Hi my,.

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

According to the request, we understand that you are looking for a recovery media for your ThinkPad W540.

I'm sorry to tell you that it is not as such a link to download the recovery media. Recovery all media comes with Windows pre activated, so we will not provide download for that option. You will need to purchase it through our Lenovo reseller.

I hope this helps.

  • How to reinstall win8 on laptop?

What else do I have to activate myself install the OS on laptop?

Maybe this should be displayed in the repair section, in any case, here's my problem.

My laptop could not load once I tried to move from win8 to win8.1, he comes himself stuck in a restart loop where he claims he met error starting of win8.1, will collect information and restart; but he is never able to get back in the mode window after 8 hours. I tried press F2, F4, F8 and F10, and none is able to bring me the menu of the BIOS to boot from USB or DVD. After learning that the win8 product key has been pre-build in the BIOS, I decided to just erased the hard disk and reinstall win8 using the win8 OEM backup disk that was my friend. I took out the hard drive and quick format using a computer laptop win7 last night, put the backup in the computer samsung laptop, power, I get to the blue screen of the "recovery" with 0xc000000f error code. Press ESC, now I have access to the BIOS and disable secure boot and dvd move upward in the boot sequence... but, that's all I can do, on the existing from the BIOS, I've been to this "Reovery" screen without access to BACK DVD or USB. What else should I do to install the OS on this laptop?

I got this laptop from samsung which is preload with win8 about 1 year, but it was refurnished by bestbuy and backup/system partition was missing. I made attempts to create the backup drive using this 'win7-file recovery' option in win8, but is useless once I tried to reload and doesn't have it and can not find this copy now. I have the folder windows.old in backup before formatting and a relief win8 disc but no use right now.

Any advice will be helpful, and if I can't reinstall win8 to the end, maybe I can try to use linux, LOL

If you have another count, you could do the installation media on a USB stick or something (link here). Regarding the BIOSI would try just spamming the "F1 - F12" and "Esc" keys or search how to access BIOS/UEFI.

Last week I tested it on my Satellite U940 and my answers are the following:
    > is it possible to completely format the hard drive to install a "clean" Windows 7
    Yes.
    > after doing this, it will be possible to reinstall Windows 8 USB recovery media that I created.
    Yes.
    > Is Windows 7 installation problem? (on the new UEFI; piece of equipment...)
Generally no, it isn't a problem. Only problem may be installing some drivers, tools and utilities, but I think that you will be able to install it.

    Hello

You must update the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) for the UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) updated. I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of your computer to update the BIOS.

Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Blue screen because of the WiFi - Satellite with Win8 L855

    Hello

I bought my Toshiba Satellite L855 almost 2 months ago and I was faced with the following problem:

Whenever I am connected to a wireless connection, after 2 minutes of use, windows gives me the blue screen and its always the same error code. It is the Atheros wireless card.

I updated the drivers and windows 8 came standard with the laptop.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you

Have you noticed this problem for the first day or later? I mean the preinstalled recovery image contains good drivers and it is tested for this kind of problems should not happen. Have you changed a few WLAN options?

If possible, reinstall Win8 once again using test and drive recovery option HARD with own pre-installed factory and OS settings without changing anything.

  • Win8 resettlement after the gaffe of Hyper V

I bought a 660 a few days ago and wanted to play with the addition of a virtual machine.  I installed Hyper-V on the MS site, but I need to have installed on my windows boot partition because now it start to Hyper-V and that's all. I get a nice DOS prompt and that's all.

Looking around on the disc via the guest of the BACK of my friend, I can see Windows and Windows.Old on the C:.  Because I can see the Windows.old I hope there is some way I can cancel my little experiment.  (On the plan positive, I had not installed something meaningful on the machine, so I can afford to do to jump immediately.)

So, how can I reinstall Win8?

    Thank you!

You can order filtering alternatives by calling support or using this form (I recommend the form first):

    support.Dell.com/.../backupcd_form

The drivers disk does you nothing without the OS disc.

You might be able to 'restore' by following the instructions below, but you would still need an OS disc to do:

    support.Microsoft.com/.../971760

You can also upgrade to Windows 8 Pro and run the same software of Hyper-V in Windows 8.

If you want to dual-boot, you just need to remember that every OS needs its own partition.

  • Recently, I buy a new computer dell laptop... There Gilbert win8

Recently, I buy a new inspron to computer dell laptop 15 with win8. So anyway my os will be corrupted what am I supposed to do. How do I reinstall win8?

    You have two options:

If you want to reinstall Windows 8, which means remove applications and personal files and settings, you can use the reset and refresh. This is equivalent to a clean install.

To do this, follow these steps:

    · Press the Windows key + i on your keyboard to show the charms (if you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and drag your finger to the left)

    · Click settings

    · Click change PC settings

    · Click general in the left column

    · In virtue remove all and reinstall Windows, click Start

Then follow instructions that will be provided on the screen to reinstall Windows on your PC.

You can also create a disc of recovery right now:

  • Satellite C855D-12j - BSOD and HDD is not available

I have a Blue Screen Of Death (less blue with Windows 8) very often, and when restarting the computer does not find the HARD drive, I have to press the power button until it is cut and if I'm lucky, it identifies the HARD drive during the reboot.

I try to repair with the tools of Windows 8 but nothing change and it's the same BSOD when I try to install Windows 7 or Ubuntu.

I had to send my computer to support?

By default the BIOS settings and reinstall Win8 again. Test it and if it has same problem occurs again, I highly recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider. It's the new notebook with valid warranty so it should be fixed for you.

BSOD can be related to hardware or even software so problems if the gift factory settings help t I think service should check it out.

I formatted my laptop and then reinstalled Win8.1 but I lost all the drivers that have been installed, when I bought the product. Most of the drivers have been replaced when I updated my windows. Some drivers like AMD, Realtek audio player graphics driver have not been installed. Where can I find this driver and also give me some tips to install this driver.

    Hello:

You should be able to use the drivers W8.1 of ac000-15 t on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-ac000-notebook-PC-series-(touch) / 7777391/model/8341289

You want the AMD and Intel graphics drivers.  Install the Intel one, reboot the PC and then install the AMD one and reboot the PC.

This package provides the driver that allows graphics Intel high definition (HD) in the notebook models that are running an operating system supported. If the video output of high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

    File name: sp71257.exe

This package provides the graphics driver AMD/Intel switchable high definition (HD) for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance.

    File name: sp71254.exe
