Reinstalling windows after disk wipe

I want to give my old 17 inch HP laptop after wiping a disk full.  I have the MS info on a sticker on the underside of the computer and have 4 old marked CD recovery disc 1-4.  When I insert first the one that it is not enough not surprisingly.  Tried to restart with the second in the disk drive, but get a message "" no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key any ", but when I press a key the same message reappears.»  Any help appreciated.

I never tried to burn the CD because I was not 100% sure how to do that and because the ISO file and send it to finally download USB.  Thought I was gold then.  Then, the anomaly of my friends to the millisecond, which refused to recognize that I had spent money on their product when I bought the computer loaded with their program.  At this point I have tried to burn the CD, but decided instead to spend which ended at $30 for three good causes: 1) for help a Somali immigrant Lady of merit very; (2) to preserve my sanity; and, (3) to preserve yours.  Probably, if I were a bit more computer savvy, we would have both had a little more time week last to use, but it should work.  I appreciate a lot the time spent to help me.  Alan

  • Impossible to reinstall windows after having disinfected disc

    Hello experts,

I ran the disk on an elitebook8470p Sanitizer. She completed successfully, wiping everything as planned.

Now I am trying to reinstall windows 7, using the "windows repair disc" I created with the hp utility.

Problem is, there is no option to install windows 7.

Just a bunch of options to repair, diagnose or reinstall from an image (but it has not listed to choose from images).

Don't I have the wrong disc?

Can someone share a list of steps to follow after disinfection drive contest?

    Thank you

    Hello

The repair disk you mention does not contain the files to reinstall Windows 7, it simply provides a way to access recovery and diagnostic option etc.

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order the HP operating system recovery disc.

    Contact HP.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc you using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( that must be the same version that originally came with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a very respected source (Digital River).

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • How can I reinstall windows after replacing the hard drive? Laptop did not come with a disc.

My internal hard drive went bad in my laptop, easy to replace and relatively inexpensive. However, the laptop came not with the windows disk. So, how can I reinstall windows once I replaced the hard drive?

Basically, you have two choices. You can communicate with the person who made the computer and see if they can provide either a set of Windows Vista restore disks (I would assume) or an installation for Windows Vista (probably OEM) DVD. If the second choice, determine if you will need to download device drivers or software packages from their web site. OR, you can purchase the operating system of your choice, retail. The wisdom is that, if this is your choice, you see if you will need the device drivers and get those of the web site of the manufacturer.

Once you have the disks, install in the usual way.

  • How can I reinstall windows after new HD, but don't have windows or recovery discs, I have valid Vista COA and the product key

I have a laptop Acer 4720 with valid product key of Vista Home Premium OEMact and COA label, my problem is the HD is broken and I need to install the new HD and then reinstall windows, but I have not all disks (was on the recovery partition which is good), so what are my options? Can I use any family Vista Edition installation disc Premium and then activate my license key?

    Hi again,

You use the product key on your computer case with the Installation DVD Microsoft process.

As I advised alreasdy, recovery from other manufacturers discs are of no use for this

The only thing is that you may need to make a phone Activation, do it this way and not use auto invite, but hold the line for a person to physically respond to your call.

I would advise not to download an ISO of Vista on the Internet, you will find that they are pirated and malicious programs containing versions changed.

The DVDs are not available from Microsoft.

When I informed 'borrow' that's what I meant. a friend, acquantance workplace, etc.

Or if you know someone with the same model of Acer and Vista operating system, you might try their recovery disks.

    See you soon.

So I have a laptop HP which is relatively new. I recently acquired the Virus 2010 Vista AntiVirus Pro. When the malware and spyware could not fix the problem, I decided to do a system restore, which would put the computer to the way it was when I bought it. I backed up the files and do the system recovery. He filled the recovery then said it will re-start to reinstall windows and complete the process.

After the restart as it gets and error that says: "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install Windows, click "ok" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. »

The only option is to click on 'ok', but after clicking it he is trying to reboot once again and the same error comes back. We tried to manually close the laptop and restart, but we always get the same error. I can get the start menu when the information system and the recovery is but to the past is just the mistake. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I don't know what else to do.

  • Uninstall/reinstall Labview after disk crash

    Hello

The question could have been invited already, but could not find an appropriate response, except to do something risky with the registry windows so I m asking my question here and apologize if a reply has already been given on this forum.

I bought and installed Labview home Bundle a few months ago. Last week, my secondary hard drive, which contains the application crashed, and I do not have a backup of this partition. Windows still runs on a separate DSS and always having traces of installed applications, among which, information about the previous installation of Labview.

"No problem' I think, ' I just re - download the installation package and try to reinstall it, like most other software, which simply replace existing information or re-use of old configuration data." Unfortunately, it did not work, and I have no trace of labview in the Menu Add/Remove Windows (except one "Instrument National software - this is the French version, I got" - brings me just an error when I try to use it, saying that Labview could already being uninstalled).

Re-installing just brings me to an error, as a result:

    -The intallation process goes OK

-The device drivers can not be installed (OK I did not at the time of any device)

-The installation process, explains the installation is ok, but in the end, one "error 2 could not perform action license Labview Application" appears.

-You try to start Lavview gives "the installation of this application is may be damaged. "Use Ad / remove programs in Control Panel to try to repair this program."

Is any "Clean Remover" tool available from the Canadian standard. Looks like a Rube Goldberg machine too me...

Thanks for any help I could get.

    Eric

I'm on the similar when questions re-installation or repair of LabVIEW, and I found that the best way to remove software OR before a re - install is NOT using the Windows Add/Remove utility programs, but to use the NIUninstaller. If you managed to make at least a partial installation of LabVIEW, you probably have the NIUninstaller installed. On my system, it's in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\Shared\NIUninstaller. Run the executable uninst.exe in there and it will remove any items not removed by Windows. Then try a new installation.

    Good luck.

    Dan

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi, thanks for the response. I found something similar on a Q & A of National instruments and already tried to find tha 'InstallValidator.exe' after I re-installed Labview, unfortunately, the NIuninstall folder / files were not installed with the National Instruments on my hard drive, so unfortunately, this solution does not work. I copied the NIUninstaller file (AND ONLY THAT) I found in the folder shared the LabVIEW to work and he give it a try. Don't know if its against National Instruments, policies, license and I apologize if it's, but having an app that I bought and can't install / reinstall is against my own policy. If the resettlement has be done right, the file would have been installed with the beam to origin. I know you if that does no good.

    EDIT:

In fact, it worked. The "InstallValidator.exe" did nothing aprt to tell me that the entrance of registrey was OK, even if it wasn't.

But the "uninst.exe' made work and installation from the Menu of repair that I couldn't access fixed front.

Thanks again for your help guys.

  • Pavilion P6-2469eo: Reinstalling windows after HARD drive crash

Hi, I just bought a defective HP Pavilion P6 known.   After receiving and checking, it appears that the hard drive is faulty.

The machine does not start, I have activated POST messages and now a screen message saying that 'no boot disk was detected, or the drive failed.    The DPS self test fails with code 7.

I disabled the secure boot and can boot from a CD of Linux, so I know that, basically, the computer is still alive

My question is, once I have comes from replacing the hard drive, I can get a copy of replacement windows to HP or do I buy one out of the copy of the Windows Tablet (or install Linux)?

I was told that the machine is two years old and just out of warranty.

    Thank you!

If out of warranty, you will most likely need to buy a set of HP or a partner of HP recovery disk. The good thing is that it's a reasonable price.

  • Reinstall Windows 7, disk failure #2

I decided to upgrade a number of things on my Acer Aspire 5745 before the release of Windows 10 at the end of July.  I upgraded my ram about 3 weeks ago from 4 GB to 8 GB with no problems.  I also bought a new SSD but have not had the time to put in until last night.

I need to do a clean install of Windows 7 on my new SSD.  I burned three Acer eRecovery 'Create factory default disks' on DVD and the drive to 'Create drivers and Applications' without any error.  I shut down my computer, installed my SSD, turned on the computer, entered my BIOS, change the boot order to watch the DVD player first, save the settings, and then restarted.  I put in disc 1 and began the installation process.  He finished and I put in disc 2.  Once a minute, that he said that disk 2 was not, so I have it out and put the new one.  Nothing is done, it doesn't after several attempts.  He just told me to insert disk 2.  Then, I repeated the whole process.  This time I was able to get the disc 1 and disc 2 is installed, but it would not recognize Disc 3.

No one knows what might happen or how I could rectify the situation?

  • Question about reinstalling Windows after virus/malware crashed the system

OK, I'm not exactly super tech savvy but I can manage.  Here's my dilemma.  I clicked a bad link in a Yahoo search and started getting all sorts of flashing messages that my laptop has been infected.  The next thing I know... Windows (I have Vista) crashed and does not now.

Question #1 - so... can I spend $85 and make it my buddy to the computer to reinstall Vista... or can I invest in upgrading to Windows 7?

Question #2-si I do it myself, can I just go ahead an installation of Windows 7 since I have no operating system on it because Vista won't load?

I'd appreciate any help I can get with that.  I really think that whatever it is, I would be smart to buy Windows so I have to drive since it is not come with the laptop or my all-in-one.

    Thank you!!!

    Hello

If necessary, you can record all necessary data (files) by putting the hard drive as 2nd in another computer
or in an external box and copy of the data on the removable memory (CD, DVD, USB key or)
    others).

The physical disks in Vista can be purchased cheaply system machine since you already own windows.
Ask them about Windows 7 as they could also make a case here. Normally, it would be more advantageous for you
to buy the disks of Vista and then upgrade to Windows 7 (unless the system manufacturer has a special offer).
Before upgrade you to Windows 7 make sure that the system and the software will run you on it.

To run the Upgrade Advisor you will need Vista work. Check with your system manufacturer support
and/or support of any specific manufacturer of the device to make sure the drivers are available for your system.
