Hello

Write protection is a feature found on many different types of media. When the write protection is turned on, you will be able to view the information on the disc or USB key, but you won't be able to write or transfer information to it. Write protection is an element of protection which prevents accidental deletion of important data.

If you want to remove protection, try the advice given:

Method 1:
I suggest you to follow the steps and check if the problem persists.

a. open 'My computer'.

b. right-click on the USB key and select'Properties'.

c. uncheck the 'read-only' if it is enabled.

Note: Click Yes when the option appears saying 'apply changes to subfolders and files writable in this folder '.

d. click on 'apply' and 'Ok '.

e. try to delete the files.

Method 2: I also suggest you follow the steps to edit the registry to disable the write-protected error and check if the problem persists.

You can remove your usb pendrive write protection using the method below:
a. open the start menu and select run. On the runline, type regedit and press efriendship. This wil open theRegistry Editor.
b. navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
Note:

If StorageDevicePolicies registry key does not exist, you must create it manually.
c. in the right window, double-click the registration key and set the value to 0 in the value
Data area , and then press theOK button
d. restart your computer and try todeletefiles from USB flash drives.
Note: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. How can I remove write Protection from a disk 1.3 MB

Sometimes the switch 'cursor' on diskettes 3,5 "bit was removed (to create the disk read-only permanently). If this is the case, then just put a piece of opaque tape over the 'hole' (where the slider switch was)... and you'll be able to write to the diskette.

If you hold the diskette if you are looking at the rear, the slider switch (or a hole where was the slide switch) is at the bottom RIGHT.

Please note that the 3.5-inch disks came in various capacities (the two most common are 720 KB and 1.44 MB. If you hold the diskette, then you're looking at the back, then there will be a hole on the bottom LEFT, which is used to indicate the command what is the capacity of the disk. If my memory is good, there will be a hole in the bottom LEFT (when you see the back of the disc), for drives with capacity of 1.44 MB, and if no hole is on bottom LEFT, then the floppy drive is 720 KB.

My point... If you need to put a piece of opaque tape over the hole where the playback cursor / writing has been (to make writable disk), don't forget to put tape over the hole at the bottom RIGHT (looking at the BACK of the disc... and 'back', I mean the side without label and where can be seen the axis of the disc).

  • remove the adapter write protection and usb/microsd card

Put a micro sd card into the adapter and since I opened it I'm impossible to delete files, format the drive e., Cup etc. When the drive is disconnected Ican manipulate the files which have been locked with the drive connected. The share in the properties of the drive button is untouchable and I tried some tools to format the troubed drive and nothing has worked so far. It affects all my usb ports no matter where I connect the sd adapter. How can I change the access point so E is not write protected?

There is a little switch on the side of the SD card. Make sure that it is upward, to the terminals.
  • Unlock the USB write protected

Windows 8, there is a 32 GB USB drive more writable after working very well.  Other work of sticks USB OK.  Indication to keep the disk is read-only, and there is no way to physically write protect.  Possibly BitLocker live upwards, perhaps out before you remove the drive safely?  A registry cleaner remove a key by mistake?

I work with Bitlocker readers every day and I saw that some readers become read just in the middle of copying the files to them. I don't know what is the cause, but I was not able to find all the settings that enable or disable it.

As a solution, I was able to write to the drive by connecting it to another server. If I connect the same drive on the server it was read only after connection to another server, it is always read-only. Therefore, he must have something on this server which makes the drive read-only. I will search the Web and see if anyone has figured this out.

I have two node oracle rac cluster running on ESXi 4.1.I have no problem when I run the two node (VMs) oracle on an ESXi server.

When trying to create a cluster across two esxi server (IE a knot on each server esxi), I see LUNs (RDM) shared on both the nodes (VMs) .but I can set up the database on a single node. In the second node, I have configurable inaccesable to data error. If I set up the database on the second node, I get the error on the first node.

I don't have the hell the wirte protection one simultanneous my share LUNS are mapped as RDM in physical compatibility mode

I suspect that the problem may be because of the reason mentioned in the following KB

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1034165

It applies to the RDM also?.

    can anyone confirm.

    Hi manic,

    According to http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/partners/oracle/vmware-oracle-rac-deploy-guide.pdf (Appendix A)

    You must

    (a) use the adapter pvscsi for shared disks and

    (b) define the 'physical' share SCSI bus

    Good luck!

  • Edit the CD write protected

I burned a CD but I would like to make a few changes to the it, and my PC tells me that I can't do.

In general, you can not do.  Once the CD is finalized - what - no more change.  There are a few ways to burn CDs which can be edited (search "UDF"), but not any software or readers to support this.

  • Dell XPS 8900 media card reader write protected: how to remove the protection?

I use the card reader to write mp3 files on a micro-SD card to use in a small MP3. Until today, no problem. Now I get the error 'write protected' - and it is not because of the tab in the adapter SD being in the wrong position.

There were a few quirks days when card readers are presented as explicit readers in this PC, but this phenomenon disappeared when I restarted the computer. I suspect that this may be related.

Advice as to how do these ports without protection would be appreciated. Meanwhile, Plan B, using a to a USB external card reader works.

Also: Run Windows 10 as originally installed on the computer.

The outcome: diskpart approach after trying and failing, I decided to try canned air in the slot for the fourth time (this is what I did the first time that the crack would not read and later that day).

This time I gave him a dose really long and deep air under pressure. And voila, he now writes and reads.

Sorry to take all this space on what turned out be a non-issue, or should have been.

I have three other computers with media slots, two of them for close to three years, and no one has posted this question - as in my XPS 8900 after only three weeks of minimal use of niche.

Guess never say never is a good adage.

  • USB Thumb Drive (UHYBS-064GH) format/write protection fault

    Hello

    Hoping for help.

Bought a 64 b USB Thumb Drive (UHYBS-064GH), a private seller, but the point is brand new in packaging.

When I tried to copy files through him, he maxed out at comments 45Gig and seems to have caused a clerical error. I was able to remove the majority of the cases, however on 5gig of them would not remove (in that they seem to have removed, until you updated).

To counter this, I tried to "quick format", the drive (using Windows XP SP3), but the disc is write protected and I am unable to remove it.

Spoke to a friend who told me that I should try a low-level format, which tried & it seemed to work, however when I insert the USB system indicates that the drive is not formatted & I would like to format. When you click Yes, I get the error 'write protected '.

Was the question of the google machine & even tried to change registry settings, but also failed.

So I hope someone out there has a solution for me (which does not include a big hammer & some anger management)...?

Would it be possible that this USB drive is defective?
In my opinion, you should contact the merchant and must replace it with another.

  • Remove my external backup disk write protection.

I can't save anything on my backup drive due to an error saying impossible because the disk is write protected. It happened when I updated to windows 7 November last month. Now I can't transfer all files on the disc. Help.
I read an answer to my problem re regedit's local computer and system control etc. The problem is that I have storage in the registry but not in default extension just to hand right panel and without value. How do I manually write the correct version so I can remove my storage drive write protection.

I did as you said in regedit as there was no policy of storage device, but it does not remove the write protection. My backup disk is a connected via external usb port. If I turn off the external hard drive and turn it on then I can move or copy folders on disk for a few minutes the write protection turns. It started only with windows 7. In vista, alol was ok re backups. I read on the manual for this player and they don't even mention protection against Scripture. How do I know which drive to remove the register write-protection? I think I solved my problem. I had my backup disk connected to the computer via a usb hub. I changed it to connect directly to the back of the computer and now the backup drive is not protected in writing and I can copy and send the disk to backup with no problems. Thanks for your quick reply
