Rendering limits Web viewer

I'm trying to discover the limits of the "renditions" of the web viewer. I realized a Folio that has an overlay on ever page content drop down, hot spots, galleries etc but it will not create a shared web when rendering via a social link in the application of development, what it produces is the message "this article is not currently available for this device." (under Google Chrome Mac desktop). However, I produced a folio of test that have complicated overlays and just copy and images which creates a shared Viewer web when rendering via a social link by e-mail.

I guess there are limits to what the web viewer can show, that's why the simple folio displays and complicated folio is not.

Just for reference bot folios have been implemented (I checked double) in the same way and they are all free, no dose two or protected.

Make sure that you reports not protected articles. See the help article through Social sharing for more details on this and the limits of web viewer.

Creative cloud / customers unique edition do not have access to the web viewer at all, so the function of rendering single web viewer is not applicable.

  • Web Viewer: Best practices and Limitations

The opportunity to share our publication online via a web viewer is an asset to have. However, I noticed some blockages in two folios, we have made available online: videos suddenly stop playing; slow scrolling pages are not completely accessible to see; interactivity does not work in different browsers. I wonder if there is any documentation or advice to ensure a smoother experience across all display options.

    Hello

Thanks for the additional details. We look at the issues you reported and have a few comments.

Here are a few quick notes for each of the elements.

    -Video suddenly stop playing.

We had a new web viewer updated today, and this seems to have solved the problem with the video stopping on this article.

    http://ContentViewer.Adobe.com/s/Airman%20Magazine/c31b3f6bf51348f280a8bf8e57d33ee4/2013-0 6/7%20SUMMITS%20SIDEBAR.html

In this article, there is a play button placed inside the OSM. ASM has been put to play as a slide show and the loop. It was originally an interaction with the video that caused it close. We have made some changes to the way video MSOs interact in this latest version, and that avoids this problem.

Yet, in this case, apparently not necessary to use the DSO or even a button. For videos full screen like this, you can simply create the video overlay on the image of the button. With videos full screen, the area of overlay that you define behaves like a button "play" without you having to add explicitly one.

-Scroll effect slow pages are not completely accessible for display

We have also looked at this article and are able to reproduce the problem. As we develop a solution, we will work to get to a workaround to help you avoid this problem. We'll post here when we have some suggestions for you.

-Interactivity does not work properly in different browsers

We have experienced some problems with certain types of content in Internet Explorer. We are working on some improvements to help reduce these.

I will address the two items that you referenced separately.

    -Multi-state objects does not properly

There are some limitations with IE when it comes to the way it handles the interaction events. In this case, the layout of the content can be slightly adjusted to avoid this problem. I noticed that the positioning of several ESM is a little bit off.

For example, the "VISUALS4" MSO is supposed to appear on the fourth page (index of the #3 page). However, if you look carefully at the InDesign file, you will see at the top of the OSM superimposed on the previous page of two pixels. As layering begins on the previous page, this is how it is rendered. Most modern browsers can handle this correctly, but it affects the stacking order in a way that causes a problem with IE.

If you move all WHO the problem a few pixels to make sure that the upper part of the WHO is aligned with the top of the page, it should work properly in Internet Explorer.

-Overlay of the play button has somehow to only changed the blue outline

In reviewing the file folio for the article, it shows that the two States for the MSO play button use the same image.

    http://CDN-ContentViewer.Adobe.com/v/88e59469-94d0-4D3B-95cb-595c7d3a7944/7%20SUMMITS%20SI DEBAR/1/OverlayResources/InDesign_BNDLR_RSRC29936-633919858/Multi-state%2010_State%202_205 11_Content_L.png

I don't know what the behavior planned for this MSO. It is configured as a slide-show mode that loops between the two States, once it is clicked. Because the OSM will be covered by the video full screen, which is the desired effect? Please explain what you want to achieve and we can provide suggestions.

    -No support for overlays

On some browsers, including some versions of Internet Explorer, we support all interactive overlays. The screenshot you posted seems to be an overlay of imageSequence. This special overlay is not supported on some versions of Internet Explorer.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or encounter other problems. We will do our utmost to help.

  • Is it possible to see a sample of the upcoming web viewer in action at the moment?

Is it possible to see a sample of the upcoming web viewer in action at the moment?

We hope to provide limited access to the web viewer end of November, which would be enabled by Adobe and not self-service in the dashboard. It will support all items HTML and InDesign raster (not PDF) at that time. If we can provide this access, we will post a message in the forums.

Support for PDF, InDesign, as well as the possibility to activate a web viewer in the dashboard, is the end of the year.

  • Articles protected being shared to web viewer

I encountered a problem with the items protected in an internal enterprise V31 being totally shareable with email application (it's the only option of sharing within the app). In the last few items protected were not able to be shared and not able to consider if the target of the navigation in web viewer. Is there something I need to do differently to prevent all items in public like that? Now, the only way I can control what is shared is by creating a unique rendering of the folio web viewer.

DPS does not block an article protected app link sharing. The "block" is when a user receives a protected article sharing link. If the receiving user has no right to view the corresponding article, they will see a paywall - in this case, the mobile app both within the Web Viewer. If the receiving user has the right to view this article by clicking the shared link displays the article.

You mentioned that the protected article was "totally shareable with email" - can provide you more details re: what you see on the part of email? Are images or text being included?

It is also important to note that if the parent folio is 'Free', the items inside will be also treated as such and not considered protected.

  • How to include Web only in the custom web viewer

Hi, I have published "renditions" folio iPad being incorporated in a web viewer customized on the website of the company. I created a Web rendering only in order that it appears in the web viewer custom, but rendering of the iPad, it's what always incorporates. It seems that the Web don't watch on the Adobe viewer welcomed Web, not the company site. Is there a different URL to the Web only folio I should use? Where can I find that? Thank you.

Hi, have confirmed the account where you created a web only rendering has the URL hosting on the Administration page accounts? I wonder if he this interpretation was created using a separate account. In case you haven't seen the devnet article on the web viewer configuring integrated, it's here.

  • styles personalized Web viewer

Is it possible to replace the frame Viewer CSS styles?

The Viewer offers a limited set of customizations for when you embed the web viewer on your website. You can customize the CSS styles for the curtain covering the viewer while it's charging.

Other CSS customizations in the viewer are not possible.

I understand that if you share your free content via your iOS app it can be viewed in a browser (with a few features missing like hitting swiping images.)

    My question is this...

I have a business account... A person buy the magazine and finds the whole magazine through a desktop computer with the DPS Web Viewer? Or its just limited to free content on your web browser, but they must have an iPad to view all mag?  They get full access to the desktop so they buy.

My client publish folio free and retail, and we want to understand how to use the Web Viewer via links (url) or through more traditional campaign vehicles. He wants to send a message to Facebook/Twitter like this:

We have published this publication ipad 'XXXXX '! Please get a glimpse of some article here (link to web viewer).

And then buy it on iTunes Store!

So I have a few questions:

    (1) folio free ipad are visible in the web viewer with no limitation (it's ok).

    (2) free folio - Viewer web only - which never launched an iPad app and use only the web viewer. (it's ok).

    (3) the problem is the folio of detail, try to think of this structure:

In a folio detail (as you describe in #3), users who click or press the link can see all folios free and none of the folios protected (unless they have right). They will be able to view the items counter, but only until they reach the threshold that specifies the editor. After that, the rest of the items are protected by a paywall.

This applies to both built-in web viewers. However, with a web viewer integrated, you can give right to users to connect and consult the content that they have right to.

  • Web Viewer stettings

    Hi guys!

I'm working on the adobe web site display and I wanted to know if I can change its size.

I use an iPad version of 768 x 1024 and when it appears on a computer screen is too big and I need to scroll down to see the bottom of the Viewer.

Can I change size of spectator in the source code or do I need to publish a new format with a smaller size.

    Kind regards

    Franck shoe

    Edit: 2 screens

    What I have:

    Capture d’écran 2013-10-08 à 11.58.16.png

    What I need:

    Capture d’écran 2013-10-08 à 11.58.27.png

I have to zoom out to 75% in my browser for my last sreenshot

If you really want a smaller dimension, you can create a new rendition with any dimension you want.

In Folio Producer, there is a checkbox called 'web viewer only', which will force the renderer to use for the Web Viewer regardless of their size. It will also block this interpretation to be picked up by Aboriginal viewers.

This allows publishers to create renditions customized targeting the web viewer only.

Folio in producer Folio name field MUST be the same between your normal and web viewer for them to be related refunds.

  • Default orientation of Web Viewer

    Hey everybody,

I work the web viewer and I would default to the orientation of the folio double portrait orientation. There are different content in each direction, with the main content in orientation portrait.

I don't see anything in the documentation for orientation by default or clues in the code.

    Thank you

    -Scott

Unfortunately, you cannot change the default orientation in the web viewer. It is on the roadmap for a future version. A possible workaround is to publish a Web Viewer rendered only folio portrait only.

  • Ad Mob in a Web view?

    Hello

I want some ads on my AIR apps playbook, the only way I could think to do was to have a web site discovers with a banner of admob in it. Has anyone tried this or something similar?

Some people have trouble using AdMob ads in anything other than the native implementations provided by Google.  They prohibit accounts with sites that seem to be the mobile web because they no longer allow that.

Another option would be to use the HTML-based banners, where the network does not care where they are shown.  I used LeadBolt with good success, given their advertising banners are pure HTML/Javascript.

I just did a quick video tutorial on creating a HTML upward in a Web view using LeadBolt.  Should be portable anywhere, you can load html...

"I want to make the request and build BB JRE 4.7.

    No you don't really have.

    And you shouldn't, because:

    (a) as much as I know there is no performer 4.7 devices that cannot be upgraded to 5.0

    (b) the proportion of 4.7 devices autour is very small, so it is a small market

    (c) there is a lot of work

    (d) the results are not as good

    (e) a person on this forum will be able to help you.

RIM do not support the OS 4.7 for WebView, so if nothing else has convinced you, it must give the impression that you should not try to develop for OS 4.7.

Really should have said that it is just my opinion...
