  Of course! You can use a BER or interaction text scrolling (easier for the longest text), both have an associated variable (you must set for interaction).

  On other slides, you need to insert the variable, using the X button in the text (shape or legend) container properties panel. You must be in mode to see the text-editing button. I do not post a screenshot, because you don't mention what version you use, and its location is different in CP8 from previous versions.

  I am using Captivate 5.5.  I need to get the answer that the user types in for a slide of questionnaire short answers appear on another slide later in the presentation.

  I tried to put it in a box of text entry in order to be able to use a variable of the for show later, but I can't get the text in the text entry box.  The only option I have found to get a text entry box that encapsulate had to do a short answer quiz.  However, now I can't assign a variable so that the answer appears on a slide later in the presentation.

  Any suggestions?

  It could be done with a short answer question, but think it will be easier with BER as you tried. You must enable "Show scrollbar" in the accordion Options for the text.

  I have movies as part of my presentation that start with black and then fade toward the top (the build is in the film, not applied in KeyNote). I put a poster frame for the movies it's seconds, after having melted upward, so that I can tell what movie it is.

  However, in Keynote, the poster frame flashes briefly, and then the film plays with degraded sound of black. How can I avoid Flash first of the poster frame, but have always displayed in the box of my presenter?

  It is a by-product of the unfortunate to use a poster frame which is not the first frame of the video.

  One solution is to:

  • place a rectangle on a new slide and dimensions form to cover all of the video image
  • Add the video to the slide
  • Set the color black or another color if appropriate
  • Add a Build Out with a dissolution or blur effect (Inspector > Animation > build on)
  • Click the build command and move the form to the top
  • define the shape with the previous generation

My "slides" being vertical there is plenty of space on each side of my screen landscape size. The extra space is gray and unnecessary.   Break the problem into small steps:

  Step 1. All separators (periods and asterisks) convert the asterisks.

  Formula in B2 (fill down)

  = SUBSTITUTE(A2,".","*")

  Step 2. Find the position of an asterisk in each cell.

  Formula in C2 (fill down)

  = FIND("*",B2)

  Step 3. Extract everything to the right of the asterisk.

  Formula in D2 (fill down)

  = RIGHT (B2, LEN (B2) −C2)

  Step 4. Convert the text to numbers re using the VALUE function.

  This table has a header row and footer of the line, so the SUM in E9 apply to all cells in the body.

  I used Keynote (on my MacBook Pro... juts a few months) several times recently, but the last time I gave a presentation, I couldn't advance slides. I tried both my remote clicker and arrow keys and neither will not work. I tried to restart the computer, and that did not help. Later, I opened a PowerPoint presentation, and it worked fine. I tried to create a new test Keynote presentation, and the arrows are still not working. Any ideas?

  Try to reset the Keynote as follows:

  Perform all the steps in the order listed

• Using a cell in another formula of duration

  I try to get a moving percentage, that shows a daily update that the completion percentage is for a period of 12 months. I entered the start date in a cell and the function of the DATE in the next cell, then the formula duration in the third cell, showing the answer in days. When I try to make the formula simple percentage (and Yes, the cell is properly formatted) by taking the amount in cell LENGTH and dividing by 366, I don't get either nothing - no formula recorded in the cell, or something that looks like a 1:02:45.3 response time or something like that.
