Remove the service

I'm trying to remove the webaccess of all ESXi hosts.  Vmware-vim-cmd proxysvc/remove_service ' / ' command 'httpsWithRedirect' work by the KB, but I'm looking for a simple to use powercli command that will reach out and hit all of my systems.  I don't see a cmdlet Remove-VMHostService so I am at a loss.  Any help is appreciated to grealty.

Craig

No, there is no such cmdlet.

But you can use the cmdlets Stop-VMHostService and Set-VMHostService .

Something like that

Get-VMHost | Get-VMHostService | where {$_.Key -eq "vmware-webAccess"} | `Stop-VMHostService -Confirm:$false | `Set-VMHostService -Policy "Off" -Confirm:$false

First the vSphere Web Access service is stopped, and then the service policy is set to 'Off', which means that this service is not started after the next reboot.

  • How to remove the Service to intercept

    Hello

When I tried to restart the Service intercept of the Services.msc, I got this error:

«The service did not demand launch or timely control»

Then I reinstalled the Catridge DotNet on the server to check if the Service "intercept" is started. Unfortunately, I'm unable to start the service and may see the following errors when I try to delete the Service to intercept:

Error 1058: The Service cannot be started because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated.

I tried to 'underhardware profile' in Intecept Service-> properties-> connection-> hardware profile and also tried setting the Startup type to 'Automatic' in the general tab, but it still does not work.

I tried to remove the service, even by using the command line using the following command:

    SC delete Service intercept

It is to throw an error ' the specified Service does not exist as an installed Service'.

Please suggest me why I am unable to remove the service, as well as the possible troubleshooting steps to remove the service.

The executable creates a registry key on the computer on which it is run that blocks or unlocks (according to the used command line option) the provision of a Service Pack to that computer through Windows Update. The key used is HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate.

When the ' / ' B is used to command line option, the name of the value of the key 'DoNotAllowSP' is created and its value to 1. This value blocks delivery of a Service Pack to the computer through automatic updates or Windows Update.

When the ' / U' command line option is used, the previously created registry value that temporarily blocked the delivery of a Service Pack to the computer through automatic updates or Windows Update is removed. If the value does not exist on the computer on which it is running, no action is taken.

  • Difficulty to remove the door of Pavilion g6-1d11dx laptop

I saw the online service manual, and it says to remove the battery, loosen the two captive screws that fix the door to the computer. I did it. Then I'm supposed to be able to remove the service door. It's not going to.  Then I watched a video for a newer model, and he says to slide the battery release while removing the service door. I did it, push the release of the battery more than all the way, but the back door still won't come out.

Here is the service manual for your laptop: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03094202.pdf

Is there some kind of trick to go out this door?

Moreover, the screws, but they don't come out. I guess that's why they are called "live captive."

The reason why I need to open the door: to replace the memory. There may have been a problem of overheating that caused memory to go bad, I'm guessing, but not sure about that. Which would affect opening the back door? I guess overheating, because when I do the memory diagnostic when the computer first starts, it goes. But if I do 10 or 15 minutes later, she fails.

    Hello:

It is simply difficult to lift the door.

  • is it safe to remove the old windows updates

Is it safe to remove the old updates in Windows Vista?

    Generally, no.

You can use the program compcln.exe to remove the Service pack files and to perpetuate a service pack, as described here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=2592038

    This program is in C:\Windows\System32

You can uninstall the updates that have been replaced by a later update, but I don't know of an easy way to identify them. I don't think that in doing so, there is a great advantage.

If you uninstall an update that is still necessary, he will be released the next time that WIndows Update is running.

  • What is normal for the backup of XP SP3 and the startup type of the removable storage service?

I was getting ready to plan and attempt a clean full backup for tonight.  I have the backups created on several entities, currently backup but have a very stable system at the moment and wanted to try to make a clean backup file.  That day has finally arrived after been forced a corrupted system files hard drive failure "repair" critical and forced me to go back to SP1a (my Windows Genuine valid CD which I highly appreciate) in order to obtain any boot system, including safe mode and console mode.  Repair has presented many incompatibilities at the level of program and system, including the basic WMI and COM of the corruption system.  Three months later... it of time to update my backups and recovery procedures and hope that this does not happen!

In preparation, I decided to refresh my memory on the use of the backup and by browsing the Help and Support Service Center files.  One of the first things I noticed was "storage removable service must be started for the backup works correctly."  Audit and inspection of my existing Services using computer (Local) management, I have observed that after a normal windows startup, the removable storage service is not started with manual startup type.  I use a USB drive connected as my backup media, and it is fully operational as a normally formatted NTFS data disk volume.  I have windows indexing disabled on this volume.  Is the type of service required removable storage of normal manual started?  The backup program will automatically start this service?  I know I've never manually started it myself and backups seem to work well.  Should we change the startup type to automatic?

    -Thanks, Jerry

I would like to leave as a textbook.

The Service will start (if capable) as soon as ntbackup.exe begins.

If you want to see, with your Services window related to the function of RS place and it will not work and the manual.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Ntbackup.exe

Click OK to start the backup and the Restore Wizard.

Go back to your Services window and press F5 to refresh and SR Service should now work.

When you exit the backup and the Restore Wizard, the RS Service stops (it may take a few minutes), and you may need to close the Services applet and reopen it to notice she's moved to manual and not running.

You will see things like present to the event system log viewer:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Service Control Manager
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 7036
The removable storage service entered the running state.

(this is when you go out the backup and the Restore Wizard and wait a few minutes... then the Service stops itself...)

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Service Control Manager
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 7036
    Description:
The removable storage service entered the stopped state.

It's like aid and assistance...  Most of the people (including the technical support engineers who are hired by Microsoft) say to set the Startup Type to automatic, but you don't have to...  Set it to manual and it will start fine when he needs start (if he can).

There is no need for these Services (and many other Services in XP) as starting at each restart and run all day without doing anything.

Here is a good list that will help you understand your XP Services:

    Thank you for your response.

I'm working on it, I think I found my problem.  These computers are part of an area in which I do not.  They will be removed from the field in a few weeks as they are separate from this company.  The area has some group policy settings that limit to me logged on as a local administrator.  I think I'll have to wait until computers were removed from the field to solve this problem.

    Hello

End-users objects exist generally in the administration server > data management (note the fxm and fxv nodes)

but they may exist in other places (according to what dashboard they appear on).

The caution would be to open a support case and support check that right objects are deleted in the right place in the data tree.

    Hope this helps
