Remove a member of a group/pool offline

We have two units of PS400e in a pool, one of them has failed several months ago.  After working for several hours with tech support we finally gave up and just recovered data that we had of the Ribbon, then rebuilt the virtual machines, we lost.  'Good' unit was removed from the Group Manager and reconfigured and then added back to today, but the unit that failed cannot be removed from the Group Manager.

At this point I need to remove the group system so I can reconfigure hardware and add it back in.  I tried this in the GUI interface today and received an error message about removing a member offline and "contact technical support."

I placed the necessary technical support call, but I do not think that the technician has understood what I'm trying to do.  The unit may not be used at this stage because we cannot reconfigure and pool sees it as 'offline '.  All I want to do is delete the instance of Workgroup Manager so that I can factory reset it and add it to the group, and then reconfigure our pools so that we are not extending data through both units longer.

Does anyone know a way to remove the 'offline' unit from the Group Manager, so I can reuse the system name and IP addresses?

I've seen this before and short of eliminating all the members and then reset to the last remaining unit, the only way to do needs help, support.

Ask them to do a session remotely on your desktop and show them the group leader. If all goes well, helping them to understand the problem.

    I found the answer.

    It's the slightest mistake on because I'm trying to edit a group that was created in LDAP. The networking team removed the members of the group & now it works fine.

  • Can I remove the storage (default) of a multi-member Equallogic array group Pool

    Current config:

    1 group, 3 members Equallogic arrays: Array01, Array02 and Array03.

    3 Array01 of Pools of storage (default), Array02, Array03

    I need to remove the Array01 member to remove the group. The default storage pool moves automatically to another Storage Pool? that is Array02?

    I've already migrated all volumes and snapshots off Array01.

    Config required

    1 group, 2 tables of Equallogic members: Array02 and Array03

    2 (default?) Storage Pools Array02, Array03

    The default storage pool cannot be deleted.  It will just sit there like a pool empty (without the members of the group are attributed to him) if it is not used.

    I want to remove the last member of a pool.  Data has been moved to the other pools.  Will I need to use the reset directly related to the table command?  It is also the default pool but I understand that I can not remove the default pool and it's ok.

    If there are yet other members of the group, then NO, please do not use "reset".   That is only used when it is the only member of the Group overall.   You always use the option 'remove member '.  Either through the user interface or the CLI.

    Any pool can be designated as the "default".

    When talking to Dell to try to conceive and to buy a NAS solution to complement or integrate our storage EQL PS I had now some contradictory information about what you get by adding a second FS7610 and forming a cluster within a group/single pool, namely that the capacity is the same that there is 1 or 2 FS7610 nodes.  Note the last sentence.

    Anyway, it doesn't seem I can get 1PB without having at least 2 groups EQL on the same infrastructure, each with 1 or more FS7610 and up to 8 speakers. However if I've already said here is true I can at least postpone for a while that I'll be able to go from 4 to 5 years before I reached the limit of one group/pool/nas.

    Scalability

    The FS76x0 and the EqualLogic SAN offer a solution file, and can scale easily block and

    effectively, as customer needs grow over time. The flexible architecture of the fluid file system

    with paintings of the series PS allows expansion of storage capacity and performance capabilities within the

    a unique namespace. The FS device can address up to a maximum of useful capacity of 509 TB

    available from a single EqualLogic storage pool. 1 to 8 may consist of a pool EqualLogic PS

    berries (members) of the series.

    Notes:

    A group of EqualLogic can have only a single NAS cluster. A NAS cluster consists of one or two

    Devices FS providing file services.

    · A group of EqualLogic can have one or two devices FS76x0 NAS running together in a

    NAS cluster.

    · Can access a cluster consisting of one or two FS76x0 devices in a group EqualLogic NAS

    storage of file from a single pool of EqualLogic only. You can assign a device FS76x0

    a swimming pool and another of FS76x0 for another pool.

    The maximum capacity of the file a NAS cluster (and thus a group EqualLogic) able to export is

    509 to useful (all a single pool, EqualLogic).

    Currently, you can only assign a "SIN" to a single group and pool.  This NAS unit may consist of one or two main units.  If you have two, then it forms a single cluster and the two will have access to the same pool.   So, yes currently to serve our 1PB you would need two FS76x0 and two groups EQL with 509 to each.   As newer, larger drives are available which will increase.  I would check with your sales/reseller for an overview of the product road map.

    2. Click on the link manage my family at the bottom of the summary page.
    3. Select the user concerned in respect of family members , and then click remove the Member from the family at the top left of the screen.

    You should have some members on the disk groups. For each redolog group should be spread on your + redo disk group and another group of disks that is physically separated from the + redo disk group. That is to say + group of DATA disks.

    Go to the "HSP_UNIQUE_NAMES" found in the SQL table.
    Remove the line.
    Do a refresh
    Then delete this member in the following tables:

    HSP_MEMBER

    HSP_MRU_MEMBERS (System 9 only)

    HSP_OBJECT
    (no need to do anything in HSP_DIMENSION)

    Go to each shape and change the name of the former member to the new member name.
    Can someone confirm the steps above?

    You must delete the form first and then remove the Member, it is useless to try to hack the tables because they have constraints weighing on them, so you cannot remove a member before be removed from a form.

    The members account must already exist quite the user adds the Member to the definition of the form. If you want to remove the Member from the form definition, and then you change the shape.
    If you want to remove the data, then as it can be removed by deleting the data in the form and check or using a business rule to remove data.

    Is the table online or the poster in offline mode in the GUI?    If online, you can use the delete member option in the GUI.  This will move the data to the other members.
