Remove all references to IE8, IE9.

I use IE11 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

There are many references to registry to IE8 and IE9 in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main registry location. I want to remove these references REG_BINARY and REG_DWORD, but also the REG_BINARY WINDOW_PLACEMENT because IE11, no matter what I do, not, among other things, desktop shortcuts or full open or enlarged. I backed up the registry. I tried all the answers provided by the community, Google, Bing and a host of other search sites. IE11 also lock up, run very fast or drag his butt.

Continuing along this question, in c:/Windows/winsxs there are dozens of files in which properties/details clearly version 8.* * and 9.* * which I believe must be eliminated as well. I think my pc is confused about things compared to Internet Explorer.

I also scanned infinitum for horses of Trojan, virus, malware, etc. with Norton Security, Malwarebytes Pro, TrendMicro Housecall, Odile, Norton Power Eraser, SuperAnti Spyware and other known virus scanners, many of them have been recommended by Microsoft itself. I use not any what registry cleaners, fixers or doctors of any kind ever.

So, please, all moderators and people at Microsoft, please weigh in on the work of the registry, I mentioned, and the winsxs works also. Or y at - it a setting that I forgot.

I did 20 questions with a couple of moderators already so any help will be very appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Chris

Hi Chris,

Important: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, you must make sure that you follow the steps carefully. For extra protection, you can always back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: How do I back up and restore the registry in Windows

  • Remove all traces of IE8

    Hi all

    I use a portal based on the web for my work, and the portal is only compatible with ie7. I deleted the ie8 update, and for all purposes useful, ie7 has been restored. Help / about Internet Explorer shows it as ie7.

    However, the portal should I access always said that my browser is not compatible. Also, I've been to a few sites Web Browser Version Checker and they show that I am still using ie8. Of course, there is always some sort of indicator of residual ie8 that these sites are grateful. I saw this link - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/957700/en-us#diditfix2 - and there is reference to the removal of certain registry entries. I don't want to play with the registry if I can't as I have had disastrous results in the past!

    Please someone has suggestions on how to completely reset the browser to ie7?

    Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    Kind regards

  • Can I safely remove all references to the CHROME of about: config?

    I was told that once I installed and used CHROME, it took longer for the most part, the operation of any other browser. I removed CHROME better I could, for reasons of confidentiality, but I noticed in FIREFOX about: config many references to CHROME. I want to delete them. What is recommended or safe? Or would I be better to uninstall FIREFOX and download a new copy of it? ... and if so, how can I save my favorites, etc. ??
    Best regards
    Bill Lindquist

    Hello Bill, none of the entries in firefox/a words of: config that contain the term 'chrome' is related to the browser google chrome.

    chrome is a general term used to refer to the user interface of the browser (in contrast to the content - which is usually the information provided by Web sites). This reference is present in firefox long before the competing product with the same name came on the market.

    If you are the only user who uses the computer the files you are referring are those that would be needed for troubleshooting for any failure of the system. I recommend you do not remove all the files that are hidden or disk rot.

  • If any software is uninstalled, the registry contains all references to this program?

    Original title: registry - Windows 7 and 8

    This is a generic issue, not a specific problem.

    If I uninstall a program using the control panel (the uninstall has been total, which means that no parts of the show were asked to hold), the registry should contain all references to this program?

    If the answer is YES, why?

    Bill S

    The answer is none, but some programs leave stuff behind.  The uninstall program has a list of things to delete, and sometimes the developers who build the program do not remember to list everything in the Uninstall list.

    It is a big reason for the new model "app" of Windows 8: stand-alone applications that can be neatly installed, managed, and removed.  More like how Apple and Linux.

  • How to copy/paste the text box anchor to its anchor text and remove all checkpoints empty?

    Hi all

    I have a document of a few pages, but a story. The right column is the area of main text and on many places, anchored text boxes are placed which appears on the left column, as shown below.

    I want the text of each text box anchor to cut of his place and sticking to its point of insertion/anchor and remove all of the empty boxes of anchored.

    I'm trying since this morning but I was able to get the anchor object reference. Any help on how to start with will be useful.

    Marie rosine

    anchor_box.png

    OK, let's say you have a main text (not rooted) box and three text boxes that are anchored to the text it contains. One is anchored with text, the second is not anchored and the third argument is empty (I won't get into the anchor vs custom anchor line given that you mention in your message).

    Scroll us through the items on the page:

    function main(){
      var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
      var myPages = myDoc.pages.everyItem().getElements();
      for (var i = 0; i < myPages.length; i++){
      {
        var myPage = myPages[i];
        //Checks that the page is valid, and that it is not a master page. If either is true, skips to the next page.
        if (myPage.isValid == false) continue;
        if (myPage.parent instanceof MasterSpread) continue;
        var myItems = myPage.allPageItems;
        for (var j = 0; j < myItems.length; j++){
          //Current item.
          var myItem = myItems[j];
          //If myItem doesn't have a Character parent, it is not anchored.
          //The first and third text frames would fail this test.
          if (!(myItem.parent instanceof Character)) continue;
          //We only care about text frames.
          if (!(myItem instanceof TextFrame)) continue;
          //I think the only way this would happen would be if you had an image or
          //something else unexpected within the frame. I check for it so no content
          //is inadvertently lost.
          else if (myItem.texts.length > 1) continue;
          //If we're still in this iteration of the loop, all qualifications are met.
          //Flatten the text frame.
          //I don't use layers that often so, to me, flatten makes sense. You may want
          //to use a different term if there's a chance for confusion.
          flattenItem(myItem);
         }
       }
    }

    function flattenItem(funcItem)
    {
         //Hold onto the anchor character.
        var myParent = funcItem.parent;
         //Duplicate the text from within the frame so that it appears right after the anchor.
         //There may be other methods, but this works for me. I try to avoid copy/paste
         //so as not to deal with any clipboard mishaps. I added a check in case of empties.
         if (funcItem.texts.length > 0){funcItem.texts[0].duplicate(LocationOptions.AFTER, myParent.insertionPoints[0]);}
         //Replace the anchor character itself with a space (or whatever) which also
         //deletes the text frame it was anchoring.
        myParent.contents = " ";
    }

    I guess the takeaway is perhaps you aren't looking at the main text block and then check if anything it is anchored. You are watching each text block and find out if it is anchored. That's my approach, anyway.

  • Remove all listeners - or another solution to the given problem

    If the problem is the following:

    Say we have a list of items displayed in a ListView. The elements can be made up of a string describing and above all, a list of IDs.

    Then we have a group of checkboxes, each associated with a value ID. The check boxes are selected must be determined by the content of the list of the selected item in the ListView.

    For example, the elements may be individuals, and IDS can refer to his hobbies or whatever - typical example. If you have a group of predefined leisure displays that you can check if the particular person has them or not.

    Therefore, the behavior that we want to:

    (1) when the selected item in the ListView is changed, update the boxes to display the ID of this item.

    It is trivial. Simply add a listener on the selected ListView item and for each checkbox, set it to enabled if the list contains the corresponding id.

    (2) when an any of the boxes is changed by the user, update the list of IDS to the selected ListView item.

    This seems to be is not as trivial as it may seem. :)

    The first thing I tried was:

    Add a listener for invalidation fixed for each of the boxes. In Manager, a list of all ID-checked, and updated list of the current selected ListView with the latter item.

    The problem here is him when you select an item in the ListView and behavior in 1) is called, the invalidation handler is called, thus updating list of the selected ListView item again before it has had the opportunity to update all the boxes!

    Next thing I tried:

    Do not add any fixed listener for the check boxes. (Instead, in 1), remove the check boxes for any listener, to update, and then add a listener that will call the behavior in 2).

    The problem here is 'remove every listener of the boxes', given that on Observable removeListener() method takes a specific listener as a parameter - and we have no reference to that. (And the first time, we have not added even.)

    So is there a way to tell an Observable, Hey, remove all listeners you have?

    Or am I on the wrong track, and it is indeed obvious, another solution to this problem?

    I don't see the need to remove the listeners - this seems dirty and a little prone to error.

    What follows is doing what you want (I used a ChoiceBox for ease, but adapting to a list would be trivial), or if I'm missing a part of the question?

    public class TestApp extends Application
    {
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
        {
            launch(args);

            root.setStyle("-fx-padding: 10");

            for (final Hobby hobby : Hobby.values())

  • How can I remove all the children from scene to a given index position?

    Hello

    I created a simple game - when the game ends, I want to remove only some of the children from the scene and let some interface elements behind.

    The children I want to delete, I added at the level of the index 6.

    My code to add child objects to the start looks like this:

    addChildAt(newObject,6);

    Then, when the game is over and I need to clear the screen of all these objects table laid, I want to delete all the child objects to the index position 6 only, while the other elements of the scene are left intact.

    I don't know how to use a while loop to remove all children from the scene, but do not know the syntax to remove all children from a given only depth index position.

    My gameOver() function is currently using this code:

    getChildAt (6);

    removeChildAt (6);

    but this removes an instance of one child.

    I must be able to detect all children at index 6 and remove them all.

    I can't find the syntax necessary to achieve this.

    Can anyone help?

    A single object can occupy a level of the index.  When you add another at the same level, the previous is moved up in the order.  You probably want to do is to store the references to these children in a table and use it to target out them.

  • How is - a removes all components of a project in Jdeveloper?

    Hi all

    I am new to using JDeveloper. I would like to know how to remove a JDeveloper project until the end. Even when I delete the project using the browser of the Application and then create another, earlier JDeveloper invites a warning that such file already exists and should he be crushed. This happens with xml and transformations, a little.
    I would like to delete all the components of the project. Is there a checklist when you remove?
    Once again, since I'm new to the forum, I hope I posted this in the right place and apologies if this sounds too basic.

    See you soon,.
    Saida.

    When you delete a JDeveloper project, you are really only to remove the reference to the definition file for the project (*.jpr) from the application definition file (*.jws). This means that even if you want to start over, maybe you want to keep certain files in the original project. If you really want to clean up everything, and then after you remove the project in JDeveloper, use normal file of your system (for example Windows Explorer) management tools to remove the project directory and everything what it. Use your version control for this do if the project or whatever it is that he is under version control.

  • Urgent: How to remove all the cards for a crawler through SQL

    People,

    Hello! I am trying to remove the 2 million cards (must have been exceeded and makes the search index rebuild take days) in a single folder in the directory of knowledge on portal 6.1. To delete the folder ('apply later') working half yesterday and then all night with nothing connected to the PTSpy or the joblog, little or no CPU activity.

    Does anyone have a DB query that can zap cards for this crawler? I know how to select the cards for a particular ID on caterpillars, but don't understand how to remove properly such that all references to these maps in other tables are also deleted.

    Much appreciate!
