Remove songs from Playlist only

I am on my PC using Windows 10 a 12.3.3.17 iTunes

I'm trying to delete a song to my playlist only.

No matter what I try, it's still there. I clicked on the title and click on delete and nothing happens.  If I click on the three dots next to the title of the song and choose "Remove from my library" he says that the song will be hidden from iTunes purchases.  I don't want to remove it from the entire library of music, just my playlist.  And I've checked and double-checked to make sure I'm on my specified playlist.

I'm sure this is a simple solution, but I just don't get it tonight.

Thanks in advance.

I suspect that you see a reading list smart ("gear" icon in the sidebar) or playlist folder.  In the first case, you modify the content of a selection by changing its membership rules; in the second, you will need to select a regular playlist (icon "music notes") contained in the folder.  Have you subscribed to Apple music and/or iTunes game?  I don't see an option 'Remove my library' when clicking on the selection button next to a song name - just "Delete" (which will always trigger the process to remove the song from the library, not to remove it in a playlist).

  • Deletion of albums of my iTunes library also removes the songs from these albums of my playlists

Hello! I wonder if there is a way to delete albums of my iTunes library without removing songs from these albums of my playlists.

I take my playlists seriously enough (because I know others do too) and would not that they be tampered with. The songs I have in them that I'm here for a reason and a lot of these songs are single whole albums I've saved in my iTunes library. I just recently the desire to clean my library because he got rather crowded with reckless decisions, but I can't do it until I have a solution. I'm glad that I remembered that this might affect my playlists before any serious damage was done.

No, you cannot delete an album on iTunes and at the same time not delete tracks. You could potentially change the details of the track so that less albums appear in the library, but I'm reluctant to even suggest that he. Data are always more easily thrown only recovered later.

  • I have about 14 000 songs in my library, about 4 copies of each of them. Try to remove duplicates, but can only do one at a time. I spent many hours, check all the files I want to delete only to find out that I can't delete them both?

I have about 14 000 songs in my iTunes library, but really there are only about a quarter as much because there are so many duplicates. I don't know how they got there in the first place, and try to remove them is infuriating! I have already spent several hours going by checking all the files I want to remove (thinking that I would delete then all files at once) - only to find out that I still have to delete them one at a time. There must be a better way! Help, please.

If you don't know that you want to delete all checked the songs in your library:

    • Create a new smart playlist with the following rules:

This will show then checked all the songs in your library.
    • Select all the items in this playlist (Ctrl-A)
    • Hold the SHIFT key and press DELETE - follow the prompts to remove songs from your library and (if necessary) your PC media files

In case of problem, you must back up your library before you do just in case the results are not what you expect - see tips to the user of turingtest2 on your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy to backup library for a suitable and recommended method.

There is no 'simple' way to reliably remove duplicates from a library, but see the intelligence in this threadon the use of a scripted for removal of duplicates (for example).

Long-term, try and avoid adding anything in your iTunes library that already exists in it - that's how arise the duplicates (unlike an opinion apparently dispersed, iTunes not of is duplicate anything in normal operation).  I've seen several comments suggesting here a few users to correctly copy their library from an old computer to a new one and then add the content of its media files - guaranteed way to finish with a copy of database entries or media files.

  • How to remove a song from my library, but not from the playlist?

    Hello

I know this question has been asked before. But as far as I don't know in conjunction with Apple music.

Since there is a way in music from Apple to add a song only to a playlist, not the library, I was wondering if there is a way to remove a song from my library and not from the playlist?

    Is it possible to do?

All the songs on playlists and in my library are Apple music.

I tried to export a playlist in XML format, and then deleting the songs in my library, and then import the XML file.

Unfortunately this does not work because iTunes can't find the songs in Apple's music even though he had only songs from Apple's music in the playlist before.

I'd hate to have to create all my playlists once more just to empty my library.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Removed songs come back to play later for Albums and Playlists

Do not use Apple music streaming and use and iPhone installed 6 10.0.2. When I remove a song from the list of reading/PlayNext later when playing an album or a playlist and skip to the next track or press and break even playing on the current song, the song that I removed back in the list where he was. This started only after 10 updated iOS.

For songs that I have manually in Play/NextPlay later, they reappear when I remove them. For albums that I have manually, add the behavior still occurs.

Applying music to quit smoking and to turn on/off the phone do not help. I'm going to assume, it's a bug, but just in case where it is not I thought I would ask if anyone has a solution.

I saw something on the Internet...

If you disable the repetition, you will be able to organize your songs and your removed songs on up to the next will not reappear. I know it's boring, how to remove a whole list of songs to reappear again when a song is ignored.

    Try disabling the repetition.

  • Missing option to switch the display/music of the song from the Album or playlist without the sidebar

Problem I see now is that in my music, from the Album view we will tell song reviews, the only possible way is by activating the sidebar. Same thing if I want to see my playlists. I never needed to activate the sidebar to make this appeal.

Same for the television shows, by default, they appear listed by episode and not show or kind, again, if I want to switch the view now I have to activate the sidebar.

Clues will be appreciated if I could be missing something...

I agree with you.  I know, there was a lot of noise around the latest design, but I loved. I spend 95 percent of my time in the album view and 60% of the recently added.  I found the old, almost full screen view album with recent on top to be perfect!

I can live with the sidebar, but it seems old-school. What I would love are some filters/translucent navigation that could be invoked quickly and get out of the road. Why are we stuck with the menus, side bars and drop-down lists in 2016?  Why are filtering, display and sort so often confused in a strange and inflexible way in music from Apple apps?

I want to spend the songs in a playlist to another. It seems, that you can´t move the songs, but you can add them to other playlists. After that, I have to remove it from the previous list.

Song ghost Vista Windows Media Player 11 error

I have Windows Media Player 11 on a laptop Toshiba with Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 on it, and I have a problem with that I can not resolve at all. There's a song that is on my reading list that does not even exist. He has no title, author or album. No size file and it does not even exist on my computer at all. No matter how I try I can not remove it from the selection. I know that I can not uninstall and reinstall WMP11 from my system it is a program integrated with no option to do so, but because of this I see also very troublesome that a reinstall is the only thing I can think of now to remove it.

If anyone has any suggests how to uninstall this "ghost song", I'd be happy to try.

    Hi ClawMacKain,

This problem occurs because the Windows Media Player library database is corrupted.

To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. click onStart, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then clickOK.

2 Select all the files in the folder, and then clickdelete on the file menu.
Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    3. restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. click onStart, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then clickOK.
