If you install memory that has not been tested for compatibility, so it will not work or even it seems to work, it will be unstable.

A BIOS of the laptop is quite unlike a BIOS that is present in a motherboard level amateur games. There are no timings adjustable and tensions to the timings of the memory or bus in a laptop BIOS BIOS standard voltages. It actually is to protect the owners from themselves. You "do not 1.5 and 1.35. You can't change the setting of the voltage on the bus to do anything other than what is defined in the BIOS. If you install the module memory does not accept the voltage set by the BIOS code, then you are simply out of luck.

Check out the BIOS Modding forums if you want to see what options may be made available.

I have 32 GB of RAM and After Effects use 20-29 gb as seen on my application for management tasks on El Capitan.

It was produced after about 30 minutes of use with no problems. So if I saw my composition I get all these error messages continue to appear after I press ok making it difficult to work on my project. Finally, I restart my computer that solves the problem for 15-20 minutes until I need to redo a reboot.

For now, the only solution I've come across uses an older version of AE. It bothers me that this happens to the newest version that I prefer to work with an adverse event to date...

Do not change the bash profile entry. Just install the oracle home. The caution that you need to do is that both the software must have different oracle home (if you use the same directory for both the software). Connect to oracle home you will need to export ORACLE_HOME, PATH and ORACLE_SID.

• Installation and migration Oracle 10 g x 86 to x 64 under SUSE 11 x 64

Hi all

I'm trying to accomplish a proof-of-concept for the migration of legacy x 86 environment running Oracle 10 g in x 64 environment, then upgrade the instance of Oracle 11 g. The first step in doing this is installation of Oracle 10 g in the target environment, which is SLES 11 SP2.

I went though the standard installation procedure; from what I can discern, I installed all dependent packages, including orarun to prepare the environment. I have a source installation package after some minor headaches (unfortunate that Oracle offers them more, because I'm sure there are others out there pertaining to similar projects) and began the process of installation as the oracle user.

To install, I chose to keep things as simple as possible and went with all the default Oracle settings, although I chose to not create a starter database. The only difference is that I have in the House/storage of database mapped via iSCSI to/opt/oracle/product /. After editing, I was sure to change the property of oracle: oinstall.

The first phase of the installation runs without problem. I made the necessary changes to the system so that Setup happily buzzes through the prerequisites and ends the first phase of the installation. However, during the phase of liaison, I meet an error:

«Error in invoking target 'client_sharedlib' of makefile ' / opt/oracle/product/10gR2/db/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk'.» See < journal > for more details".

echo $ORACLE_HOME

/ opt/oracle/product/10 g 2/DB

This who might I be missing here? Any help is greatly appreciated, let me know if there is anything I can provide additional details.

See you soon,.

Greg

Another thing, you might check are property of oracle on all directories in/opt/oracle/product/10 g 2/db and the correct permissions. Also, what is your output of the command 'mount '?

• Questions about the installation of Oracle 11 g

Hi all

I would like to install Oracle database 11g (standalone) on a Linux (RHEL5) shortly... I have done everything to stepped times but this time, I have the following requirements...

(1) TNS_ADMIN environment must NOT be the ordinary $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin... It should be outside the ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_BASE/something like/special_tns/network/admin /... Is this can be achieved by simply setting the TNS_ADMIN environment variable to point to the default location not before installing the software...? I don't think that there is even an option NETCA to specify a value default no TNS_ADMIN environment...

(2) ORACLE_ADMIN environment (IE... bdump, cdump, udump etc.) should NOT be under $ORACLE_HOME... It should be directly under $ORACLE_BASE.

Any ideas on how #1 & #2 could be applied?

Thanks for your time...

Hello;

Of course, to install only the software and then, when you create the database using a file parameter with these changed according to needs.

background_dump_dest
audit_file_dest
core_dump_dest
user_dump_dest

BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST = {path: directory}
AUDIT_FILE_DEST = "directory".
CORE_DUMP_DEST = rΘpertoire
User_dump_dest = {path: directory}

You should be able to set TNS_ADMIN in your operating system profile.

E.g.

# User specific aliases and functions
# Oracle Settings
TMP=/tmp; export TMP
TMPDIR=$TMP; export TMPDIR

export ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app/oracle
export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0
#export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
export TZ=CST6CDT
export ORACLE_SID=TEST
export ORACLE_TERM=xterm
export TNS_ADMIN= Set if sqlnet.ora, tnsnames.ora, etc. are not in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin

export NLS_LANG=AMERICAN;

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:/lib:/usr/lib
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH

# Set shell search paths

PATH=/usr/sbin:$PATH; export PATH
export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin

# CLASSPATH:
CLASSPATH=$ORACLE_HOME/JRE:$ORACLE_HOME/jlib:$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib
CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:$ORACLE_HOME/network/jlib
export EDITOR=vi
set -o vi
PS1='$PWD:$ORACLE_SID >'

Best regards

• Oracle user does not pick up environment (variables & c.)

Hi all

Installed 10 XE on my machine that created an oracle user and dba
Group as expected.

When I do

Su - oracle

I find myself in the oracle user's home directory

/ usr/lib/Oracle/XE

with a bash shell. So, I create .bashrc I set ORACLE_HOME, JAVA_HOME and c.

However, my user is still not picking up his (its?) variables.

Can someone explain to me how to get the oracle user has an appropriate default value
environment - TIA.

Paul...

Salvation;

Go to the home directory of the user and change the.profile(aix,solaris) .bash_profile (linux) and reconnection system it should work

You can turn down enteries

# Oracle settings
TMP = / tmp; Export TMP
TMPDIR = $TMP; export TMPDIR

ORACLE_BASE = / u01/app/oracle; export ORACLE_BASE
ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/product/10.1.0/Db_1; Export ORACLE_HOME
ORACLE_SID = TSH1; export ORACLE_SID
ORACLE_TERM = xterm; export ORACLE_TERM
PATH = / usr/sbin: $PATH; export PATH
PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/bin: $PATH; export PATH

LD_LIBRARY_PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/lib: / lib: / usr/lib. export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
CLASSPATH = $ORACLE_HOME/JRE: $ORACLE_HOME/jlib: $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib. Export CLASSPATH
