Rename clip on ingest problem - name of rehearsals

I'm experimenting with metadata from ingest with Prelude 3.1.  If I ingest a clip and then delete my project AND then he eats again, the name of the element repeats the name above and on each time that I swallowed again. The name should be:

Mold preparation THE iron pour 002 - LW0194

But after ingestion of third, I get this name:

Mold preparation THE iron pour 004 - mold preparation THE iron for 003 - mold preparation THE iron for 002 - LW0194

I have files ' deleted all the Cache "in preferences, trying to get it to stop, but it continues. I started on a new project of prelude. I even tried to ingest the clip again WITHOUT change of name and it still uses the old name twice. Here's my project file after having ingested WITHOUT change of name. I have ingested the same clip again and a new clip (LW0195).

prelude-rename.png

How can I "reset" the name so I can control the names of clip? I swallowed more than 100 clips that have repetitions in the name so I need to fix this.

Running OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks) and Prelude 3.1.

Thank you!

HI -.

Weird happens certainly something for you - sorry about that.

There are a number of issues that I have on how you have configured your ingest preferences - perhaps too many to be effectively listed here. If you have a few minutes, I would like to chat with you live on the phone. I am located on the West coast of the United States - where are you located? I can set up a conference call for us at a convenient time for you.

A quick suggestion - you can use the metadata Panel of prelude to clear the text in the 'Title' field to your clips. This should prevent prelude to 'know' or 'Add' the previous file names on ingest to move forward. Here are the steps that might help in the short term, so that understand us what happened in general:

1. Select a clip already ingested in your project

2. open the metadata Panel (WINDOW-> METADATA menu control)

3. find the 'Title' field (it's in the "Dublin Core" metadata section. You can also simply search "Title" directly in the metadata Panel to find as well)

4 clear the text in this field

NOTE: You can select multiple clips for STEP 1 above and clear the text from the TITLE for all files at once

Now delete all files in your project of prelude and re - ingest them (you don't need to copy them again through ingestion - you can simply ingest them by reference - using their current location.) To achieve this UNCHECK the option "Transfer the Clips to Destination" in the dialog box ingest.

I hope this helps out. If you want to chat live, please send me an email with the details of your time zone and some times it works for you. My email address is [email protected].

Kind regards

Michael Goshey

  • Is there a better way to rename multiple clips on ingest?

    I am new to the prelude and the journal entry and transfer in FCP7.

    I want to be able to put / output and the name of all my clips individually, each with a unique name, for example: WS_tilt_man walks down the street. With that name appear in my BONES is essential when it comes to my clips to archive and reuse of shots in several projects. I tried the function "Rename the file", but it is quite slow because I have to re - open the window of acquisition after each clip is ingested. It's laborious, when I have clips 50 or more that I want to log/transfer.

    Is there a better way to rename multiple clips on ingest?

    Hi Caleb,

    You can rename all of the files at the time of ingestion of only.

    Select Rename and add a preset. Also check the transfer of Clips to Destination and select any main destination path where all the clips with their new names/rename would be transferred.

    Check the following picture. I hope it helps.

    Thanks for mentioning if there is no confusion.

  • Server ingest problem: "403: Forbidden cannot update Tracker dgraph." message

    Hi, I am trying to ingest some records in a short data field. I think that the content and the url of the request are ok, because they have already worked.

    When I launch the HTTP request, the server response is:

  • Update i-movie terrible!  Cannot remove rejected Clips.  Create and name the project issues.

    Someone has any idea how to remove rejected in the new update to i-movie clips?   Very difficult now to create new projects and name them.  Never wearing a name for the project.  Project tab does not.  Go to the projects through the tab of the window, and then go from there to the area of projects.   There is that an i-movie update just gets worse every time, and for the worse.   I don't think that people never updates actually use the product.

    See if that helps. (1) to remove the clip selection rejected rejected in the context menu above the media window. Right-click and choose Remove. (2) to create a new project click on project button on the top left of the window. In the projects list that appears click on create new and pick the movie. When the editing window opens it will say my default movie. Click the projects button again and you will be asked to name the film. You can also go ahead and edit your film add clips, etc. and if you share, you will also get an option to rename. At any time, you can go to the project and in this window button rename a project. I don't know what you mean by project tab does not. If you want to say, it does not appear or is not functional then launch iMovie, hold down the command and option and choose to delete the preferences. See if that fixes the project tab.

  • Renaming files on OSX problem

    I hope someone can help me with this problem fairly quickly. It seems to be pretty simple, just that I'm missing something fundamental here.

    Here is my code to iterate through some layers (in the to lyrs), dupe the document, filling in the active layer and save as PNG.

    // Hide all layers, then loop thru them, trim/crop and save to disk
    for (var i in lyrs){

        // Set active layer and duplicate doc
        activeDocument.activeLayer = lyrs[i];
        activeDocument.duplicate();

        // Turn on layer/set visibility
        activeDocument.activeLayer.visible = true;
        if (activeDocument.activeLayer.parent != activeDocument){
            activeDocument.activeLayer.parent.visible = true;
        }

        // Trim to layer bounds, export file, close duped doc, etc...
        activeDocument.trim(TrimType.TRANSPARENT, true, true, true, true);
        file = File( filePath + "//temp.png" ); // setting temp name
        activeDocument.exportDocument( new File(file), ExportType.SAVEFORWEB, pngOptions );
        activeDocument.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);

        // Fix path if last character isn't a front or backslash
        if ( !((filePath.match(/.$/) == "/") || (filePath.match(/.$/) == "\\")) ){
            filePath = filePath += "\\";
        }

        // Two errors here!
        // Windows: File.rename() doesn't overwrite existing file
        // OSX: File.rename() doesn't take place at all - so for each iteration in the loop we only write out the temp file
        alert("2) renaming: \n" + file + "\nTO:\n" + filePath + lyrs[i].name + ".png"); // Confirms correct paths!
        file.rename(filePath + lyrs[i].name + ".png"); // Avoids the hyphens -error with Safe for Web

        activeDocument.activeLayer.visible = false;
    }

    The problem is when I try to rename. OSX happens, even if the paths seem to be right (I checked with alerts) and I do not understand why that this code works very well under Windows.
    The second question that I spotted at least windows (prob even on OSX) is that File.rename () does not work if the file already exists. Y at - there no flag without papers or something that can allow him to do? Or do I have to check for the file and delete it manually? (does not seem necessary!)

    Help is appreciated!

    A problem has been resolved:
    File.Rename () works differently on OSX - you must provide the name of the file ONLY. Provide a complete path will not work.

    Number two still needs fixing. I still have the problem with rename() works only if the file exists.

    Looks like you used a mac to transfer your files. Files with the _____. in the file name are your mac or iPod can 'find' the file. These are empty files and should be removed from any device non - pod.

    If you are looking for here on the forum, or on the web in general, you will find more discussion on this phenomenon. There is even an exclusively written application to remove these. I don't remember the name of it at the moment, but you can find it if search you.

  • Rename presets with the file name

    Hi guys,.

    I currently using presets to change my image but the name is so angry, he does not follow any order naming, just a total mess. I am using a batch program rename to rename this (filename), then import it to lightroom and realize that the name has not changed.

    "I Googled it and look like I need to change the ' title = ' with the text editor to change the name in lightroom. But I will have hundreds of presets and cannot change each of them manually more (past 4 hours to change the name of the file).

    Are these anyway that I can change the name of the fastest presets? Any program that correspond to the "title =" with the file name?

    Thank you

    User presets, click with the right button on the preset in the develop module, and then choose Rename.

    Batch renaming presets of in Lightroom is not possible.

  • Does space empty between the video clips a synchronization problem in first?

    In the past, when I wanted a second or two of black space between video clips, I just leave the empty space, which fell to black on each side of the gap.

    Can only cause audio/video sync issues? Can I actually save some black frames and fill these gaps?

    I just loaded a video on Youtube, and it gives me an error message I could have synchronization problems.

    Thank you

    From my experience, empty spaces will not cause any problem whatsoever.  Done it for more than a decade in every version of Premiere Pro.

  • How to rename my Lightrom CC catalog name

    I install Lightroom CC and my Lightroom 5 catalog has been upgraded to a CC version. I want the Lightroom 5 - 2.lrcat catalog and rename Catalogue.lrcat CC with Lightroom. and 5 Lightroom catalog-2 previews to Lightroom Catalog Preveiws.lrdata CC

    can I safely do this?

    There are 4 other files of the upgrade in my catalog folder

    an end in the lock, an end to the journal

    an import temporary data.db

    a temporary importation data .db-journal

    These 4 files can be deleted

    Thanks for the help

    The lock file is generated every time that Lightroom is open. It is a file that depends on the catalog. When you close Lightroom, this lock file will be deleted automatically. In my view, that temporary files were used during the conversion of your Lightroom 5 catalog. I just deleted those two files on my computer and everything works fine. You can rename your catalog that you want to name. Then just double-click on it to get Lightroom to open the catalogue with its new name. Then, you can start the normal way Lightroom. You might find that rename the catalog causes this file to lose its icon, I did. But it still works fine.

  • Novice question - shortening and then recording the smallest Clip under a new name

    Brand new - is there an easy way to take a video file, I imported and set a new starting point and the end point, and then save it under a new name? The subject of my video requires a camera to film for a few minutes, but I only get action for 10 seconds.  I want to quickly preview the throughout the video and make shorter copies and then begin to work with them on the timeline.  So, is there an easy way to shorten a MP4 for example and then save it in the shorter size before you begin to import in the chronology and the PP?

    Thank you

    If you have a lot of work like this, where you need subitems in the sections named for specific purposes, you might consider using prelude, as it is designed expressly for this workflow. You can view clips, starting points, then tell him what you want to call and where to put it... and it will transcode your 'new' clip anywhere you want. There are a few programs out there 'in the wild' that can supposedly some formats and lop off just before & after an area chosen without re-encoding, but I don't know anything about this other that they exist.

  • Clip of Label and name not automatically update in the timeline panel

    I just finished a major project, so now that he has the time to take the plunge and upgrade first. So far, it's fine, but the clip labels and names only are not automatically updated in the timeline panel when I change into the bin. Is this something that only works on new projects (rather than old projects updated in this new version)? Or...?

    Go to the menu file > Project Settings > general, and when the component of the project opens, check the box 'display name of project items and label color for all instances.

  • Script to rename the virtual computer by name DNS listed in VC

    I am very new to powershell, and I tried to understand this by using pieces of code I found, but nothing helped.

    I'm looking for a script to take the given DNS host name for a virtual machine listed in VCenter and rename the virtual computer.

    For example.

    Host01VM01 (as shown in Vcenter) - the DNS name of the "something.xyz.com".   VM and rename it "something.xyz.com" in Vcenter.

    To run the script only for a group called "Mycluster" you can do:

    Get-Cluster "My Cluster" | Get-VM | `
    Where-Object { $_.Guest.HostName } | `
    ForEach-Object { Set-VM -VM $_ -Name $_.Guest.HostName -Confirm:$false }

    This script will only work for VMS that have installed VMware tools and probably only for VM which are turned on.
