  When you have done the clean install, what Service Pack level are you up to? In other words, you have installed SP2 and SP3?

  What version of IE are you using?

  All your drivers are up to date?

  Have you installed a firewall / anti-virus before you connect to internet software and if so, which?

  Hi, I wanted to reinstall Windows XP home on my Satellite Pro L20, but do not have the software that my laptop came with (read the discs lost). I have a valid XP tone (like its stuck on the bottom of my laptop), but no disc so I tired using a copy of a cd of Windows XP home, which did not work, but let me go as far as the formatting of the hard drive.

  So now I use Ubuntu, but want to reinstall Windows. Have valid product key, but no software to reinstall.

  Valid key will not help you. This key belongs to the image recovery and copy included WXP he.
  If you have two options. Either you order original Toshiba recovery image or use Microsoft installations CD key which belongs to this copy.   In your case I'd do an update of the BIOS if you n t have the most recent version, and Yes, you have an Atheros WLAN card, so you need Atheros driver.

  As the title suggests, just upgraded to Windows 10, now indesign does not open. It is interesting to other applications CC open, but no indesign.   Hello, I had actually already tried using the tool unistaller. All uninstalled, then reinstalled, which did NOT work.

  I was upgrade to Windows 8.1 for windows 10.

  I managed to get InDesign to work as follows:

  1. Everything uninstalled uninstaller of windows (and not via CC).
  2. At running the Adobe uninstaller tool (it has not found anything however).
  3. After I installed CC, I noticed that CC has reinstalled the package to redistribute C++ 2008 I've heard causes problems.
  4. I uninstalled then manually C++ 2008 package, but left 2012 and 2015.
  5. Then I installed InDesign. When I installed indesign it installed a few other packages C++, but... Responsible inDesign! Still a bug or 3 but it works at least.

  It worked for me.

Not sure what happened to my cd restore xp but I have a genuine windows xp disk. tried to install this and using the product key from the sticker on my laptop. It comes up saying unauthorized key.  Is this because my laptop is of the Germany and my cd is in English?   Uninstall what you can the normal way via the Control Panel, and then use the CS cleanup tool.  Then try to reinstall. You might want to try an installation download rather than the disc if it continues to fail.

• Satellite Pro L20 - original drive not grateful

  Ive looked for forums and the internet in general but was unable to find anything related to my problem.

  Recently, I removed the my Satellite Pro L20 original hard drive and replaced by a spare part just to test another operating system. I didn't wipe my existing windows of the original OS.

  However, now if I place the original hard drive in the laptop, it does not recognize it in the BIOS at all. The original works of disk of 60Go perfectly in an external USB caddy on the laptop, but used in their own country. At first, thought it might be the drive so I bought a new drive of 250 GB, but again, not recognized.

  Reading, I think that the original drive is an EIDE drive and I don't think that the replacement of 12 GB is drive I put in temporarily. Ive also tried reflashing the BIOS, hoping that might solve the problem, but without any luck again.

  Could you get it someone please let me know how to solve this problem?

  This s very strange problem you have deleted first disk of 60 GB, then you have reinserted and the BIOS doesn t recognize now 60 GB HARD drive.
  Am I wrong?

  One of my friends had a similar problem. The original internal HDD was not recognized by the BIOS. After a lengthy investigation, he set the BIOS to the default settings and restarted the laptop.

  I've been running my L20 Pro Satellite for two years now, quite happy. Unfortunately, in the last 3 months, he began to misbehave. • Satellite Pro L20: battery not charge when the power adapter is connected

  all advice appreciated.

  I had a Satellite Pro L20 for about 18 months. Recently, battery does not charge when the power adapter is connected. The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile. However the ACPI often said that AC is "offline."

  There are two recent occurrences that coincide with this problem, I try to eliminate:

  1. my friends rat chewed by the feeder for pets! Power is Mobile OK insofar as he fled sector - the rat seems to have simply chewed by the outer cover (I see some threads, but I think that is just a shield, although I'm not an electrician).

  2. I put the laptop in hibernation for the first time. That seemed to mess up the system a bit, which was what initially drew my attention to the problem. This question is a bit complicated because I'm under Linux (Xubuntu).

  I updated the drivers etc from windows when I bought the laptop. Never had any problems until now and have been running linux for centuries. Also, I have mainly the laptop the power supply turned off, but do not remove the battery (is that really a problem these days?)

  I obviously need to replace the adapter, but is - it is likely (and how I can check) that the battery was borked until?

  First, please check if the other are lit.
  If the AC led and power led are on the adapter sector is ok and it provides the power to the laptop.

  If the battery LED is yellow, this means that the battery is not fully charged and if the Green led changes then recharging is caught and the battery has been recharged.

  So I really don t see any problems with the charge process.

  Maybe the battery is old and so you cannot use it for an extended in such a case only the replacement of the battery could help.
