removal of media cache files to speed up the loading of project?

Hi all

Here's a question about media cache files... Once again.

My projects has recently begun to be slower to load than even light. Nothing has changed, but I noticed that I had 61 GB of data in the media cache files folder. I wonder if remove the contents of the cache of media AND media cache files folder stand in the place and bring my speed?

Thank you.

Serge

This will remove the database only.

Not exactly... This will remove the entries in the database and the files in cache for some media, that are currently not in use, e.g. offline media. It can also remove some entries from the database and the cache files for the media used in a project, on what an editor does not work currently, but the majority of them will stay. In other words, the "Clean" button should have been called "partially own something media Cache database randomly.

So, in order to actually clean the media Cache database one should manually delete all the files in the folders as media Cache and Cache media files.

  • Media Cache files / Media Cache database / Scratchdisk on SSD?

    Hello

    I have a 120 GB SSD in my C: drive use.

    "Media Cache files" and "Database Cache" sit enabled by default on C: drive - which is in my case an SSD that is faster than my 7200 RPM D: drive.

    Default location of the scratchdisk is in the project plan, who are always on the 7200 RPM D: drive.

    Now my question: what files should I keep on the SSD drive - and which ones on 7200 RPM drive? The better course would be to have everything on the SSD, but the simple truth is his only 120 GB and more than half is used for etc system files already.

    I get a noticeable performance improvement if I use the SSD as scratchdisk?

    I get a noticeable performance loss if I use 7200 RPM disk for my media and Database Cache files?

    Also more information on this topic: when (any drive) are media and automatically deleted database Cache files? How does this work, because if it does delete anything automatically, after 30 projects your computer must be complete with these media Cache files...

    And the same question for the scratschdisk? Although I imagine that you must do it manually since its in the draft card anyway.

    I thank all!

    Mambo

    # The advantage of speed of SSDS is primarily marketing hype and not noticeable when editing. Comprehensive tests with conventional 8 versus 8 7200 drives SSD in a raid showed no benefit at all, in fact it was even a bit slower than conventional disks.

    Hi Dave,.

    The location is ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common to be exact.

    Make sure that you type the TILDE (~) key.

    When in the Finder, click the go > go to folder... > Type ~/Library and navigate to Application Support/Adobe/Common

  • Media cache files: first Elements 9 with SSD

    Hello you lovely people from Adobe.

    I apologize if this has been asked before, if so please could someone direct me to an answer?

    I have the first Elements 9 on Windows 7. My question is quite simple: my new shiny SSD becomes full of temporary files to the location of 'Files of Cache C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media' every time that I'm working on a project. I put all the other elements of the cache that I can see in 'Préférences' on my mechanical drive, but I'm scared to see this folder filling with large files on my SSD. Apart from the useless reads and writes, it will be filled in no time. It seems in Premiere Pro, you can send this file to an external drive, but I can't find this option in Premiere Elements.

    Please tell me there is a way to move the media cache of the file to another drive than C:\ directory?

    Thanks in advance

    A Craven

    The answer is that you need answers to Premiere Elements for questions of Premiere Elements.

    Standardized audio files (cfa and pek) are stored in the media Cache files folder. By default, this folder is located in Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 64bits.

    Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements / 10 (if 10 is your version). You set the save location for media Cache files folder in first things Editor workspace Edit Menu/preferences/Scratch disks as well as 'Media Cache' category.

    The respected video files (CMPD) are accessible via the first elements Editor workspace Edit Menu/preferences/Media and its area of media Cache database. You will find a Clean up to a certain limit set and clear them. The real files (with a .mcdb file extension) can be found via the path in this field. This seems to be a static situation.

    Render the content of the timeline to get the best possible overview to read the back of the chronology of the content in the box monitor edition preview files are stored in the folder of files Adobe Premiere elements previews. By default, this folder is located in Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 64 bit libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements / 10 (if 10 is your version). You define which record the location for the Adobe Premiere elements elements previews file folder to the first elements Editor workspace Edit Menu/preferences/Scratch disks and the category of video Previews.

    Please let us know if you are now clearly Premiere Elements and how it relates to media Cache and al.

    However if want to inspect what could slow down the loading of your page I recommend using 'firebug' and select the 'network' tab to follow every chronology file loading. Then you can see which file takes more time to load to help make adjustments accordingly.

  • Media Cache files too much space on my hard drive

    I wanted to know why my drive is almost full - my own generated content was far enough to fill it. I used WinDirStat and he showed me that I had a whole bunch of cache files of my video editing going back 5 years. They had been stored in a folder won't are normally shown in Windows Explorer - Cache files of the users/Richard/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Common/Media. They are mainly .cfa and .pek files. All these projects-related media files were backed up and deleted from the hard drive. These cached files take 200 GB of space! I can remove them?

    Yes, clean! First, go to Edit > Prefs > Media

    Find the Database Cache and click on the CLEAN button. This only deletes temporary files for projects that are more in line (including the offline reader).

  • Do I need these media Cache files?

    Just found out that they are the reason my disk 1 to C is full. I have 440 GB "CFA file", "PEKFile", "MMPGINDEX" files hidden in my username/users/App

    The Cache of data/Roaming/Adobe/Common/Media directory. File names of my Edius editing and Encore DVD/BRD projects - I do not use first. Some are projects that are completed but some current. What are they, do I need them, can I delete all, can I still stop making them in the future?

    These are cache files; Yes, you can remove them safely; No, in will always make them.

    Set up a customized Windows search to find these files in the future and remove them all at once. And if you go in first preferences, you can tell Pr to store the files somewhere other than your C: drive. It is a way of forcing to do the same thing, depending on your version of fr.

  • set cache, file name, name of the url automatically

    I use foxit reader open a pdf file, the last name of the url is xxxx.pdf, when I click on save or save I get some strings like fileneme for example, 529EDd01.pdf. the same as the name in the cache folder. So, I think, first of all the xxxx.pdf of pdf file is saved to the cache, changed its name as 529EDd01, then open the foxit reader. then the name could never the same as the url name xxx.pdf.

      i wonder could i change the saving name in cache automatically or

    is there another way to solve this problem, (mimetype do not work).
    (for the browser firefox is closed the cache would have been deleted, so security is not much). Thank you for your attention. Thanks a lot for trying to solve the problem, because it bothers me too.

    I don't use Foxit reader, but most of the things allow you to choose or change a file name when you save a file. If you download and save a file with Firefox, you should get the opportunity to name the file.

    If necessary

    1. Disable foxit reader (Tools-> Add-ons)
    2. then navigate to the .pdf
      Firefox should have nothing suitable open the file with and will therefore save the file.

    You seem to be using an insecure and obsolete Firefox 7, you must upgrade to Firefox 12 and also check and update of plugins and modules.

    The latest versions of Ffirerox will open the .pdf files, but you are still able to download and save see

    I have about 70 sounds in my two external SWF. What I need to stop all of them?

    //---

    more than likely, Yes. I guess it depends on how you have 70 put sounds up in your external swf file... I mean:

    you have 70 movieclips appointed on the external swf stage with a distinct sound in each of them? and each have a stop() action in the first picture?

    or

    you say your external swf to go to a certain image tag that plays a sound on the timeline to this label?

    or

    are your 70 sounds created dynamically with code and told. start()?

    //---

    Keep in mind, a swf loading will start to play even before it is fully charged. So instead of when it is fully charged, try stop the loaded swf with a listener for 'init', i.e. when the swf file loaded passes its first image:

    function loadNextF (): void {}

    TL ["loader_" + index] = new Loader();

    TL ["loader_" + index] .name = index.toString ();

    . contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener TL ["loader_" + index] (ProgressEvent. COURSES, progressF);

    TL ["loader_" + index].contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener (Event.COMPLETE, completeF);

    TL ["loader_" + index].contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener (Event.INIT, initF);

    TL ["loader_" + index] .load (new URLRequest (swfA [index]));

    }

    function initF(e:Event):void {}

    SoundMixer.stopAll ();

    var mc:MovieClip = MovieClip (tl ["loader_" + index] content);

    mc.gotoAndStop (1);

    }

  • How to pass a variable to a swf file in another using the Loader?

    I'm loading a swf file from another swf using the method as follows:

    var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();

    addChild (myLoader);

    var url: URLRequest = new URLRequest ("myExternalMovie.swf");

    myLoader.load (url);

    How to pass a variable to the first SWF in the second?

    I'm not sure that "passage" is a term there, given that this generally applies to what happens with functions that can host variables to pass as arguments in the.

    When using the charger, you can assign an event listener to determine whether the activity of loading is complete and have an event handler that targets its contentLoaderInfo property to the event.currentTarget.content, which in your case would be the loaded swf file. At this point, you can assign a value to a variable in this swf file by targeting...

    var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();

    addChild (myLoader);

    myLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener (Event.COMPLETE, loadComplete);

    myLoader.load (url);

    var loadedSWF:MovieClip;

    function loadComplete(evt:Event):void {}

    loadedSWF = MovieClip (evt.currentTarget.content);

    loadedSWF.someVariable = ';?

    }

    It is probably possible you may also have the loaded swf the value rtrieve by targeting to the parent swf file, which would be both parents away because of the charger is the relative of the SWF loaded... unevariable = MovieClip (parent.parent) .someValue;

    Hello

    You can get the config cache that was read by recovering of the ConfigurableCacheFatory (which you can get the CacheFactory) by getConfig(). See:
    http://download.Oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/coherence/352CPP/classcoherence_1_1net_1_1_cache_factory.html
    http://download.Oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/coherence/352CPP/classcoherence_1_1net_1_1_configurable_cache_factory.html

    There is no way to get the real XmlDocument object in the cluster that is played for the config-cluster (if you could open the same way yourself).

  • Using Insert > media > Flv but videos takes forever to appear. Why? How to speed up the loading on the page?

    Hi, I used to use a video player freeware but DW CS5 kept giving me errors on this subject so I changed all my videos by usng the insert > video > menu flv. However, now the videos all can be 4 to 10 seconds actually appear on the web page - and they are not large files. I put an example here:

    http://www.enhanced-learning.NET/test3/test.html

    I certainly have the readers and also transferred folders in the scripts. With my old video player would appear on the page instantly - no idea why it takes so long with CS5 or did I do something wrong? I'd like to see some examples other people did also embedded videos. Thank you

    Dreamweaver is a Publisher, so pretty much once you create the files and download them, it does not matter if you used DW or any other editor, its now up to the server.

    After typing that, I wasn't able to reproduce the problem you described.
