Relocation of local site

I'm moving my local local site to a different locatio on my hard drive. For example, I want to move all the files, links, etc. of c:\abc\abc to c:\def\def? Any suggestions?

Move them in Explorer/Finder. Adjust your site definition in DW.

  • Synchronization problems can be caused by the structure of local sites?

I have sync issues (e.g. synchronization done, sync identifies even more recent files).  I read a lot on the dwsync files and the site configuration to maintain the synchronization of information.

I followed the advice to remove the dwsync files, turn off maintain sync, restart, turn on keep synchronization.  New dwsync files are not created.

I read a post from a certain number of years that mention the site structure (I guess they wanted to tell local structure).

I get a warning, sometimes because a site is located in the root of another site, sync may not work properly. I guess that his reference to my local site structure.

I think the problem is that the 2-8 Sites are folders within the Site 1.  I put the local structure in this way because that's how I structured it on the remote host, where I have an account that allows multiple hosting sites.

1 site simply contains files not in Sites 2-8, which includes some areas test, documentation, newspapers, etc., as well as a site with a domain name.  My thought is to get 1 Site moved to a folder at the same level as the other sites.

Does anyone know of a tutorial on setting up of the structures of remote and local directories for several sites in the same remote ftp?

Just use separate site definitions and ensure that the root directory of the server with precision pointing to the folder of this site.

If the root folder of your server is public_html.

    Root directory: public_html/site1 /.

    2 definition of the site:

    Root directory: public_html/site2 /.

  • How to find 'beginning-dreamweaver-first-site-Web' zip in the local site folder?

    Hallo...

I download this file already. But somehow it does not appear on the "local site" folder when I want to save it as in the tutorial video suggests...

What I have to do something else before you save it. ???

BTW, how to decompress this file...?

    Thank you very much.

To create the folder root of your local site, use the operating system of your computer to create an empty folder and name it what you want.

Download a program such as Winzip (Windows) or Stuffit (for MAC) to extract (unzip) your zip file in the folder root of your site.

Open DW and use your Site Manager to set your new site and enter the local path to the root of your site.

Im making any good by Lynda - Dreamweaver CS6 Essential Training instructions of lessons, but I have a problem when trying to add new files of fonts css rule - could not be copied into the directory of local site. Please check the permissions...   Thank you.

Open the fonts using Windows Explorer file and try to copy from its current folder in the folder root of the site on your hard drive and see if you get a Windows error.

Do not use DW to import the file to the site.

I guess that the file you are trying to copy is protected.

  • For both needed local Sites FTP connection

V1 of my pages html5 loaded properly on the ISP server. The pages were made in haste without much thought CSS. v2 that fixes the but I am unable to ftp to the server. I don't understand why I can't just select what local site to connect with. Connection to the server of the first local site works to wonder, and then 30 seconds later local site v2 can't connect.

I suppose that you have two different site definition settings in DW.  One another for Site2 to Site1.  That you're given grief, try to switch the FTP mode passive power. You'll find it under servers > more Options.  See screenshot.

    Hello

Thank you for using the c# for BDB HA API.

In the version you use, the local site can be defined only once and the remote site cannot be specified no value for local. So please update the code for:

    localhost:50001 (local = true)
    localhost:50002
    localhost:50003

    It will be useful.

    Kind regards

  • The local site folder does not open

Had to wipe my hard drive and load my Time Machine backup files. Now when I try to open a Web site in DW 5.5 the site folder in the column of local files has no icon in the shape of triangle and does not open. Remote files show correct. Help, please.

Solved my own mystery. Even if the Site manage poster shows the correct site root, it must be restored. The process was. Select your sitename in the DW files window, click on Manage Sites. SITENAME > Edit > Site, the Local Site folder > icon click on file, navigate to the root of the site > select > save > popup says Cache will now be re-created > fact. Ah, jumping through hoops...

  • I have a DW 8 existing local site local site for DW cs5 without overwriting

I just upgraded from DW 8, DW cs5 and had to uninstall the old software to have room for the new (perhaps a fatal error?).  Of course, all my files are always My Documents in my local site folder and I have my site running on the remote site.  All of this is good.  I can open all files from the workspace and all, but like cs5 is concerned, I have no Web site.  I want to configure my new DW to use my existing files, but he wants to make a new local site.  I wonder that if I create a new site in the site manager will be he crush or should I just copy everything in this new folder?  I can't he hang out somewhere? Seems like it should be simple - people upgrade their software all the time! What Miss me?

Just to clarify, it is not necessary to copy the files from your site. HTML is HTML.  You can work on your existing site in DW CS (whatever) just define the site and pointing to the folder of the hard disk where your site files currently reside.

  • Problems with tutorial building a website with Web Premium CS4 – part 2: creating a local site

    I have problems with

Building a website with Web Premium CS4 - part 2: creating a local site

Since after taking all the steps in the tutorial and choosing Localhost from the menu to open the homepage of the Apache server in a web browser, IIS7 opens instead of the home page of the Apache server...

I use Google Chrome as the default webbrowser...

Looks like you have IIS as the Web server 'by default'.

    Try this http://localhost: 8080

If that takes you to the Apache Web server, then you must set it as your default.

    Jim

News added: it is possible that both are listening on port 80 and IIS is a winner. To reconfigure IIS, open it and site web by default, you must change the site link. Http must be on port 8080.

If Apache is already set to port 80, then you will not need to do anything else. I think that is fair. I don't know how to set up Apache to listen on port 80 if it is defined on port 8080. I do not have to look at.

Make sure that you stop and restart your web services.

  • Test a local site in a browser

    Hello
I defined a local site in dreamweaver CS3. I can see my html in DW's design view pages, he finds all the links, applys CSS styles (of a style sheets external that is on the same folder of the hml file).
The problem comes when I want to test it with browsers (Firefox and IE7) [F12], style sheets and the links no longer work. I don't know what I can do to see my local site and my same remote site. Maybe I need to change something in the file "hosts" of my computer?
    Thanks much for any help.

He does. But when you click on a link in the temporary file, you are NOT
a link to another temporary file, you are linking to an instance saved who
file. DW never gets the opportunity to change the relativity of links
in this file. -Nothing in this second file will not work. GEDDIT?

  • Windows Media Player 12 will not play mp4, mp3, wmv files through IIS hosted local site when the PC is disconnected from the Internet

I have an IIS Web site 6.1 on local 32-bit Windows 7 machine that serves HTML and MP4 videos via Internet Explorer on the local computer.  An internet connection is not necessary because it is all local storage and local accommodations through IIS.  IIS is configured to serve the MP4 videos in the form of downloadable files, don't not streaming somehow.  I have the right MIME type ".mp4" with the installation of "video/mp4" in the IIS server, so I don't think that's the problem.

When the machine is connected to the internet, by clicking on a video link MP4 in any HTML page served by the local IIS server results in Windows Media Player opening and playing the video in its own window.  However, when the Ethernet cable is unplugged, by clicking on the same results of video link MP4 in Windows Media Player by opening its own window, and then display this error message:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file.  If the file is on the Internet, connect to the Internet.  If the file is on a removable storage card, insert the storage card.

It's almost as if Windows Media Player has a bug and since it accesses this media file via a URL, but the machine is not connected to a network, he thinks that this file is unplayable.

When the Ethernet cable is disconnected, the local IIS server is still all the HTML code and ActiveX content except for media files.  I also tried to access MP3 and WMV files via the IIS server to see if Windows Media Player will open those when the computer is disconnected from the Internet.  These caused also Windows Media Player files display the same error message.

I tried the VLC (VideoLAN) Player after changing the property file in VLC of WMP for .mp4 files extension.  With VLC installed and the extension changed to VLS property, I can download/open the MP4 video using the link in the web page served by IIS all when they are disconnected from the internet.  The only thing I can't do is get VLC player to open and play the video simply by clicking on the link in Internet Explore web pages served by the local IIS server.

I would like to make use of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player with this IIS server that serves the MP4 videos rather than using VLC player.

    Thank you

    Michael Rayman

I finally found the answer to my problem:

When they are disconnected from the internet, mysteriously, Windows Media Player 12 requires that you check a checkbox in tools > Options... > zone settings tab player called "Internet connection (ignore the other commands).  Once this box is checked and the settings saved on APPLY, then Windows Media Player 12 will play videos served by the local IIS server on the same machine, while disconnected from the Internet.

  • 404 error on the newly created on the local Sites WebCenter site install

    Hi all

I installed WebCenter sites in a local environment, and I tried to create a new site (newsite) following the guide below:

    http://www.sciabarra.com/FatWire/2015/10/26/webcentersites-12C-create-a-site-with-the-new-MVC/

of more the creation of a webroot for the new site (/ newsite).

Now I can see my site within the administration console and I can view pages created.

The problem is when I try to access my site from outside, I get a 404 error.

Are there additional measures to make the visible site?

    I can access properly at http://localhost:6003 / samples/home/sites, http://localhost:6003/sites/avi/home.html, but cannot access http://localhost:6003/sites/newsite/home.html

Could you please help me on this?

    Thank you

    Giulio

    Hi, Giulio.

Looks like you have a question similar to that described in the document following km:

-Web references not working for the new Site (Doc ID 1968290.1)

However, Sites 12.2.1, instead of update the Web.XML to include extra prefixes for the parameter the URLRewriteFilter SitePrefix, I think you should update the property site.prefix to the WebCenter Sites (by default, it includes the prefixes fsii, avi, samples.

You should be able to do this via the property management tool.  A reboot may be necessary.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

    Thank you
    Paul
