What is normal for the backup of XP SP3 and the startup type of the removable storage service?

I was getting ready to plan and attempt a clean full backup for tonight.  I have the backups created on several entities, currently backup but have a very stable system at the moment and wanted to try to make a clean backup file.  That day has finally arrived after been forced a corrupted system files hard drive failure "repair" critical and forced me to go back to SP1a (my Windows Genuine valid CD which I highly appreciate) in order to obtain any boot system, including safe mode and console mode.  Repair has presented many incompatibilities at the level of program and system, including the basic WMI and COM of the corruption system.  Three months later... it of time to update my backups and recovery procedures and hope that this does not happen!

In preparation, I decided to refresh my memory on the use of the backup and by browsing the Help and Support Service Center files.  One of the first things I noticed was "storage removable service must be started for the backup works correctly."  Audit and inspection of my existing Services using computer (Local) management, I have observed that after a normal windows startup, the removable storage service is not started with manual startup type.  I use a USB drive connected as my backup media, and it is fully operational as a normally formatted NTFS data disk volume.  I have windows indexing disabled on this volume.  Is the type of service required removable storage of normal manual started?  The backup program will automatically start this service?  I know I've never manually started it myself and backups seem to work well.  Should we change the startup type to automatic?

-Thanks, Jerry

I would like to leave as a textbook.

The Service will start (if capable) as soon as ntbackup.exe begins.

If you want to see, with your Services window related to the function of RS place and it will not work and the manual.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

Ntbackup.exe

Click OK to start the backup and the Restore Wizard.

Go back to your Services window and press F5 to refresh and SR Service should now work.

When you exit the backup and the Restore Wizard, the RS Service stops (it may take a few minutes), and you may need to close the Services applet and reopen it to notice she's moved to manual and not running.

You will see things like present to the event system log viewer:

Event type: Information
Event source: Service Control Manager
Event category: no
Event ID: 7036
The removable storage service entered the running state.

(this is when you go out the backup and the Restore Wizard and wait a few minutes... then the Service stops itself...)

Event type: Information
Event source: Service Control Manager
Event category: no
Event ID: 7036
Description:
The removable storage service entered the stopped state.

It's like aid and assistance...  Most of the people (including the technical support engineers who are hired by Microsoft) say to set the Startup Type to automatic, but you don't have to...  Set it to manual and it will start fine when he needs start (if he can).

There is no need for these Services (and many other Services in XP) as starting at each restart and run all day without doing anything.

Here is a good list that will help you understand your XP Services:

  • What is planned for the presenter?

    Hi all

Now that Adobe seem to be stopping the development of FLASH and focusing on HTML5, what happens then?

According to me, there's a FLASH to HTML5 converter, but it is not ideal and is not completely compatible. Captivate/presenter/FLASH will now become obsolete or are their plans to publish directly to the content of HTML5 using Captivate and presenter?

Is there any point continue to create content in these packets when FLASH looks like its his last breath?

I understand that I cannot understand the situation completely and I'm looking for guarantees!

    Kind regards

    David.

Adobe has NOT stopped the development of Flash. What is fallen, it is with Flash for mobile devices, instead, with the emphasis on the AIR applications for mobile devices and delivery of HTML5 for mobile devices.

Captivate and presenter will become obsolete. But, there are some great resources on the conversion of the Captivate 5.5 to HTML5 for the best mobile service projects. http://blogs.Adobe.com/Captivate/2011/09/HTML5-converter-for-Adobe-Captivate-5-5-is-here.h tml

Chances are that future versions of these two products will have more options for the publication in a mobile friendly way, but we do not know with certainty when it arrives.

Read the actual press release, it is getting more involved in HTML5, but continues to grow Flash to navigate on the PC. http://blogs.Adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/Flash-focus.html

This is probably the most succinct quote from the post:

«Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will focus on allowing developers Flash package native applications with Adobe AIR for all the stores main app.»  Is no longer, we will continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to work with the new configurations of mobile device (chipset, browser, OS version, etc.) following the next version of Flash Player for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook 11.1.  We will of course continue to provide fixed critical bugs and updates security for existing device configurations.  Allow us also our source code licensees continue to work on and release their own implementations. »

I just checked the "turn windows features on or off" and I noticed that the "removable storage management" is turned OFF. I used a hard drive portable USB and flash drives since I have this computer without problem.

  • Optimize the foreign key for the removal of the cascade constraint.

    Hello

    JDeveloper version: 11.1.2.3.0

I saw this blog and found something new to me: http://snag.gy/qI6dY.jpg

Jdeveloper user interface, there is an option to select all tables to select the foreign key and set it for the removal of the waterfall.

My project is deployed on multiple databases. I wonder where this change is registered. None of the project files is modified.

Can I make this change (from limitations to the waterfall) for each database that I use?

Here is the blog where I saw that: http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2013/04/22/master-detail-insertdelete-sample/

I have my object associations optimized for the removal of the waterfall, but without the option above together, I always get constraint violations...

    Concerning

Not sure however if you set the option the DOF looks like

    "EMP_JOB_FK' FOREIGN KEY ('JOB_ID') CONSTRAINT
REFERENCES 'HR '. "" SELECT JOBS "("JOB_ID') WE DELETE CASCADE

If you set the option to cascade for fk Job_id from the employees table.

  • Windows Vista does not recognize the removable storage device

    ISSUE INITIAL 2010-03-03)
    Here's the scenario:
    1. Insert the card compact flash.
2 computer recognizes the removable storage (that is, it is assigned a drive letter and appears in disk management).
    3. use the icon remove the device safely in the taskbar to stop the machine to remove safely.
    4. remove the card compact flash.
    5. Insert the compact flash card.
    6. the computer does not recognize removable storage (that is, it is not assigned a drive letter and does not appear in disk management).

The only way I can get windows to recognize the drive is to restart my computer. How can I get windows recognize the drive without having to reboot?   This problem does not occur with USB flash drives.

    UPDATE (04/03/2010):
I have more information, I hope this helps to reach a solution.

-J' repeated the steps above 1 to 3, with open Device Manager.  In step 3, in the Device Manager window, the icon for the question USB mass storage device becomes the exclamation point in yellow triangle icon.  Check its properties on the tab "General", in the "Device status" box, it says: "Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been established for"safe removal", but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47)  IX this problem, disconnect the device from your computer and then reconnect it.  Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. »
-J' then removed the card and rest of the error state.
-J' I re inserted the card, and rest of the error state.
-J' I then tried to update the driver by accessing the tab "driver", click on "Update driver", click on "Automatically search for an updated driver", and the result was "the best driver for your device is already installed."

I found the solution on this hp web page:
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=bph07910&tmp_task=solveCategory&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=3876397&lang=en#N1074

Basically, it says NOT to use the function "remove the device safely.  Instead, just right-click on the drive in the Solution Explorer, then choose "Eject".  Works perfectly.

    Some excerpts...
"Memory card readers are devices that use the icon remove the device safely in the notification area in the taskbar). Do not click stop in the window, remove the device safely. Doing so can disconnect the card memory reader for Windows. In this case, restart the computer to reset the memory card reader. »
"An alternative to the restart of the computer is to use the option optimize for fast moving functionality in Windows.

  • What to use for the storage media and backup?

What material and components should I buy if I want to automatically back up our three Macs and watch downloaded (NOT continuous) movies on TV?

    Here is our current configuration:

-Computers: (Mac Mini, MBP and Air)

-Router/backup: via TimeCapsule (with our satellite Internet connected to the TimeCapsule via ethernet input)

-Film/storage media: digital WD hard drive

-J' have an Apple TV (3rd generation), but we do not use it... cannot

We currently live in Kenya, where internet speed is not great... so we are unable to stream movies.  Average speed is about 100 Kbps.  Have about 2 TB of movies we watch currently on TV by plugging a portable hard disk into the DVD drive. I know enough that IT is dangerous (e.g. not much!), but need advice on options on a good way to potentially combine these requirements (storage backup and film). Potentially, something like a new RAID drive plugged into a router. RAID drive backups using Time Machine and then also has films on which can be wired (via the USB port? Ethernet to Apple TV 4th Gen to HDMI to TV?) TV to watch movies. Not sure if I need something like Plex media server or something to do, however.

    Thanks much for any help!

I suggest that you consider a dedicated NAS device. An example would be the Synology DS416.

  • Is it normal for a backup catalog LR CC 2015 to substantially reduce the size of the file?

I just noticed that my backup LR CC 2015 declined substantially in size - 2.68 GB on April 22, before the LR 5.7 upgrade, now up to 432 MB may 6. Is this normal? The main catalog on my drive C (37.3 GB) seems to find any image file that I ask instantly, go back up to 2007. So I think that my master catalog is very well after the automatic upgrade. Is the reduction of the size of the backup because it can see my pre - LR CC 2015 backup (made under LR 5.7) in the same backup location and only backup the news since April 22? A kind of differential backup, perhaps? I normally delete old backups and just keep the last two – I'm reluctant to remove a 2.68 GB and rely on a much smaller. Any thoughts on this please?

LR 6 and CC 2015 use ZIP compression. If you look at the Catalog backup file is the extension ".zip". My catalog LR 5 file went from 1.0 GB to 98 MB, or 1/10th the size!

  • What an example for the graphics?

I am trying to create a plug-in that samples the frame under composition and displays information on this subject in another window in a graphical form.

(Something in the sense of the Test Gear of the synthesis of opening, but much more simple.)

Is this possible in a plug-in? Or what I need to do another way?

From what I can work on the SDK Guide software, plug-ins are normally used to change the composition and not to view the output in another window.

    Any ideas?

    Hello antony.

    Yes, it can be done.

There are two types of plugins in AE.

There are 'effects', which are applied to layers and are used to treat the image or sound.

and there is "AEGPs" which are plug-ins generals who can create new operational capabilities to the EA, such as adding commands to menu, or new palettes.

You must base your plug-in on the sample of 'panelator '. (a CEAP)

It creates a dockable panel (a bit like the palette of information), in which you can draw what you want.

who will solve the display part.

now, you need get the image to be processed.

There are several ways for a CEAP to do.

1 take a look at the example of "EMP".

It is a model of external monitor preview plug-ins.

the MyBlit() function is where AE offers the image of the currently displayed buffer model for the plug-in.

(notice that it is registered in the entryPoint() function)

    2. you could say AE to render an element of project (including the comps) and give you the resulting image.

If you ask a framework that already has the AE rendering, if all goes well it will be give you a cached copy and not a new rendering of the thing.

Here is a list of features that might be useful:

    AEGP_GetMostRecentlyUsedComp

    AEGP_RenderAndCheckoutFrame

    AEGP_GetReceiptWorld

so depending on what you're trying to do, any combination of these two techniques should suite your needs.

    :-)
