    Hello

I assume you are using the Vista operating system. Am I wrong?
Well, the Vista operating system needs a lot of material resources like OS first, that is to say XP.

This is why all computers work slower with Vista for another OS that is XP but I think it is nothing exceptional, due to the fact that the Vista eat resources of the computer due to new features such as Aero, new photo and video files, Direct10X, etc..

What you could do is update the memory which allows for slightly better performance, but you shouldn't t expect a big difference.

  • reinstall using vista basic vista Home premium cd?

I have more the cd of vista basic who came (or maybe not) with my computer dell laptop.  I have a vista Home premium 'upgrade', what I install and I have no base activation of vista series.  Can this work? I could probably find a family oem premium (not an upgrade) maybe that might work?

Note: it will not start and I have a blank hard drive.

Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • unidentified local network only linksys

I have a vista ser pk 2, no problem connecting to the wireless network from the purchase in 2005, on a computer dell laptop. A few weeks ago the message appeared after having taken a booster dose, linksys, computer laptop, which provided excellent service to the pole (all bars), but when I went to connect, the error message is "unidentified network local only.»  is there a fix please?  Thank you very much, karen

    Hi KVeRost,

Check to see if the following is useful.

Method 1: Reset the modem and check if it helps. You can try to check for the firewall of the router and see if there are parameters that are the cause of the problem.

Method 2: Log on to the router's Web site and update drivers.

  • Laptop series dv9410us - Vista repair after replacing motherboard - instead of relocation?

Laptop series dv9410us. Black screen. No startup. HP agreed to repair free of charge.

I have a question. I tried to save my personal data, on the eve of the blackout, but received a message that the backup failed. So no backup of some important files seriously.

    My questions are:

    1. when the motherboard is replaced, it is necessary to do a full install of the operating system?

    2. I found a Microsoft article which suggests after installation of the motherboard, the necessary changes to the system to be back compatible with the operating system can be done by following the instructions in the article: that is to do a "repair" as opposed to a complete reinstallation of the operating system. Here is the article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/824125/en-us

    3. I know, he approaches the situation from the point of view of a repair of XP, but if a similar process can be done with Vista, personal data would not be eradicated for the sake of a complete reinstallation of the operating system. If the amendments could be made when the computer is in safe mode, could the personal data left intact?

    4. it is possible at the time of the repair of motherboard - when the laptop is being repaired?

My information from all of its activities and thousands of product photographs hang in the balance.

The MS article refers to a modification of the sheet material... for example if someone updated their motherboard with a Chipset, Audio, etc. Your motherboard will be replaced by another which is the same, maybe a more recent revision.

You must be aware that sometimes Service HP work recovery and restore the machine back to the form of the plant, and no, they don't back up your files first. It is always recommended to back up important files before sendin a notebook.

If you have things that you need, I would choose a hard drive USB enclosure or an adapter to fix the hard drive on another pc and copy them.

  • Cannot activate Vista using the Portégé R500 series key

    Hello

I have a Portege R500 with Windows Vista (Business I think).
After a system crash I had to change the hard drive.
I didn't have a Toshiba Vista DVD so I reinstalled Vista from a DVD of Vista Business I found in the office.

Once a few days windows now asks for activation, in the application process for the series.

When I have the serial number on her that I found on the botton of the laptop it says is not correct figures.

What can I do? How to make toshiba Vista DVD?

    Best regards

    Domenico Ciccopiedi

    I totally agree with kody.

Serial number, placed at the bottom of the device belongs to the Vista preinstalled on your laptop.
It s version an OEM and, generally, the serial key does not work with other versions of Vista operating system.

If you want to install and use a different Vista operating system on your laptop, you will need to use the key supplied with the installation disc.

But in your case, I would order a new collection of Toshiba of the ASP or from this site:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

By the way; Vista on Toshiba Recovery DVD is already activated!

  • Series VI of operation to help on Windows VISTA

    Hello world

Series VI Labview 6.1 use on Windows XP is fine, but their use on the Windows VISTA operating system is a problem. LV6.1 rest features are very good.

I used USB-RS232 converter to connect to external device where LV6.1 has been loaded on XP. I select the COM port assigned number on behalf of VISA resource for the Serial VISA block function. The number of COM Port has been selected since the device manager that recognizes my USB-RS232 converter once I connect to one of the PC's USB port that has been loaded with XP. The feature COM & LPT Port in Device Manager provides example COM7 or COM9 etc. COM port number. Select the COM port number and Labview communicates as a regular RS232 Serial Port.

Above the feature works very well with Windows XP and windows VISTA Home Premium does not work. I can't select the COM port number to VISA VISA's Serial function block name resource. This selection of resource VISA name gets freezes and gets stuck at ASRL2::INSTR. How to make the VISA series to work? Is this a problem with VISTA operating system?

In addition, this version of NI-VISA does not support LabVIEW 6.1. The first version of NI-VISA which supports Vista is 4.1, but that version of NI-VISA does not support the LabVIEW 6.1. You need to upgrade from LabVIEW, or use XP.
