reinstalling Windows 7 or 8 on my laptop wiped, that had originally Windows 7

My sister recently gave me his old laptop that she had to restart & wipe due to bad performance etc unfortunately our parents threw the original hard disk. the laptop is only a year old & worked on Windows 7, it is preferable to install again to get up & running & y at - it a specific version, I need to get? any help appreciated :)

what you can do is to look for the model of the laptop and access the site web manufacturer and look for the drivers and software available for the windows version

I wonder why did its parent threw the hard disk and could be bad and it's something to ask of them but you can get a new HDD for a laptop and not a hd because of the size of this office are different and do you intend to put on a w7 or w8 and if yes for the w7 get a 2 TB hard drive because he cannot read above 2 terabytes but w8 can work with 3 terabytes and I read about this in another forum not here but there was a problem with people getting 3 terabytes on their w7 is not recognize the 3rd terabytes and it reads only 2 terabytes

as for the version of windows, you will need to get a full license to install on your new hard drive
Since the new hd will not have a top BONE

    I have a HP Pavilion g7 - 1205ev laptop with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.

I bought a new hard drive, so I had to reinstall Windows.

After installation, the laptop cannot connect to internet by wifi or Ethernet. After trying the troubleshooting it says that windows do not detect a network card installed properly.

In the Device Manager, I see that there is an exclamation to these exact components:

    Ethernet controller

    Network controller

    PCI device

I'm trying to reinstall windows XP Professional on a Compaq HP 6735 s Notebook PC. I have the original XP installation CD but it has a bad scratch on the back. Because of the scratch it will not load the files. The first two file it will not load are cpqsap01.sys and cyycoins.chm. I managed to reinstall XP from a DELL installation CD, but of course he says that it is a test of only 30 days. This person does not want to upgrade to VISTA (I have this OS drive).

Product name: Pavilion m6-1061er reinstall Windows on the laptop

    Serial number: [personal information deleted]

Windows7 Home was broken, but the hardware is OK. I have no disk with Windows 7 Home.

I have the sticker on laptop with symbols

    Product key: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

    [Personal information]

My request is: how to install Windows 7?

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a very respected source (Digital River).

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

You may need, additional drivers and software are here.

  • How can I reinstall windows after replacing the hard drive? Laptop did not come with a disc.

My internal hard drive went bad in my laptop, easy to replace and relatively inexpensive. However, the laptop came not with the windows disk. So, how can I reinstall windows once I replaced the hard drive?

Basically, you have two choices. You can communicate with the person who made the computer and see if they can provide either a set of Windows Vista restore disks (I would assume) or an installation for Windows Vista (probably OEM) DVD. If the second choice, determine if you will need to download device drivers or software packages from their web site. OR, you can purchase the operating system of your choice, retail. The wisdom is that, if this is your choice, you see if you will need the device drivers and get those of the web site of the manufacturer.

Once you have the disks, install in the usual way.

  • I need to reinstall Windows Vista but the sticker on the laptop product key is not readable.

My partner has an Acer laptop running Windows Vista Basic 32-bit. He needs a complete reinstallation of Windows because there a lot of problems now. The problem is the sticker of the product key on the laptop is often illegible. I tried to use the Magic Jelly Bean finder key to resolve this issue, but the key does not match what the letters which are readable on the sticker. I tried this on my own laptop and had the same problem (sticker key did not key on the computer). Neither laptops have had Windows reinstalled before. I learned that the keys posted by Magic Jelly Bean are in fact license keys of Volume factory installed by the OEM rather than found on the stickers product keys and Volume license keys cannot be used to reinstall Windows.

His cell phone doesn't have a recovery disk or a recovery partition, but even if she did, given its current state, a complete reinstallation is what it takes. Her cell phone is not come with a Windows Installation DVD, either, but we can borrow one from a friend who owns a disk with the same version of Windows as his laptop and I know that works perfectly. We just need a way to recover the product key that was on the sticker. We are not ready to buy a new copy of Windows that we already have a license (through the purchase of the laptop) key.

PS I remember that I helped my father after reinstall Windows XP. We tried both the key on the sticker of his PC and the one that we found on the PC itself (Volume key). In the end, only the key on the sticker has worked. This confirms that a Volume license key cannot be used to reinstall Windows.

    Hello

We cannot help you with your product key and there are no records of loan use

recovery discs are brand and the specific model

and product key finder programs will not help you find product keys that you can use vista preinstalled in these circumstances

to reinstall vista use either disk or recovery partition recovery manufacturer, since they do not normally require an input key product on your part

The manufacturer must provide a way to reinstal vista or by disk or a recovery Partition

    Contact Acer recovery Vista disc

    https://secure.TX.Acer.com/rcdb/main.aspx?brand=Acer

and Acer has a "hidden" recovery partition

Normally with an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the process, or if it is still ongoing, you go to section eRecovery under [programs and search for how to make recovery discs and the use of the recovery partition

  • Brand new laptop does not come with disks of windows, I need to reinstall windows what/where/how do I?

I bought 2 new laptops. Both come with Windows already... so, if I need to reinstall windows... How/where/can do?

    Hello

For future reference, these are VISTA forums you want on the new laptops in.

I suggest other questions about these laptops you ask in the correct Forums.

Here are the General options of relocation for you:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

    See you soon.

  • I want to reinstall Windows Vista, but I do not have a disk when I bought the laptop; I don't have product key, however; What should I do?

My old laptop is now very slow performance, no doubt because it is hopelessly cluttered with unwanted stuff, viruses etc.. So I have tried various methods of cleaning without success, I decided to reformat (all data on it has been transferred to a new laptop) and start from scratch by reinstalling Windows Vista Home (installed when I bought it). But no installation disc has been delivered, although the product no key. is located on the underside of the laptop. What should I do? I could ring you, but I don't have a land line, and a long call on my cell phone would probably cost a fortune. It would be great if you were ringing me to talk me through the process (07760 101610)

    Hello

Sorry, this is not Microsoft and we don't do phone calls that we are for the most part, Windows users help each other here...

Here are the different ways that you can reinstall Vista.

See which is more easy for you.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

So I have a laptop HP which is relatively new. I recently acquired the Virus 2010 Vista AntiVirus Pro. When the malware and spyware could not fix the problem, I decided to do a system restore, which would put the computer to the way it was when I bought it. I backed up the files and do the system recovery. He filled the recovery then said it will re-start to reinstall windows and complete the process.

After the restart as it gets and error that says: "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install Windows, click "ok" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. »

The only option is to click on 'ok', but after clicking it he is trying to reboot once again and the same error comes back. We tried to manually close the laptop and restart, but we always get the same error. I can get the start menu when the information system and the recovery is but to the past is just the mistake.
