And thanxs in advance

Hey @Pratap-Kumar,.

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that you are having problems with the slow start and the touchscreen is not responding and are looking for a suggestion about the anti-virus software.

I can't make a suggestion for an anti-virus program that the software that you use depends on your personal needs and preferences. There are many free options and paying available and some use more resources than others. A small list of anti-virus applications, I know personally are as follows:

  • Avast
  • AVG
  • Malwarebytes
  • Norton
  • McAfee
  • Panda
  • Kaspersky
  • Avira
  • NOD32

Most of them have free versions, you can try. Your best bet would be to try them until you find one that works best for you.

For your slow start. Have you tried setting a clean boot of your Tablet? This excludes a background applications and services from Windows, which can increase performance and decrease the startup time. You can see how to do this here: clean - boot Windows.

Hope this information helps.

I have a question regarding windows mail. I was send and receive mail with no problems until last Thursday. I can still receive mail, but I can not send. My email is with bellsouth.net and comes in my computer through windows Messaging.  I spent an hour and a half on the phone with bellsouth, and they say that the problem is with my windows mail.  I tried to use a restore date, and that did not help either. I will post a copy of this message, as I keep getting.  Your server suddenly put an end to the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Object 't', counts: 'mail.bellsouth.net', server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, error number: 0x800CCC0F thanks for any help.

Sometimes, WinMail settings get screwed up and you must remove the account and then add it back back.  Make sure first that the antivirus software not interfere (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).   Delete your account completely, then close WinMail.  Then compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Add your account to mail back once again, and then make sure you have the correct settings under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers and | Advanced to what AT & T Specifies to WinMail (or OE).  Then see if it works.

  • Regarding Windows 8 - OEM key built into the BIOS.

I have a pre installed Windows 8 HP Notebook (under warranty).

I get a new HP's HARD drive replacement.

My question is that if I install a Windows 8 Pro OS with a new activation code on Microsoft Store, then the original Windows 8 - OEM key integrated in the BIOS would get replaced by this new Windows 8 Pro activation key?

Or if the OEM of origin incorporated in the BIOS key will remain intact?

    Hello

The original key from Windows 8 will remain integrated in the bios.

  • Correction to the previous question regarding Windows XP PRO for Windows 8.1, & HOW TO UNINSTALL WIN XP PRO?

In fact, it would be a drive replacement (not a download was updated on my desk).  Responded.

    * QUESTION UNANSWERED, MUST HOWEVER HOW DO I UNINSTALL WINDOWS XP PRO? (&).

Any advice greatly appreciated. Best regards, Doug

8 must be installed before the 8.1 update. Unless you have a version of 8.1, it is the complete installation of the o/s.

You can not switch to Windows XP.

In all cases, you should go on the forums of Windows 8/8.1 and ask your questions there.

  • Regarding windows update...

Can someone tell me why windows will update your computer without your permission. I was in the middle of play the Sims 3... were not spared. Set Windows to update by itself. I lost my whole game I had played for 3 hours. Its supposed to prompt you, but if your game a game how can you see the prompt? It's not fair. I'm sure there are a few settings, I don't know maybe... but that doesn't help me now. It should never restart on its own... Well I guess I should have bought a mac. Your right windows its my fault. Should just have you thrown out the window and buy a mac. Haha...

Can someone tell me why windows will update your computer without your permission.

Because by default Windows set up should automatically search, download and install the updates at a specific time. The reasoning behind this behavior is that it allows to protect the systems that users would never install updates without it and therefore, benefits the entire internet community by limiting the number of vulnerabilities that can exploit the poor guyz .
One may legitimately ask, how this practice worked in real life as opposed to the theory?
It will surprise some people to discover that he shot on the number of systems infected as opposed to not having the update automatically as default setting .
And, when the critical security updates are installed while the files that they update are in use, the system is still vulnerable to the exploit, it covers and in a State known as a mixed state . Of that mixed state can lead to serious instability.

Windows Update tried to inform you of a pending restart but you were playing a game and can not see the prompt. You must set the update notification before the download and installation of updates for more "control", as the MS likes to say.
All editions of Windows Update settings can be changed via the Windows Update icon in Control Panel.
In XP, update can be set to notify before download and prior notice to the installation of the updates.
In Vista/Win7, there is only one prior notification for the download and installation of updates.

If you think that Macs are more easy to use update, then suggest you check the results of a quick search of the forum of Snow Leopard

  • 2 year + old gateway machine is suddenly popping up messages regarding Windows 7 is not valid not - how can I prove it my installation is valid?

I get a message on a bridge that I bought 2.5 years ago at Frys in Renton, WA - all of a sudden the messages began to appear on Windows 7 is not invalid.  I had the computer here in Italy for 2 years - it has been working well. The sticker on the machine said 'Win 7 Home Prem OA - Acer Group'.  I tried to use the "windows genuine advantage" forum on social.microsoft.com, but the help guys wasn't able to resolve the problem (see http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/7ca496e8-f998-4e1b-bf48-328db7864dc7)

    Any suggestions?

No problem - except that Support MS once again failed miserably to even understand the problem and even less to repair.

  • Bill Gates can support for damage windows make updates for pc?

I recently posted a help topic. After downloading the updates on my Windows XP computer, it turns off then will restart on its own. I had some suggestions to solve the problem. If Gates thinks I'll stay here all day to solve a problem that is actually based in the updates they can think again.

I don't want answers from unskilled geeks who think they are engineering I want windows to take responsibility because it is defective updates. They asked me what updates was installing I ffs there are dozens, how can you expect I note the faulty update. More than 60 updates have been downloaded, you expect me to download each individually (in order to find the faulty update) absolutely not.

It is the responsibility of Windows to inform us of the faulty update.

This happened to my computer 12 months ago that an update has been recognized as defective. I went to the thread of responses and informed of the update. At this time a message showed by saying Windows are aware of this defective update and removed.  Is it not high time that Gates and his lackies has apologized for the mess this update creates and we inform that updates is causing our computers restart on its own?

Don't send me more stupid, ridiculous suggestions is to say uncheck the auto restart button, go to administrative tools - management logs etc. FFs do you think I have nothing better to do.

I have read several posts regarding windows restarts without permission, a poor person has lost hours and days of work of the Academy. I am now looking at buying an Apple computer like many many people have told me, and rightly so, there is no problem with viruses, worms or updates. For the geeks who sent me suggestions reply with your review of the kind just Apple updated issues?

If your system seems to be restarted by itself, it seems that you need so that you can see what is happening:

XP is configured to restart automatically on some system failures, you will need to disable this feature for the information of the blue screen of death (BSOD) will remain on the screen for you to see.  You must also configure XP to create a memory for each BSOD dump file, so you'll have a crash dump file to watch later if debugging more is necessary.

If your system crashes later, the information you need will always be on the screen and then you can use the information in the dump files memory to understand what the problem is and fix it.

Disable automatic restart in case of system error

XP restarts on system failure, so automatically configure your system so it does not, then you can see the error message.

Configure your system does not automatically restart on system failure and to create a crash dump file when it crash.

Right click my computer, properties, advanced, startup and recovery settings.

    In the system failure section:

Put a check mark in the box "write an event to the system log.
Put a check mark in the box "send an administrative alert.
    Uncheck 'automatically restart '.

In the Write debugging information section select:

    Partial dump (64 KB)

    Set the directory small dumpster:

    %SystemRoot%\Minidump

Click OK, OK to save the settings.

Restart your computer and wait for the next reboot/crash.

The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.
Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

  • Windows could not complete the format

can someone help me because can not format my USB what should I to do there at - it something I can do for my USB

    Hi, andiqehaja,

    Follow these easy steps:

It would be better if you could mention your OS? If it is XP, it cannot format the USB key as the USB key can contain a virus autorun. Scan your USB flash with a reliable antivirus program and quality (for example Avast free Anti-virus). Then, try again. Or try another OS (e.g. Windows 7). In this regard, Windows Seven has more power to format your USB key.

  • Basics of Windows Messenger

I have a new guy silly question regarding Windows Messenger on my XP Tablet. I Messenger defined in preferences to run Windows Messenger when Windows starts, but it is not that. After that my office is done loading, I have to click the Windows Messenger icon in the all programs list (it is not an icon in the taskbar near the clock) and then I have to click to connect. All items are checked in the Preferences tab.

So why didn't it starts itself when I connect Windows (I am the only user on this pc) and why is it automatically connect me?

Have you tried going to the preferences and by unchecking the box, restart the system and then go to connect and preferences, and then select the check box and restart. It could be that it just didn't register. You also have to get automatically in to make sure that both boxes ticked on the first page. Remember me and remember my password.
