I would need.My FF, updated May 14 last version 38.0.1 also. There was no further reference to the Installer 'stub '. I consider that it is resolved, because apparently it was only once.

When I use internet firefox setup 3.6.8.exe keeps popping up asking me if I want to save the file. I tried to install it and it comes to install Firefox again, then when I opened firefox it asked me if I wanted to save the file or not yet.
I'm running out of ideas with this one. As a test try to create a new profile, this will show if the problem is with your current profile. See creating a new Firefox profile on Windows - MozillaZine Knowledge Base
If the new profile works, you can selectively copy certain data such as bookmarks and passwords from the old profile. For details of the files that you can copy, see transferring data to a new profile - MozillaZine Knowledge Base

After you open the stub file, I get a message asking if I want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer. After closing by clicking 'YES' of the message window, a small message window flashes, followed by nothing...
Hello Solomon, please see if it works properly with the full installer instead which can be obtained at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

installed 18/12 34.0.5.exe - the top of the screen keeps flickering, so annoying! so I reinstalled 21.0.exe who do not blink.
Hello helenang, please Update Firefox to the latest version (21.0 is not picked up and vulnerable), then disable graphics hardware acceleration.
You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).
Then perform the following steps:
- Open the Firefox Options window as follows:
- Click the menu button
then select Options .
- In the 'Options' of Firefox window, click the Advanced tab, and then select general.
- You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Uncheck this box.
- Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:
Thank you.

I tried to do this several times over several days, on a HP a1620n running Windows XP Media Edition, Version 5.1. Nothing happens after that I get the full download message. Thank you.
In its current edition, click on Tools, go to modules, then Extensions and remove "Ask Toolbar".
Close and then restart Firefox and go to help | Look for the updates. The update should automatically start.

When I open firefox amazon appears in the search bar that I can't remove
whenever I open firefox amazon appears in the search window and I can't remove it.
Why this happened I don't know, but this means ICAN can't use firefiox as my search engineNote that your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.
The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: open with) If you do not create this file yourself. The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.
Delete a possible user.js file and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

When I open Firefox it opens not only my home page, but also opens add - our Manager, RSS, new and blogs and Dow load bestvideodowloader
Looks like you have a third-party toolbar which took on your search engine, Home Page or the default new tab Page. Fortunately this can be solved easily:
- At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox (Tools menu in Windows XP), and then click Add-ons. Open the tab of the Add-ons Manager.
- In the tab of the Add-ons Manager, select the Extensions Panel.
- Select the toolbar you want to delete.
- Click on the button Delete.
- Click reboot now if it appears. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
After restarting Firefox, install the Reset search tool. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program to your Firefox.
For more information, please read delete a toolbar that has supported your Firefox or the home page search.

Everytime I open Firefox, or open a new tab, 2nd tab opens to the page 'Options '. How can I stop this from happening?
Could check you your home page address to ensure that it is not listed there? It would be after a vertical separator, for example:
https://www.mozilla.org/|about:preferences
I think that you are familiar with the information to verify, but just in case: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.
Was he there? (Fingers crossed, because the alternatives seem very little likely.)

I can't open Firefox. I am slot Win IE 8.1 opens immediately.
It started yesterday, but now is serious. Help, please.
Hi budcohen,
Make sure that nobody plays a practical joke on you by changing which opens your shortcut. Right click on your shortcut of Firefox and check the "Target" line on the shortcut tab. It should read:
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
If you notice that the shortcut will be headed to another (for example ' iexplore.exe'), or delete the shortcut and make another change the target line to what I posted above. I'm not too familiar with Windows 8 interface, so if you create a new shortcut, it might be better if you take a peek at:
If the above doesn't help you, you can download the latest Firefox on the official website of Mozilla here:
- (for full installers in all languages) https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/all/
When you uninstall Firefox from the control panel > programs and features, be sure not to delete personal information if you want to keep your bookmarks. After uninstalling, you must also remove the Firefox directory in Windows Explorer as well in order to remove any residual files issues the:
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\
The information in your profile (including your bookmarks) are stored in a separate location so will not be affected by this deletion. If you want to stay on the good side, you can save your profile by following these guides:
- Backup and restore Firefox profiles information
- Bookmarks are specifically found in the file places.sqlite (see recovery of data from an old profile)
Let us know if it works!

Equipped with Windows Vista. Stop down my PC two day and when I booted up it would not start. Click on the button of power again and it started in safe mode and asked me to run a repair program that I made. After that Firefox does not open and I get the message "XPCOM is missing." everything else works. Tried to uninstall Firefox and cannot do it either. the uninstaller from Control Panel does not work and I found the Mozilla Firefox uninstall Help files and which will not be executed. I get the windows on the screen asking me to continue, or cancel and when I hit continue the dialog box just disappears and nothing happens. Can not download Firefox exe file again. I am running Trend Micro security PC.
You need to reinstall, you don't, because none of your bookmarks, history etc. WILL NOT BE LOST.
Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.- Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
- Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
- Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.
