Rename a hyperlink in e-mail

How can we do that in Thunderbird, in order to shorten a long hyperlink?

You need to work in HTML. You can set the default HTML composition in account settings, or hold the SHIFT key while clicking on write/reply/forward to switch from plain text to HTML.

You can always just type the link with Insert hand | HTML and enter something like:

"< a href ="https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1037645?fpa=1"< click here < /a >."

Or you can use Insert | Link which offers areas of text to the address of the link and the text to display, as well as other parameters.

  • Hyperlinks in e-mail messages

By chance, I installed Chrome when I installed Google Earth.  I uninstalled Chrome but since I have been unable to use hyperlinks in e-mail messages.  When I toast on a link I get the message "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.  Contact youir system administrator. "There is no system administrator unless its me because it was such a personal computer in my home office.  Somewhere deep in the bowels of Vista, I know that there a checkbox or something similar to remove this restriction but where... I do not know.  I am currently using MS Office Outlook 2007 and IE 8 with Vista SP2.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Try this registry Fix by Doug Knox that restores default associations for htm/html files on this page (it works on Vista):

    http://www.dougknox.com/XP/file_assoc.htm

    Direct download:

    HTM/HTML Associations

    • Unzip it to your desktop and double click on run (you will need to approve the warning & UAC prompt)
    • You should receive a message that says that the information has been correctly added to the registry.

    I hope this works!

  • I use Firefox 32 and OSX 10.7.5 suddenly hyperlinks in the Mail won't open in Firefox - it climbs to Firefox but nothing opens.

I'm sure that I used hyperlinks in the Mac Mail program since I upgraded to Firefox 32. A few days ago, when I clicked on a link in an email, it goes to Firefox but no new tab with a web page opens. If I close Firefox, then toast on the link in mail, Firefox opens with the desired web page. I checked that Firefox is my default browser. I opened in safe mode. I have reset default Firefox. I tried the links from multiple messages. Nothing changes this problem. I have not downloaded additional software since the upgrade to Firefox 32. I'm puzzled.

OK, after reset once again the default browsers (turns off and back on) and restarted my computer, the problem seems to have resolved itself. Thank you.

You can not.  If it is a hyperlink, then it will highlight.

  • How to 'Submit' = send a w / hyperlink vs e-mail with attachment?

-an email, including a copy of the file of the form as an attachment

    ?

You can add hyperlinks to an e-mail message created in Acrobat. You can add the URL

    like plain text, though.

In addition, the sending of an email without the file as an attachment is possible in

Acrobat, not in the drive. Use app.mailMsg () to do this.

My guess is your Internet Explorer or browser by default, does not all faults. This is usually the case.

Start button > Default Programs > set your default programs > column to the left, click on your browser by default > it doesn't say "this program has all its defaults"?
If not, click on choose by default for this program > put checkmarks on all entries in the list > click Save

  • InDesign 2014 E-mail hyperlink does not work when the interactive pdf is displayed in a tab in the browser

When we create an interactive pdf in inDesign CC 2014, the e-mail link does not time the 'topic' and 'to' when the client opens in a browser view. Works fine when downloaded and opened in Acrobat, but most customers will use the browser method. How does one solve this problem when making the PDF, or, how does one prevent the PDF to open in a browser? There was once a "prevents the opening in the browser" in earlier versions of Acrobat, but it isn't here in xi Acrobat. Thank you, in advance!

You can solve by the PDF, that so fine because in Acrobat, then the link is OK. You also can not prevent to open in the browser, because the browser manages how to open a PDF file. PDF included browser readers can be turned off or there are (probably) settings always open the PDF file in an external application (Adobe Reader, etc.).

However, I also create PDF files of in Indesign (although non-interactive ones), which include hyperlinks for e-mail, and put it on our Web site. If I use Chrome and click any PDF link, it opens in the browser and hovering over an e-mail address reveals the mailto: link (subject not included, is not serious in any way) and a click opens my mail client. Works perfectly.

Can you provide a link to one of your PDF files online for testing?

  • e-mail links, pdf, and word no longer work to connect to this Web page, although they work in Internet Explorer.

I think that I've recently updated firefox, in any case, I do demand. Only in the last few days, I can do no longer hyperlinks work in mail, word or pdf documents. I have to cut and paste the url. I tried to do the reset in respect of troubleshooting, but it did not work. I tried to adjust the network connection auto detect, but which did not set it. Can I get links hypertext to work with internet explorer, I guess it's something with firefox. I'm not a computer user particularly savy, so clear instructions would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you. Not sure what worked... but it works now. So, it was very helpful.

  • The value of 2016 Outlook as default e-mail client... Does not!

    Hi all

New user for os x here

Please can someone help me - I want to configure outlook 2016 as the default mail client, so that when I click a hyperlink for e-mail, the outlook client open, rather than the mail client.

I tried to go into the mail client and select Outlook as a client by default, but then when I close the window after you make the change, if I open it again, the new option is preselected in the 'mail '... So it is not confirming the change.

    Any ideas?

    Seriously frustrating!

    Thank you
    Alan.

Well, the mail is my default on my MBA, but I tested and found the same thing you did. But I found a work around that can work for you. In the letter the ability to switch the default email clients also has a last option: select. Choose who and when the file picker appears go to Outlook and select it. Close the preferences panel, then reopen it. Outlook needs to always be selected. At least it was for me. In fact, I had to do the same thing to get my default back to Mail.
