Relative time

Hi people,

I have a time stamp for events like a "changetime" column in a table. In my iReport, I would like to call 'changetime' as a relative time, like "20 seconds ago", "5 minutes ago" or "there are 40 days". How can I do this for an iReport?

Thank you

There is a predefined for this by their SUMMIT format mask. Should be the last option in the number/Date Format popup LOV in column definition properties.

If the changetime is actually a column of type TIMESTAMP , then this might not work, so convert the value of the column in the query to a DATE:

cast(changetime as date)

The actual function used for this is apex_util.get_since(p_date date) return VARCHAR2 type if you want to experiment, but using the number/Date Format would be the preferred approach.

  • Conversion of a relative time counter

Hello!  I have a pretty simple question, if someone has a moment.  I have a while loop with a 1000ms wait inside, as well as some other stuff that is not relevant to the question.  Since my incrementer essentially account seconds due to the presence of the 1000ms wait, I would take the built in incrementer (i) and use it to display the relative time elapsed since the while loop began.  This loop will run for 3 hours, so I would like to display in hh: mmS format.  So basically, I'm looking for a way to convert the meter in a time value.  Any thoughts?  I know that the wait function is not exactly accurate, but that's ok.  I don't need to be 100% accurate in this vi.  Just a rough estimate will be fine. Looks like there should be a relatively simple way to do this, but I can't understand it...  Thank you!!

Well, I just noticed a difference between 8.5 and 8.6. With 8.6, I put the relative time display format. Other that that, I don't know what would cause it to run backwards. Your postal code.

  • Reset relative time of graphic waveform

    Hi all

I created a table of wavefrom which starts from a relative time of 00:00:00 at the start of the vi and visualize that the waveform versus time since the start of the vi.

I made this using an example that I found in the forums or by subtracting right now relative to the relative time of the waveform, as shown in the attached diagram

When I stop the vi and start it again normally it starts from scratch and so on.

the problem I want to the table in order to start from scratch each amount fixed time (ex: 50 seconds) and does not need to stop the vi and restart it in order to start from scratch back!

I thought a lot about how proceed for many and I tried many things but I could not, have an idea on how to do?

I feel that the solution will be simple to many people, but please forgive me coz I'm new to labview and its my first project with her

First of all thanks a lot for your answer.

I just that explain how can I replace this tunnel with a shift register, where the sr will be data, coz the 'Get current date and time' is in fact placed out of the loop, also how I can change this value to a structure of housing, I'll put the 'get date and time' in a loop or in a business structure? coz I actually tried in ways that looks like that, but it did not work.

I would appreciate a lot if you showed me what you mean by a schema or on the actuall vi that I fixed to the Terminal.

    Thanks in advance

I reserve this type of service to my paying customers.

I would turn around and invite YOU to post a picture of what you have tried and let us comment based on your efforts.

I'll help you get started with two suugestions and a question.

    (1) you can click the tunnel entry and select 'replace with shift register.

    (2) If you look at your code in execution, highlighting mode, you can see data comes and goes when.

    Now for your question!

After I look at the code to run where it will take another "Get time" node should be located to obtain a new value, WHILE the loop is running?

As I said, post advise images of what you're trying to do and offer us on this basis.

  • Convert relative time in absolute

    Hello

I want to convert my string of relative time in a channel of absolute time. How this could be done?

My relative time string has the format 01/01/00 12:29:17.9120 depending on whether I just want to generate the digital absolute time string.

    Thank you

    Never mind found.

All I had to do was to change the display format for the time string in the menu time to Numeric property.

  • How can I get the string value displayed on a digital control defined for the relative time.

I have a digital potentiometer to display relative time in increments of 30 minutes.

I want to record the value displayed on the control string.  Unfortunately, when I use the "convert to decimal string.vi" number, the resulting string is just the value in seconds.

How can I get the value as a string? (for example 01:30 for an hour and thirty minutes)

    Thank you

    Sean

    Hi Sean.C!

M_Peeker's suggestion is a good thing.  A stage that could clarify things is that you must set the % t <%H:%M> format string entry.

  • Cannot set control schedule relative time

    Hi all

I'm pretty new to LabVIEW, and I'm trying to set a time stamp time related. I put the control on the form, and then right-click and choose the display format. I have chosen Date unused, advanced editing. The control has a box with this in it:

    % <%H:%M:%S> T

after I change the T t a bit big, the valid indicator lights in red. What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you, < br / > Simon

The timestamp command allows only to absolute time format. You can use a normal digital for relative time (which can also display absolute time, but not vice versa).

  • relative times of waveform

    As mentioned, Kiki

Use "Build Waveform.vi" and set the property to "t0" to zero.  If you have a table of waveforms, pass it in automatic indexing of loop for so you can do it at each waveform in the table.

    Kind regards

Well, that said Rick is the first to check, but by default, this option is enabled, so I wonder... Your compositions are in fact really nested or y at - it something to do that we do not know? As well use the parameters of the model and adjust the com time beginning when necessary. Desp you can always use simple expressions for anotehr comp time and attach it to the effect numbers...

  • Get a time indicator Relative to display ZERO

    Greetings,

I'm having a hard time finding solid answers on indicators how digital with a relative time display mode work.  I was looking for help online, I searched the forums and I googled like crazy.  No simple answer to what seems not like a simple problem.

I have a digital indicator of DBL an hour Relative value of display mode. If I put zero value on my pattern, I find myself with 19:00 on my front.  If the indicator is time RELATIVE, a value of ZERO seconds shouldn't be at 00:00:00?  If I set the value on the front panel to zero, then create a constant, it indicates that the value is-68400.  What is the problem?

    Thanks in advance!

Are you sure you are using a legitimate version? There was a bug in one of the recent versions beta (he could have 8.5 or 8.5.1) where absolute time and relative time in this dialog box values were reversed, but I don't think it should be in one of the published versions. Try selecting the absolute time instead and see if you get the relative time.

It is a fully legitimate version, activated and registered.  This was installed through the 8.5 DVD that we got with our Developer Suite subscription.

But I think you might be onto something here.  I've linked the constants on my diagram of blocks, is gone to the display Format, time chosen "Relative" and got what looked like a COMPLETE TIMESTAMP with AM/PM and a year.  I went to 'Absolute time' and I arrived at 00:00.

I have attached a small 'table', I did various settings.  If it's a bug, it certainly seems like he does in a release build.

  • Never carry datapoints to certain time interval

    Hello world

I have a new question. Currently, I am working on the last part of a friends request which consists of several loops at the same time while:

    1. Loop DAQ: acquires data, adds a relative time in seconds, and takes him to a queue of data

    2. Loop of visualization: calculates the different physical properties (requires some calculation time) as the first line of data and displays them on the graphic screen in XY (to be able to see a complete measure). According to what tab, the active user control tab, different sets of XYgraphs is indicated to take into account the different points of view. If the measurement is running (execution key), a second queue of data is fed by data from the first queue

    3. Queue storage: takes the data from the second queue of data and stores it in a spreadsheet file

    4. 2 additional loops to control the motors to the extent

    5. An event loop that checks what buttons are pressed

    Hello

Thanks for the reply. This might indeed serve a good function, but I want to be able to see parts of the data previously obtained. The help information or arbitrarily cutting function on average. To remedy this, I came (this weekend) with the following solution:

    • I have added a registry to offset for the while loop that visualizes information

    • This shift register is initialized to 0 DBL

    • Each time that the loop runs, it will need a set of acquired data to a queue. It checks the relative time of this data set, calculates the value floor (so round down the time value) and checks if it is larger than the value stored in the registry change.

    • If TRUE--> show that the value of the data and update the shift register with the rounded value

    • If set to FALSE--> nothing to do

  • Waveform table do not see the time correctly

    Hello

I am trying to represent the time vs. keithley multimeter voltage using a waveform chart. The voltage is recorded properly, however, the time does not seem to match. It shows approximately 10 times higher seconds. See the attached VI where I also used alternatively a XY Chart. I would like the time to be displayed in the waveform graph as in this chart XY.

In addition, in the XY graph, I had to put up one zero time to obtain the relative time. Is there a simpler way to do rather than use this trick?

    Thank you.

  • How to measure my each operating time blocks

    Hi, guys

I will measure my each main blocks, duration, are totally five large blocks in my final VI, the last four of them were in a while loop

    Thank you

What exactly do you mean by "block"?  Is this a Subvi, primitive LabVIEW, a piece of LabVIEW code?

You can use several functions of number of cycles.  If you put your code in a flat sequence structure with Tick account in settings in the meantime, you can subtract the values from each other and to relative time of each piece of code.

Why are you worried about the execution time?  Problems of particular clock?  Most of the LabVIEW primitives will run so fast, you'll probably see no or very little change in the number of cycles before and after them.

Here is an example to show how measuring the execution time for a section of code.

  • digital conversion (in the format of the time) to string

    Hello

I have a digital control (at the time format) in which I hours: minutes: seconds and I want to convert it to a string. The problem is that the number of hours is incremented by one, and if I insert a number of hours exceeds 24 the string is not displayed correctly.

What should I do to make this work?

    Thank you

You use a function that should be a numeric value that is based on the UTC clock and then convert it to a clock display based on your current time zone.  My guess is that you are in GMT + 1, which is why you see an hour added to it.

You must use the Format function in the string for this with appropriate time for the format codes codes.    %t is relative time.  It takes number you enter and turns it into hours, minutes, and seconds, rather than trying to create a view of time for her.  This is why your code cannot ride beyond 24 hours.   (There is no 25 hours on a clock face).
