• Settings of records that overlap do not work

  When I call my settings of the duplication of records, they are all "replace". I choose another option in the menus, but they do not. I can not any setting other than "replace". This is true for MIDI and Audio settings.

  You really need get a card reader, remove the card from the camera and put it in the card reader connected to the computer. Then, you will be able to do. I doubt prelude can 'see' through the firewire connection.

  Now, management tool of files of your operating system, which is I think "Finder" on a Mac and Explorer (NOT Internet Explorer) on the PC... might be able to 'see' the map of this connection.

  But I think that you really need the card reader.

  Maybe this can help someone else...  I had to simply properly uninstall CS3 and reinstall again after that.  I think what he sort!  I also remember having a similar problem with the Mac at work a couple of years back.  Not sure if it is the same for CS5/CS6.  Here is a link on how to properly uninstall CS3 on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS.  I'm on OS X 10.9.2 but it works beautifully.  Remove from Creative Suite 3 and CS3 products

  OK, so I've created the proxies and even tried to tie but how actually use them.  He always unable to go down to 1/8 ground and it does not play well so I defiantly don't actually use them.

  If you configure the settings to ingest to create a proxy each time you import a new clip in your project, you should be good. For older projects, you may need to go in the project Panel, select clips and then right click and create proxies. There are some things that Pr does not proxy for compositions of AE, stills, matts etc. For the rare case, I give just a glimpse.

  Worse, go into your proxy site, delete the batch and ignore the warnings of the first on the missing proxies and get the first to recreate proxies in the project Panel and go get a coffee (or 10) while coding things!

  I make my own custom proxy cineform ingest particularly convenient setting.   I put it to overlay and burn, bottom right, a png image with the word 'proxy' at 20% opacity. I can see immediately then what first uses a proxy file (switch sometimes seems to take a second or two to implement after pressing the button toggle in the preview monitor).

  On a final note, I would say that if you do not see many benefits with proxy servers, try using a different codec for your proxy - highly compressed formats such as h.264 are very demanding CPU on your computer - even at lower resolutions. Using a codec like Cineform, Avid DnxHD (or apples ProRes - well as not an option in the SOUL under Windows), which have been designed to be used as intermediate (or in your case as a proxy) codecs translates into larger files (but not question that can remove when the project is done) but much less CPU demanding which is excellent for editing. You will also find the cleaning and change of speed of the video is much more fluid than in these codecs that each image is coded separately and not in the groups of pictures (where the changes between frames are coded, so your computer must decode a large number of images at a time just to show an image) for codecs such as h.264.

  I have implemented punch and punch the locators.  I play with the track and making punch.  Logic doesn't store any roll before... .in other words if I try to expand the newly created region a little more early to catch a truck or something thing I got at the beginning, nothing is there.  I know logic is supposed to check in at the beginning just in case... there at - it a setting I'm missing? I tried the pre roll record and set at 6 seconds, but still nothing at start is saved before punch to the point.  Same thing in lieu or in creating records of decision-making.

  

  The count and record Pre Roll above are mutually exclusive. They do not define how at the beginning of the recording begins, but rather where the playhead is set before the start of the recording. If you have a 2 count together bar and position the playhead at 10 bar, and then tap Save. Logic moves the playhead at bar 8, start playback (if there is something to play) and begin to check in at 10 bar. If you select a period of prefetching in a few seconds, the playhead will jump back 6 seconds instead of bars. Neither defines the amount of pre-roll advertising in the in the recorded real audio.

  Auto Punch in is exactly that. When the recording start / stop. There is no registered pre-roll advertising. If you want the extra recording time before or after, then stretch the autopunch bar to make room for the start of start or end at the end.

  You can also use take folders that might be a suitable replacement and allowing campers of any part you want.

  Exception to this rule the there is one and will achieve exactly what you want - but it does not work with automatic punch. It is the punch on the fly...

  prerequisites - you must have "quick fist blow" activated.

  Press play and internally logical starts recording the moment where you press play, when you're ready to punch in, press R and you start recording, when finished, press stop. Logic recorded a region between the points where you started recording and click on stop. However, logic actually starts recording (under the hood) from the moment where you supported the play button, so if you look in the project tree, you can see the entire audio region with only set it collecting points as the region.

  It's only this case that allows you to develop the region in time to include a part any audio region that was "pre" set registration points. It is in fact will contain the entire audio file as soon as the room was pressed to stop, even with quick punch point defined further in the song.

  So say you have 10 bars - you start reading at the bar 1 and 5 bar you quick punch in bar 7 and you punch out. The defined region will show 5-7 bars, however if you develop the starting point of audio regions to the left - you will find that you have saved in fact all the way back to bar 1.

  Sorry, this feature is not available if the autopunch is the method of choice.

• Problem of audio recording with El capitan. 10.11 pops, drops, glitches, static

  I'm running a 2014 macbook pro i7, 16 GB ram, ssd 1 TB and after the upgrade to el capitan, I can't get a good recording out of logic.  I also tried Reaper and too present the problem to a lesser degree.

  I use a similar Macbook Pro, (not sure of it's details) and don't know if this problem (one of MANY) I'm having with registration / my projects to bounce back after the upgrade to El Capitan. I can't tell if it's just audio recordings, or the popular MIDI as well, but once I'm bouncing my project, the result is a high frequency of acute, the added sibilance or effect tinney of everything (especially the song - it's everything I like audio tracks). Bounce same projects before El Capitan of his fine, & it seems more sensitive with MP3, & not as much with the Wav or Aif files.

  Both are i7, everything that exceeds the 16 GB, I'm not sure that you have seen.  Maybe on very large projects.  Logic does not use the GPU at all.  Not sure you'll see a lot of difference.  I'd wait until the next generation of iMac is announced.  Make a bigger jump, to make good investment.

• where are all my logical session files stored?

  I have logic on my computer and save all my sessions on an external hard drive, but on the hard drive I don't see the icon for the session, no files or anything, as in Pro Tools theres a lot, a lot of files for each session, but not with the logic! just an icon of the session and that's it!

  I can't complain, just a logical question works / records in a different way?   It seems easier and more net like this.

  When you save a project in logic, you can save it as a file or a package.

  If you save as a folder - you can see the directory structure of the file system that you expect.

  If you save as a package, the package contains all of the assets of the project.  If you want to see these assets, highlight the package in the finder file, then right click and view the package file. This will show you the files for the session all contained in a nice package file.
