  Hi all

  I installed Microsoft Word 2003 a few months ago on my laptop. It works fine and all, but when I go to open it, a pop up appears which is headed "Microsoft Office Word 11.0" in substance "an error has occurred and this feature no longer works correctly. Please run Setup and choose repair... to restore this application. "I click on OK, then Microsoft Word opens and everything works fine. Is there a way to get rid of this embarrassing fiasco of start?

  If you perform a reinstallation of Word, try right-clicking on the actual Setup.exe and choosing the option "Run As Administrator"?  Perform, even if your user name is an administrator.

  I hope that you do not have too much of your own data personal on the computer yet, because if you used I would suggest that you reinstall the operating system to solve these problems.

  I think that if you look closely, the name given in the message source file actually contains more than one point (period, full stop, '.'). Because this used to be a problem in certain situations, at the time where alone was allowed in filenames, Windows, Windows Live Mail useful converted one of them into an underscore character (underscore, "_").   I have several users who cannot open PDF embeded objects in a word document.  When they click the icon, they get "the program used to create this object is AcroExch.  This program is not installed on your computer... ».  This problem does not appear until we went all to v9 but I can't say for sure they were incorporating pdfs before that.

  I repaired Office 2007, reinstalled Acrobat Pro, confirmed that HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document.7\shell\Open\command is really pointing to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe" '%1' and that this application is not running.  Users are able to open PDF files.  Other PDF files embedded on the same paper work.  It is not limited to a single PDF more, there are several embeded PDF that don't work.  I also noticed that sometimes the embeded PDF opens once, then if you close and reopen, Word gives you the same error.  How can work once and then tell me that it can find AcroExch next, I do not understand.  Ive also tried to open some of these documents with Reader 9 installed on a clean test PC, and they do the same thing.

  I considered the possibility that the doc was somehow corrupted but insert the PDF file in a new document has the same result.  No idea why she was saying AcroExch is not installed regardless if Acrobat Pro or the reader is actually installed and why some PDFs embeded would work and some would not be?  If this does not resolve a reinstallation of Microsoft Office and Acrobat, and it occurs on a clean install, how should I do?

  It seems to me that if I open these documents specific PDF Pro, resave them, then their reembed in Word, this problem does not occur.  After also asking these specific PDF files where created via a PDF function scanning Copier Sharpdesk.  I don't know why they can be opened with reader/Pro directly, but can not be opened as embeded PDF in word without being re-registered.

  This solved the problem for me:

  1. click on edit > Preferences...

  2. click on general

  3. click on default PDF select handler

  4. Select Adobe product: Adobe Reader X (10.0.1)

  5. click on apply

• Upgrade to Word 2007 after installing 8 HR

  I can't check RH8 either, but I was told from RH7 onwards, you can spread the word without the routine of uninstallation/reinstallation of HR.

  The version change applies only to HR for Word, where you have multiple versions of Word installed. HTML HR, it picks up the only or the last version used if you have more than one.

• Doc MS Word 11 won't save

  Since the upgrade to Sierra I can't save a Word of MS Office 11 doc on my iMac.

  I left / restarted / safebooted / tried to save to Documents / tried to save it as a .doc, all to nothing done.

  All other operations look good, like the rest of the suite Office.

  In your example, I can't tell what you are trying to do.

  I'll assume that the word "cat" is your difficulty. If you have each of the letters in an individual text box and then select all and choose align > way. If the letters are not text boxes you have set "basic" for the letter t and maybe "character spacing" to the other letters. Enter these words in the help.

  When you hold down too long, you will get a screen pop up with characters / diacritics.

• Not recognized by Word or Photoshop photo library

  Work on a MacBook and recently installed Sierra 10.12.  Everything worked fine until all applications 3rd party such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, (office 11 14.6.8), Photoshop Elements 10 has ceased to recognize the new photo library.  iPhoto and photo booth developed but not the photo library itself. The actual program pictures works fine. I also see the library by email and online (as a download on shutterfly). 2 hrs with tech does support last night and 3 people later no resolution.  Reinstalled Sierra. No change. Everything is updated.
