  I changed my computer [Mac running X.10 OX] and have only two licenses [why I don't remember] for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.  I downloaded aap9 and made the usual installation = it would not have been a complete installation so I ran the uninstall program and cleaned aap9 from the computer.  I have re-installed on the downloaded dmg [APR09_Mac_WEB_WWEFG.dmg] file.

  He has now completed the installation and what is looming is the word down Acrobat in the upper left corner = - nothing, no menus file etc.

  

  I do not know what is going on on = it should be able to run.  Any ideas?

  OK so I downloaded and installed the new drive, a week or two ago and it seem to work fine until I went to add text to a document. It seemed to work yesterday when I had no problem, but today it was a different story. Today I went to add text to a different document, although I already used the tools to add text on a document from the same source so I thought it should work, in any case that I've read that maybe I should try to uninstall and reinstall the drive.  Now, the only problem is that I can not reinstall the drive. I have no problem to download the file, but it just seems to hang instead of install and instructions to stop at this point. I hope someone will have a few suggestion. I tried using Chrome, Mozilla and Windows edge all with the same result and I also disabled the firewall to see if that was the issue. Maybe I did not wait long enough, but after 30 minutes, I checked the Task Manager and it showed no CPU usage and the progress of the installation was always showing 0%.

  I have recently upgraded to Windows 10.

  The problem seems to relate to a particular file and not the software Adobe Acrobat Reader itself, so I should have left alone in the first place. When reinstalling Adobe Acrobat, the key was not to click on the file downloaded in the bottom left of the screen, but to go to downloads in the file Explorer where you need click on tools at the top of the screen and run the installation of the administrator.

  What you can do, it is installing a PS like the HP 4800PS printer and rename as the Adobe PDF printer. The port should be defined as a FILE:. When you print to the printer, you will save the file somewhere. By default, it is a PS file, usually with a PRN, unless you used something else. Simply open this file in Distiller to complete the creation of the PDF file. It is also possible to configure a control record in Distiller, to automate the process somewhat.

• Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro hangs at startup: runtime error - please help

  I have CS4 from Adobe installed on my Windows 7 PC. In addition, I have Adobe Reader XI and InDesign installed 6. If I remember correctly, after that I installed Adobe Reader XI, I uninstalled the version of the player that came with CS4.

  So here's my problem: when I try to download a PDF file that was sent to me in an email or open one that already exists on my computer, in this case:

  When I click OK, I get this:

  Adobe Acrobat 9.0 has stopped working.

  The problem is with the data of application given erroneous instructions.

  "The affected user has a folder Application Data redirected and so the path to the network that contains the Application data uses a UNC path that begins with \. "This UNC path causes Acrobat 9.0 and Adobe Reader 9.0 incorrectly analyzes the Application data path and give the error message.

  A possible Solution would be to go into the registry. Left click type 'regedit' and right-click and run the program with "run as Administrator". Go to Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders and make sure see where pointing "AppData". If it is oriented towards 'data %UserProfile%/Application' change it to point to '% UserProfile%/AppData/Roaming '.

  BUT, be careful of one thing: this poster seems to have used accidentally oblique when he should have used backslashes. Look at the last line of his post where he advises ' if it points to "%UserProfile%/Application Data" change to point to '% UserProfile%/AppData/Roaming'. '.   I bought Acrobat Pro about 2-3 years ago and it downloaded on my laptop.  I updated my computer and now trying to download it on my new computer.  Help would be great in this case.  I wouldn't need to buy it again since she has always worked and has been able to satisfy all my needs.
