Refuse to register my com

I'm trying to recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP startup, but I got access denied when I tried to type the commands provided by the microsoft Web site at the Recovery Console prompt (black screen with C:\WINNT >). The error message that I continued to see is at the beginning:

Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

What should I do?

Is is extremely unlikely that this register you really missing or corrupt in spite of what the error message said.  The real problem is more likely to be just that XP cannot find or read files

For this error, I would always start by chkdsk /r from the Recovery Console.  Who can fix you right up.

It seems that your system is Windows 2000 convert (?).  Is that what we need to understand about this configuration?

It seems that you agree the RC good however.

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes pulling and buttons power).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.


If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).
There is zero logic to start try to copy files to a hard drive with a corrupted file system so corruption of file system must be fixed first using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk can solve your problem completely.
Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.
Start the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD, or create a bootable CD from the Console of the Recovery XP (no XP media required).
A CD of XP Recovery Console is not the same as the recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.
If you have any bootable CD to run the XP Recovery Console or that you are not sure what type of bootable CD you have, can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and don't forget (no support for XP not necessary).
If you need instructions to create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console, we can predict that too (just ask).
After booting into the Recovery Console, you should be in this folder:
C:\WINNT
For each of your hard disk partitions, you must then run:
Chkdsk /r
For example, at the Recovery Console prompt, enter:
CHKDSK c: /r
Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.  It may take a long time to complete or seem to be 'glued '.  Be patient.  If the HARD drive light flashes, it's something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.
The chkdsk/r must be completed without error, you may need to run several times until it does.
Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer and the report with your progress.

    Tiara installation was corrupted.

    A repair installation has not changed anything,

    However full uninstall and re-installing brought success.

    Now it works now as expected, even with the setting of "any CPU".

  • With instant full VM LUN and now the virtual machine will not start or register

    I have a case here, where we have a virtual machine that quickly filled the logic unit number and the snapshot is currently 110 GB.     I also tried to copy virtual machines directory down to a local PC and run via VMware Converter, but I get the message "the source VMware Consolidated Backup"filename.vmx"has a missing catalog file.

    The problem (according to the newspaper) is AXAPTA_1-000001 - delta.vmdk no AXAPTA_1-000002 - delta.vmdk (the error on the second snapshot is probably because of the broken parent snapshot).

    The descriptors are ok, which means that the VMDK itself is broken.

    If you do not have a backup, you can try the following:

    -Copy the files in another data store

    -change the second snapshot descriptor to point to the basedisk as the parent

    -Try and mount the drive

    -If you're lucky, you should be able to recover at least some data of

    -If the disklib is complaining again then the two snapshots are broken - which is unlikely

    Depending on how old the second snapshot (the older one is better it is) the method above will not help.

    Hello! Using Firefox 3.6.3, Vista 32 bit.
    I use Gmail with 6 accounts. Firefox refuses to register an account and its password. I already have removed three rarely used ones, but still account (my wife) that I have to enter manually each time.
    I checked the exceptions and there is no entry for Gmail.
    This may not really be a problem with Gmai, the bug must sit somewhere in Firefox.
    I hope you can help! It * s a b... nuisance of seizure that counts manually a couple of tiems maybe someday.

    I tried to launch a new campaign in 3 bag after beating the HUN. I created a new American character and flew the 1st mission.   • BlackBerry smartphone address book RSET wiped all contacts not only most unwanted

    I'm on a v5.0.0.681 running Curve 8520.

    I recently added an account of electronic mail for my wife. Adding, authorized contacts to be synchronized in.  After deleting the e-mail account, his list of contacts remained (all1700 of them) flooding my contacts.

    I read on these forums using RSET in address book Options would remove the list. He has done, but also deleted all my contacts.  There is no back upwards on a PC or on my SIM card.  I can't even add contacts manually because they refuse to register.

    Any ideas on how to retrieve my contacts, or at least to allow them to be re - enter manually?

    I myself have solved now.

    The problem was that making the RSETE he got rid of BB phone's address book. Actually, address book has not been installed.

    As the dinosaur that I am I am running an older version of Adobe creative suite (CS3).  I want to put this version even on a new computer, but I don't have serial numbers more that my PST file was destroyed when I changed computers in 2009.  When I go on my adobe account it says I have no products - I 47not sure if it's because he's so old or because the account has been established and old e-mail address.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

    If you have registered the software when you initially installed, then it might be available through your Adobe account online.

    It wouldn't be right.  So maybe the new year, I still had my CS3 information available in my account, but he is no longer there today.  If I try to re - enter the serial number (I've had discs) to re-register it comes back indicating that the product is already registered, despite it showing does not like one of my products.  Fishy to me...

    Anyway, if you contact the Adobe Support via chat they would be willing to help you... or they could refuse help based on the product is no longer supported.  If so, try again... There might be a more reasonable available.

  • Error file not found in Temp. Firefox does not start

    When I try to start Firefox (Windows 8.1 desktop computer) I get a full white screen with only the following error message:

    File not found
    Firefox can't find the file at / c; /Users/ username/AppData/Local/Temp/name of file (more than fifty characters long, all the numbers and letters without anything that looks like a real word and ends in /BGAW05 .htm).

    It of only a button to Try Again that never works and some directions to verify the name of the error file, or check if the file has been moved, renamed or deleted. I check to see if the file is no where on C: and it doesn't. It is there no file in Temp even remotely close to that name. I run Firefox with several tabs that are registered and come back when I restart Firefox. So maybe this file in Temp was associated with a deleted tab.

    As I said, this error message comes up full screen, covering the taskbar and not reduce it, restore, close buttons, as if I was running in mode Metro, I never do and will never do.

    Because of this error I can not even start Firefox now, so I had to become a user of Internet Explorer.

    How can I get Firefox to stop looking for this file?

    I found a solution to my problem. Looking in my info on solving computer problems, I noticed that some problems can be resolved by the administrator. I tried with Firefox and it worked. The only damage was that I lost the current tabs. But Firefox seems to work fine otherwise.

    Hello. I have a problem. I am powered iCloud in my Mac. I registered @icloud.com account alternate e-mail for good work with the Apple ecosystem all. But when I open the MAIL on Mac there try to connect to gmail with apple id password. When I'm trying to change the account setting in the preferences MAIL, settings freeze and and I have to shut by force the mail.

    I can't change @gmail to @icloud.

    Have you tried to disconnect from iCloud in system preferences, then reconnect? (Note: do not worry what will remove it from your computer, because it is only the data which is also on iCloud).

    If this does not help:

    Have you tried to use the safe mode (try safe mode if your Mac does not commissioning - Apple Support) to see if Mail app preferences will still freeze?

    I have this stupid the new tab page that I can not understand how to get rid of. I have my home page on facebook, I checked my installed programs and there is no adware or toolbars or anything either. I checked in the menu add-on and its extensions, and there is nothing unusual.     If this is not successful:

    • If Firefox had refused to register your change, check the Control Panel, uninstall a program, to 'Protect search them' and delete it.
    • If Firefox ignores the setting, one of your extensions may be the substitution of her.

    Have you tried different CDs and DVDs from different manufacturers?
    You must proceed as different disks from different manufacturers are not 100% compatible.

    I had similar problems, burning data to CDs or the different DVD

  • HP product registration pop-up ads (how can I get rid of him!)
