Hyperlinks in Windows Mail

I'm trying to stop Windows Mail to automatically highlighting the links and email addresses. It's actually for my signature mail - I didn't want those underlined links, but I can't find how to change the settings to automatically stop stressing. Help, please. He drives me crazy.

You can not.  If it is a hyperlink, then it will highlight.

My guess is your Internet Explorer or browser by default, does not all faults. This is usually the case.

Start button > Default Programs > set your default programs > column to the left, click on your browser by default > it doesn't say "this program has all its defaults"?
If not, click on choose by default for this program > put checkmarks on all entries in the list > click Save

  • Windows Mail does not allow me to open hyperlinks in emails

    IE8 and Vista running

Upon receipt of mail that contains a hyperlink to another site I can't open the link without having to copy and paste it into my browser manually. This has happened for a few months now, but I'm afraid I can't isolate when precisely, or more precisely to any 'event '. There is no error message displayed, but a small Solution Explorer box pops up saying "Application not found".

Someone has ideas on the "why and extend ' and possibly a solution to this annoying problem?"

    Any help gratefully received!

After the fact: I got Windows Live Mail loaded on my computer but decided to uninstall it because I didn't want Messenger but I do not remember if this event has caused this problem.

Check the IE8 and Windows Mail if they have any defects.

    IE8:
Start > default programs > set your default programs > click on Internet Explorer. He said "this program has all its defaults"?
If not, click on 'Choose defaults for this program' > check on all the entries in the list > click SAVE
If Yes, click on Windows Mail. Check its values default same method as above. Don't forget to click SAVE.

FYI: You didn't have to uninstall Windows Live Mail, simply because you don't like the Messenger. If you were watching when you installed Windows Live Mail, you would have saw that Messenger and other programs are offered to you. Meaning, they are optional. You should take any of them.
Ask around before you uninstall Windows Live Mail, someone would have told you that you could simply uninstall Messenger and keep what you want.

OP: E-mail links don't work do not

I use windows mail to my email address. now every time I click on a link in my email it opens with microsoft word. so say for example it iswww.yahoo.com in the e-mail & I click it, it opens with microsoft word only read a file, instead of going Internet yahoo.com PLEASE HELP

    Hello CrystalSkye45,

    1. have you checked if Windows Mail is set a default program on your computer?

    2. were you able to open the hyperlinks before with Windows Mail?

    3. who is your provider of mail service?

    4. are you able to do work when you copy and paste the web address?

the problem can be caused if the incorrect file association on your computer. I suggest that you set Windows Mail as the default program on your computer and check if you are able to open the hyperlinks.

    1. open Set Program Access and Computer Defaults by clicking the Start button, click default programs, and then clicking set program access and computer by default.

    2. in the absence of programs, you can select Internet Explorer as default for http and https files and set by default.

You can see the bottom of the article for more information on this:

  • 'Unspecified error' box appears when I click a hyperlink in a message in Windows Mail.

Cannot open any hypertext link contained in an e-mail message when you use Windows Mail. But if I connect to Hotmail individually, they do not work. So it must be something in the email configuration. But what?

Try to go in the Panel. Default programs | Associate a file type or Protocol with a program.  Then page down for protocols and find the HTTP and HTTPS protocols and define Internet Explorer by default.  See if that helps.

I can receive and open the email, but when I click on anything in the email a box comes up which says "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set associations Control Panel. Don't know what to do. Any help would be great.

Sorry, there just no option in this forum for the widows of mail... windows vista Home premium.

    [Original title: windows mail problem]

... when I click on anything in the email is a box that says "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action...".

    Everything is a bit wide.

Assuming that you are talking about the first, (re-) represent Internet Explorer as default browser by clicking on the Start button then clicking default programs. Select set your default programs, and then Internet Explorer in the left page and click the Green Summit.

To ensure that all users of the computer doesn't have the same problem, login Windows with an administrator account and return to the default programs page. This time, select set access and the computer program defaults.

    1. Select custom , and then click the chevrons pointing to extend the selection.
    2. Under choose a default browser, select Internet Explorer.
    3. For other browsers you use, select enable access to this program .
    4. Click OK, and then restart the computer.

Now try to click a link in an e-mail. If it still does not work, please describe in detail what is happening, including the full text of the error message.

  • Windows Mail-> Thunderbird. Online help does not program. How to import?

I'm trying to take the Thunderbird (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-thunderbird#w_switching-from-windows-mail-or-windows-live-mail-to-thunderbird) online for converting Windows Mail to Thunderbird (no Live Mail). I'm at the stage of import. The instructions say:

"In Thunderbird, go to tools | ImportExport | Import all messages from a directory. Also to its subdirectories. »

Under Tools, there is import, but no footage. When the import option is selected, it does not allow a directory location, only what to import (Eveything, Mail, Contacts, etc.). When choose "Import all" and pressing 'Next' nothing is on the list to import. The button 'Next' does nothing and the Cancel button cancels the entire import.

Can you explain (or point to an article accurate and up-to-date on) how to import all messages (including local mailboxes and the structures of files kept intact).

    Thank you.

In the first paragraph of the section "Import Windows Mail Messages", it says you need to download and install the ImportExportTools add-on - we. Once installed, the relevant menu options will appear in TB.

  • import from windows mail emails from a broken vista pc

My 32 bit Vista computer died - power, card mother etc. I have Acronis Disk full backups on a daily and external drive Acronis cloud of my files 'user '. What I don't have is a Windows Mail systems working group to export my old emails. When I run Thunderbird, are there emails in any way I can get these old backup, even if it means going from one place to another to get them.
As a temporary measure, I am now on a Windows 7 64-bit system.
If someone can help, but needs more information, let me know.
    Thank you.

If your drag / drop off the mail will find themselves in some folder you \drop in.

A better solution would be to use the add-on from the import export tools if you have several nested folders as it will import a folder and the subfolders. The add-on will recreate your folder structure. It you choose to import the messages in a folder and its subfolders.

  • E-mail client reset to Windows Mail from Office Outlook on installation of the latter: How can I do this?

I recently installed MS Office and of course Outlook has been installed too. • Stop the background color printing on e-mail using Windows Mail

I have asked this question before and was advised. [When I tried to find the answer, I got:' bughttps://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=683139 683139]-using the ' high contrast black ""Accessibility Option"Win XP results in the colors of the screen printing", I discovered there was no such bug by this number. Now I think that somewhere in Mozilla there is a simple and complete answer that would solve the problem that I, and several others are apparently seen. So, here is again - when I get and want to print it, the background color that I have on my Windows Mail page prints also. That I don't want. I want to email to print with no background color to everything to save on color ink. It is not flattering that I get an email from my background color is printed when I print the email. So, I need to know how to prevent that from happening?

Another thread is here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/912736 - why did you mark it as resolved and then start another thread?

    https://Bugzilla.Mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=683139

This bug exists and a fix we talked until the discussion has been hijacked. Not yet fixed, so turn off the high contrast in Windows text looks like the way to avoid this issue for now. Or use another browser to print from Windows Mail for now.

  • Windows mail problem

Hello guys. I have windows vista Home premium 32-bit, such as Kaspersky Internet Security antivirus. I do not know "why windows mail does not open.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

Read this post on the support of Microsoft Answers forum:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-windows_programs/Windows-Mail-cant-be-opened-a-software-restriction/ca9af678-54bf-4a38-84fd-66c757865e1a

If all goes well, the proposed registry tweak would do the trick.

If you need a software email client for home or small office use, I also recommend that you consult Mozilla's Thunderbird:

This is the free and open source, very popular and reliable program.
