Reinstall Win7 with Digital River iso and upgrade license?

I have a dell computer shipped with XP. A few years ago, I upgraded to win7 by buying a license to upgrade through the microsoft store.

They gave me the download link no longer works. I downloaded the full win7 Professional x 86 version of digital river, but I don't know if it will work.

Can I format my hard drive and reinstall win7 using the iso Digital River, my win7 upgrade license key and my xp license key?

As long as you have a license (product key) for Windows 7 Professional, Digital River download will work.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Windows 7 installed by Digital River iso, problem with my key

Okay, so I had Windows 7 installed on my laptop and the hard drive has gone bad. During the process of trying to fix it, I tried to reinstall Windows 7 using the Digital RIver .iso file.

I got a new hard drive today and put in place, put in the disc of Digital River Windows 7 install and performed the installation.

Everything is good except for the fact that my system says that it is impossible to activate Windows 7 help.

So, using the key of Windows 7 that I had with my laptop (on the sticker below) I tried again.

I did a search online and I * think * that somewhere during the installation I should have told that installation has an 'Upgrade' or something.

I guess he then asked for my key and everything would be fine.

If this is the right way to do it, then I can always reinstall but I would find it rather another way to recognize I am owner of a valid key of Windows without having to go through all set up again.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Your problem is that, for some reason, the system is unable to properly read the table SLIC in BIOS, what is required in order to triggered the key OEM_SLP with which the computer came installed.

The normal solution is to change the key for that on your COA sticker - but you say that you are unable to read the key here.

In such circumstances, are the only things you can do

    (1) all reformat and reinstall using the manufacturer's recovery media
    (2) purchase of a new license for Windows (or a new computer)

Options are very limited now because the ISOs digital river are not available.

Your best bet is to find someone with a disc retail of Windows 7 Professional and use it or ask for filter replacement.

  • Can I restore the backup Windows XP on a new computer with Windows 7 COA and upgrade to Windows 7?

    Original title: upgrade question.

I currently have a PC running XP in a system with an IDE drive. The system has many applications that the company has moved the installation discs, so I need to move the contents of the entire disk to a new system. I was about to do the following:

System backup with a recovery boot disk, in this case a USB.

Restore the entire operating system to a new system that will have a SATA drive in it. The new system will have a COST for Windows 7.

Start the XP and upgrade to Windows 7.

My question is, will it work or the absence of the COA of XP on the new system will prevent me to install?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Short answer, "no, this will not work."

It is unclear what you mean by 'backup' and 'restore', but it seems that if you are referring to the creation of a disk image or a clone of disk on an external drive and then either restore the image or cloning to the new computer.  Assuming that both of these computers was provided with Windows pre-installed, this process will almost certainly result in a facility that cannot be 'activated '.  In addition, unless the software you use has something like Acronis Universal Restore, restore the image from your old computer to a player in a new computer with a different hardware simply will not work.

In addition, the lack of an XP license is not the issue.  There are several problems with the process you describe, but basically, an "upgrade" from XP to Win 7 requires a "custom installation" which means that applications should be re-installed.

  • Reinstall win7 with a new HD

    Hi all

just ordered a new sata drive to replace the hd broke for my W510. I'm trying to install win7 on it, but it seems that win7 doesn't recognize the drive and ask for a driver. (The BIOS recognizes the drive).

so the question is how to install win7 on the new drive? where to download the driver for it? What is the issue of win7?

anther thing I've tried is to restore the Acronis backup to the new drive, but after that the restoration process is complete, windows does not start with the error message "BOOTMGR is MISSING", is there a way to fix this? (while it save my time to reinstall everything from scratch.)

    Thank you

What has your reinstall media? If you use a USB stick, plug it into the yellow USB port on the back instead.

  • L 10/102: connection with WLAN graphics card and upgrade problems

I need some information. I have a Satellite L-10/102. I would like to change the graphics card of 64 MB to 128 MB. Is this possible? Second, I can not connect to the wireless network. The error message looks like "your device is not connected. When I try to connect I get other error messages. Could someone help me on these two problems? Thank you.

    Hello

The solution for your RAM graphics card will depend on what manufacturer of BIOS you have.

On my A30, I increased the allocation of RAM graphics in the BIOS (Phoenix) from 64 to 128 by changin the setting of the AMU. (The options available are 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB).

I think that some other BIOS manufacturers do not include this option.

  • Digital River downloads do not work

    Hello.

Official download any ISO from Digital River do not work. Is there any other place where I can get a copy of DVD for my legally purchased Winows 7?

Please advise or tell these guys to fix it. Apparently, from what I've seen here, they have problems for a long time.

And no, it's not my connection. I tried several places, several computers.

    Thank you.

To the best of my knowledge Microsoft has or had a contract with Digital River to provide the services of download that have to be renewed periodically.

It seems that Microsoft has chosen not to renew the contract at the moment and it is likely that they may not in the future (IMO) like Microsoft for the first time installed this new recovery software for Windows 7 page.

If you have a friend with a version of "Retail" from the installation DVD (should be the same as your key was for: Home Premium, professional or Ultimate) it will work with your OEM key.

  • Vostro 3550 wireless turns off after reinstall win7

I reinstalled win7 on my vostro 3550, and now I have no wireless on WLAN connectivity.

Diagnosis of Win7 tells me to turn on wireless capabilities, but when I run Wi7 Mobility Center, the without thread appears, but there is no option to turn on the radio.

It's a Dell 1702 b/g/n A00 install folder picked up dell support pages.

The chipset driver for the chipset HM67 is also installed.

Everything worked until the relocation is not a hardware error.

I suspect that the resource of win7 DVD at the origin of the error.

Anyone with the same problems or a solution to my problem?

The magic word is "Fn F2". This function disables / enables radio on the wireless network card. It so there's no way to turn the radio power in the selection of the drivers of the setting, but only a material implementation on "Fn F2"

    A few possibilities:

    • Contact the manufacturer of the computer for help.
    • Using another computer, go to the computer manufacturer web site and download the drivers for your computer model.  Transfer them to your computer using a USB, external drive, CD, DVD, etc.

You need not install CS2 if your real intention is to install CS5.  You should be able to simply provide the serial number for CS2 as the eligible product when you activate CS5.

  • Pure install W7 Pro 64-bit and activate with a product key and license of W7 pro upgrade.

As part of the upgrade of the hard drive in my laptop, I want to do a clean installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  My current license is an upgrade to W7 Home Premium 64 bit I bought after getting the laptop (several years ago).

Can I install the ISO Digital River Win7Pro64 I downloaded and activate it using my current license?

Only if the Windows 7 Professional 64 bit license is an upgrade or full version, not an Express upgrade.

If it is, then Yes, you can download Windows 7 Professional 64 bit from Digital River and use it with your product key.

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it
