  • Help remove (ReadyBoost) USB drive write protection

A customer used ReadyBoost, a couple of days on his USB drive, but never turned off when he did. The player is now known as write-protected, and I am unable to disable ReadyBoost on his computer, or any other.

I also tried to format, diskpart and some linux partitioning tools.

The drive has a single file named Readyboost.sfcache on it.

I'm not ready to tell the customer that he can thow away its 4 GB USB drive, so what I could do?

I know, it seems obvious, but just wanted to check. I'm guessing that you have already tried to remove the cache file as well?

ReadyBoost is now included in the SuperFetch (SysMain) service, rather than having one of it's own. SuperFetch is usually disabled by default on computers with hard drives SSD. You can check this, or toggle control you want ReadyBoost to other flash drives.
Some readers also have cursor over them and write protect the disk. Another obvious, but just in case.

  • Remove my external backup disk write protection.

I can't save anything on my backup drive due to an error saying impossible because the disk is write protected. It happened when I updated to windows 7 November last month. Now I can't transfer all files on the disc. Help.
I read an answer to my problem re regedit's local computer and system control etc. The problem is that I have storage in the registry but not in default extension just to hand right panel and without value. How do I manually write the correct version so I can remove my storage drive write protection.

I did as you said in regedit as there was no policy of storage device, but it does not remove the write protection. My backup disk is a connected via external usb port. If I turn off the external hard drive and turn it on then I can move or copy folders on disk for a few minutes the write protection turns. It started only with windows 7. In vista, alol was ok re backups. I read on the manual for this player and they don't even mention protection against Scripture. How do I know which drive to remove the register write-protection? I think I solved my problem. I had my backup disk connected to the computer via a usb hub. I changed it to connect directly to the back of the computer and now the backup drive is not protected in writing and I can copy and send the disk to backup with no problems. Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the USB?
    2. what happens when you try to remove the write protection?
    3. are you an error message or error code?

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

Note: Before formatting the USB driver, I would recommend you to back your files from the USB driver.

    (a) stop your computer or laptop.
    (b) Insert the USB into your laptop or computer
    (c) turn on laptop and then start immediately by pressing the key (F8) then the Advanced Boot Options screen will go up
    (d) select Mode safe mode with command prompt
    (e) after loading files if your USB Memory Stick drive letter for example is (G) then write it as
    (f) C:\windows\system32>G: and press enter
    (g) G: G:\>format and press enter
    (h) if ask you (O/N) then press on (Y) and press enter
    (i) now a full format will begin that remove USB Memory Stick write-protection.

    Note:

Before you remove your Computer, always remove safely by going to my computer, then right click on USB and click on eject.

  • How to add data to a write-protected micro SD memory card

    original title: write protected disk

my removable disk (f :)) is write-protected, so I can't put music on my micro SD memory card, how do I remove this then I'll be able to transfer my music from my android phone?)

Use a MicroSD adapter. Hold the adapter and MicroSD card, so that you can read the labels, then insert actual MicroSD card into the adapter. On the adapter, usually towards the top left (opposite), you will see the word 'Lock' with a directional arrow. Press the very small sliding tab in the slot to the left of the card upward to remove the write protection of the adapter which will then remove the write protection on the card that you inserted in. When you're ready to protect your data, simply repeat back and forth the slotfacing downwards.

  • How to remove the floppy write protection

How can I remove write Protection from a disk 1.3 MB

Sometimes the switch 'cursor' on diskettes 3,5 "bit was removed (to create the disk read-only permanently). If this is the case, then just put a piece of opaque tape over the 'hole' (where the slider switch was)... and you'll be able to write to the diskette.

If you hold the diskette if you are looking at the rear, the slider switch (or a hole where was the slide switch) is at the bottom RIGHT.

Please note that the 3.5-inch disks came in various capacities (the two most common are 720 KB and 1.44 MB. If you hold the diskette, then you're looking at the back, then there will be a hole on the bottom LEFT, which is used to indicate the command what is the capacity of the disk. If my memory is good, there will be a hole in the bottom LEFT (when you see the back of the disc), for drives with capacity of 1.44 MB, and if no hole is on bottom LEFT, then the floppy drive is 720 KB.

My point... If you need to put a piece of opaque tape over the hole where the playback cursor / writing has been (to make writable disk), don't forget to put tape over the hole at the bottom RIGHT (looking at the BACK of the disc... and 'back', I mean the side without label and where can be seen the axis of the disc).

Write protection is an element of protection which prevents accidental deletion of important data. Sometimes turning off the write protection is as simple as uncapping the USB key to find a manual switch. If your player lacks an external switch, the procedure requires a few steps to complete.

    (a) turn on your computer and plug the drive after that your operating system is loaded.

    (b) open 'My computer' and the list of readers of research until you find your USB drive letter

    (c) right click on the name, then click 'properties '. Browse the tabs until you see the option to remove the write protection. If this does not work, proceed to the next step.

    (d) visit the website of the company for your USB key. Go to the help or support section and search for "write protect".

    (e) search the Internet for software that will remove the write protection. Download the program and install it on your computer.

    (f) open the software. Follow the instructions to remove your USB write protection.
