Removed Dylibs of Tcl/Tk in El Capitan update

Hello

I upgraded a computer to El Capitan and discovered that a bunch of the dylibs used by Tcl/Tk have been removed from their repertoires by the update.  Img package, for example, consists of a bunch of libraries in System/Library/Tcl/8.5/Img1.4.  They have just removed by the update.

Before the update (10.10.5), this directory contained 23 dylibs.  After the update (10.11.5), no dylibs.  You can verify this by checking the directory, or by typing tclsh from the Terminal prompt and try the command package requires Img.  Work before the update, found after the update package.

I tried to chat with a technical support on this issue, but I think the tech support person thought I was talking some downloaded 3 application of part (Tcl/Tk is delivered with all the Mac Out of the box, just like Perl, Python, awk, grep, etc..)  They could only hazard a guess why some files may be missing, in general, a Mac to date.

My question is twofold: first, can anyone confirm that it's not just my machine?  Secondly, how can I present this as a bug report?  I tried to find where to submit it, but I only find options as-live chat with a guy or talking to someone on the phone.  I don't want to chat about it, let me submit it as a bug.

can anyone confirm that it's not just my machine?

It is not only your machine. I don't know if there is never shared in this folder libraries, but there is none now. If they were part of a third-party facility, they would indeed have been removed, because third party software are not allowed in the file system (with a few exceptions.)

I want to present it as a bug.

I doubt that Apple would consider it as a bug. They say that if you need components that are not included in the operating system, you must install a distribution of Tcl/Tk to third party compatible with El Capitan. It installs in the folder root of the library.

The problem is most likely an attempt to update a system malfunction prior it is probably a problem with your computer, not the El Capitan.

    Start by:

Reset the PRAM and NVRAM on your Mac.

MacIntel: Reset of the controller (SMC) system management

Start in Safe Mode , and then re - start normally. It's slower that a normal start, so be patient.

    If you are unable to start;

Reinstall El Capitan without erasing the drive

Please make sure that you back up.

Hello, I wonder if it is possible to restore dashboard stickies after my update to Yosemite for OS X El Capitan 10.11.3. I forgot the El Capitan update for several months I was doing that I had everything backed up at a certain place and I naively ignored the fact that the dashboard has been eliminated in the update to El Capitan. You are using a newer version of El Capitan that the updater contains and so cannot install it.

You can create more free space in C in carrying one of the measures suggested below.

The default allocation for the restoration of the system is 12% on your C partition is more generous.

I have them would be reduced by 700 MB.

Make my computer right click on your icon, and select System Restore.

Place the cursor on your C drive select settings but this time find the slider and drag it to the left until it shows 700 MB and output.

When you get to the settings screen, click on apply and OK and leave.

A flaw that might be useless which is for temporary internet files, especially if you keep no copies on the disk offline.

Setting the default value is 3% of the walk.

Depending on your attitude to copies offline, you could bring it to 1% or 2%.

In Internet Explorer, select Tools, Internet Options, general, temporary Internet files, settings to make the change.

At the same time, look at the number of days, the story stands.

The default allocation for the basket is 10% of the disk.

Change to 5%, which should be enough.

In Windows Explorer hover over your Recycle Bin, right click and select Properties, Global and move the slider from 10% to 5%.

However, try to let you become so complete that if it is complete and you delete a file by mistake it will bypass the Recycle Bin and have gone forever.

If your drive is formatted as NTFS another potential gain arises with your operating system on your C drive.

In the Windows directory of your C partition you will some uninstall files in your Windows folder in general: $NtServicePackUninstall$ and $NtUninstallKB282010$ etc.

These files can be compressed or not compressed.

If compressed text the name of the folder appears in blue.

If not compressed you can compress.

Right-click on each folder and select Properties, general, advanced, and check the box before you compress contents to save disk space.

On the general tab, you can see the winning amount by deducting the size on disk size. File compression is only an option on an NTFS formatted disk partition / partition.

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, system information, Tools, Dr. Watson, and make sure the box in front of "Add to the existing rating" is NOT checked.

This means that the next time that the log is written it will crush rather than adding to the existing file.

The setting of maximum size by default for Event Viewer logs is too big.

Reset the maximum value for each log from 512 KB to 128 KB and set it to crush.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308427/en-us>

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, disk cleanup to empty your trash and delete temporary Internet files.

Also select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, disk cleanup, more Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Take a look in your Applications folder to install OS X El Capitan.app, if you drag to the trash and delete.

Restart your Mac and try the download again.

You have backed up your system to Snow Leopard, you really have to do that if there is no problem

You can always restore to a working system.

Its a big leap then have you prepared, for example, have you checked to see if the third party apps you have

are compatible with El Capitan and updates. You will probably lose iPhoto and Aperture if you have installed them.

You can partition your drive and install a copy of the El Capitan, for the test and start between the two

until you feel able to El Capitan, and then make the leap.

A lot of things to think about.

  • Stop and start problems since 10.11.5 El Capitan update

I had trouble with my MacBook Pro since the last update of El Capitan (10.11.5). It will not stop unless I have press and hold the power button and complete a hard stop. I can't log out my account of the person and access my profile to work. It get hung up a sign out and I have to force close it. In addition, I can't access my account from work early upward.

Does anyone know any troubleshooting I can fill? Or how I can remove the most recent update?

Everyone there knows a way to accelerate this return, in addition to becoming a new mac? Any help would be greatly appreciated. • El capitan update taking 30 mins excess and starting to install. is this just an i5 processor?

I tried to install the last update at el capitan and after the reboot, the screen goes white with just the cursor indicating for 30mins + and waited so he can continue starting.  I waited 17mins first, then tried to turn off and then turn it back on.  He did the same thing again. My machine is a model (October 2015) 27 "recent iMac running a processor i5 and 8 GB Ram

Don't know if it will make a difference, but you can download the update Combo here, Download OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Combo Update and then install. Once the installation program will restart you will get a black screen for a short time, then the Mac should start to a gray screen with the Apple logo and a progress bar, which should show an approximate count.

Make sure that your Mac has enough free space, 10GBs or more must be fine and also use disk utility

to perform a check on the disk before and after everything settles. If she needs repaired, you start in your recovery Partition and disk utility.
