RenderMode 'GPU' working on Playbook?

Specifying gpu has an effect on the Playbook, or it is simply ignored?

The GPU rendering mode certainly has an effect.  Depending on the application, it could make a difference in performance.  However, many limitations, and the fact that it can be extremely buggy in some ways.  Many of us have tried games fairly simple and experienced problems with some parts of the GUI from time to time endangered.

    Hi all

I tested with performance on iOS and test the rendermode GPU problems.

In the descriptor file I can put automatic rendermode or CPU without problem, but when I use the GPU, the travel demand to the top and the bottom left and scales a little. So the part of the top and left are outside the screen and below and to the right of the application there is a lot of empty space.

I am using Flash builder 4.5, 4.5.1 SDK (so AIR 2.7 as well or not?)

THA app is very basic: 15 drawn bitmaps based on a world of Box2D with circleShapes and the accelerometer as gravity and works very well in all rendermodes. Just the step size and position is upwards in gpu rendermode.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

This is a known problem and workarounds are not be full screen, use CPU or AIR 2.6.

  • Any chance of getting Java BB OS 6.0 app works on playbook?

I am a new developer is working on my first application.  My client wants to submit an application before the deadline (March 31) to get a playbook for free.  The app is almost completed (version 1.0 in any case). There is a chance that I could have done in the 31st, but it is written in Java for the 9800 smartphone running Blackberry OS 6.0.

    (1) my understanding is that the free Tablet to develop an app for the tablet.  Write an application for smartphone is not eligible.  Is this correct?

    (2) I don't think that the Java for OS 6.0 application will run on the tablet.  Is that also correct?

    Bigfoot,

    (1) you are right, you must write an application for the Playbook tablet to qualify for a free.

    (2) it is not quite correct (see the link below for reference). RIM has announced that they will support Blackberry Java apps via a downloadable application drive. Unfortunately, I do not think that they announced at the same time this system would become available, and it would certainly not before the break.

  • Weather app not working in Playbook

    Hello world

When I try to run weather app in the simulator of torch blackberry that it works correctly but the same code when I'm playbook Simulator is show an http error do not, do not take any city name. Can anyone suggest me something.

    Regards Jean René

The current version of the sample Weather app is for the WebWorks SDK for Smartphone.  It contains a feature that is currently supported by the SDK WebWorks for PlayBook (uses some API).  That's why you can see errors in there.

We plan to update these samples to make them compatible with the two software development kits.  Meanwhile, a valuable learning exercise can explore what this example components do and do not work on the PlayBook.  Will help to develop a better understanding of the work of the Weather application.

    See you soon,.

  • LR6 Module Development: is my GPU work properly? Color 'flash' and "Live Preview rendering Time" feels long.

I don't know why, but in the Module development in LR6, it feels like excerpts Live are not comparable to those of the speed I expected now with GPU acceleration.

    See what happens:

-I click on the thumbnail of the photo

-The large preview appears, slightly desaturated and "fuzzy".

-a "Flash of Color" appears (the appropriate color saturation appears)

-then a strong image (in short, as opposed to a soft extract)

Overall, a process about 4 seconds each time.

    Is this normal?

    I don't understand why.

There are problems with the GPU. The first thing I would suggest you try is to performance tab in your Lightroom preferences and uncheck the box and see if that makes a difference. It has cleared up problems for many other users. The GPU acceleration seems to be a work in progress at this stage.

  • How to do only the AMD GPU works on Satellite L50-B-11J?

    Hello

I just got a laptop Toshiba L50 - 11j B, and I installed Windows 7 64 bit on it. After you have installed all the drivers, I noticed that timke start-up and the overall performance is pretty slow. I wonder how just AMD graphics card work and totally disable onboard Intel one.

As far as I now only thing you can do is to add the application in AMD catalyst control center.
Right mouse click on the desktop and open option configure switchable Graphics.

Have you ever tried this option?

  • Y410P Nvidia GPU works only when plugged in?

    Hi all

I know that this is a frequently asked question, and I also knew that the Nvidia GPU raised only when an application heavy 3D graphics is charged.

This is the case. But I don't get a bad 3D rating (1 star or higher) during the game.

I have configured the program updated Nvidia 3D well on a level of high performance battery. The notification bar of Nvidia is also show that the game is loaded using the Nvidia GPU.

On the other hand, when the laptop is plugged in, I get a better mark 3D on the same game. How is that possible?

It is not comfortable, due to the fact that I need to plug the laptop when I want to play the game to get the best performance.

    All solutions? Thanks in advance.

Regardless of the number of parameters of high performance you activate, you will never get the same set of battery power that you can get plugged.

The battery can not simply support the GPU for the amount of power he needs to play games. At best, you can play a mediocre performance.

  • Z500 GPU works is not in performance of power high/Maximum after the spill of Milo

    Hello world!

Ask anyone advice/assistance on the issue of my laptop. I have Lenovo z500 with GT650m GPU 4 days years ago my cousin accidentally spilled her glass full of Milo on my laptop, fortunately I was able to remove the battery on time and everything dry up after that 24 hours he was already up and running again but I have a problem with the games I usually do listen on average FPS. Before the spill, I was playing Final Fantasy 14 with FPS on average around 45-60, once I start the game I felt the fan pick up speed, power and starts to heat up. After the spill, it seems that the dedicated GPU is not used I only get around 15-19 FPS on average.

Settings, control panel NVIDIA to power management is already Maximum power Powerformance, power management is also at its peak. I hope someone can help

Sorry, but you need to take your laptop to a technician or a lenovo for detailed service center check.

I don't think that anyone here can recommend an action plan to address your laptop after a spill of liquid. Milo can be sticky and may have formed a layer under the keyboard or if liquid has been spilled into the motherboard, it's a matter of time that the other components start to fail.

HP G62 b13SL, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430 (1 GB of DDR3 memory) and Intel 64 MB side.

During the game, Mafia II, for example, I have to do everything to low quality to be able to play, and this happens for many other great games. For 1 GB video card, I think it is unacceptable.

Y at - it all the parameters that I need to do?

My drivers are up to date, I use the ATI GPU, I just do not know what to do...

    Hello

Ability memory GPU does not define how smooth games race. What is important is the type of gpu and cpu you have.

HD5430 is an input low power graphics card. It is not intended to play games in high resolution and level of detail.

  • "slog2info" will work for Playbook

    Hello

I used 'slog2info' see debug information for BB10. But when installed OS Playbook 2.1.0 NDK, I can't use the same way to see debugging information. The erros of SSH:

    $ slog2info
sh: slog2info: cannot execute - No such file or directory

What is a unique problem for me or a general problem for everyone? Thank you.

The PlayBook would not have it yet, BB10 only. If you try to use the same code base on both platforms (for now, until the arrival on the PlayBook of BB10) you probably need to write yourself an extra layer to abstract the differences.

Dear users of Adobe After Effects,

A while ago I found a .dll file that was allowed to use my GPU (GTX 980 Ti) for Adobe 3D Ray Tracing.

But I lost it, someone has it this file for me? If you are not able to share it here, add me on Skype please; Showtec1998.

No! Sorry, I didn't explain it very well. You don't want to compress twice. H.264 should never be used as your last step!

Render queue rendering AE CC 2014 as an intermediate file. It would be something like Cineform, DNxHD QuickTime with QuickTime PNG codec with the Photo-JPEG codec, or something similar. Basically, you want a lossless (or near lossless) file of EI.

Then you take this file without loss in Adobe Media Encoder to create your deliverables.

    BramvanOosterhout wrote:

How can I get off at AE CC 2014? It won't be problem with files openeing CC CC 2014 2015?

You're not really the decommissioning. You simply install one old version side by side.

This page explains how: How to find and install previous Version of Adobe Apps in CC 2015

    BramvanOosterhout wrote:

(My biggest problem is the use of the CPU, I want it to be 100% effective).

Never, you might be able to do that, regardless of what you have. AE is notoriously difficult to play this way. There will be bottlenecks in places that you don't even think to look at sometimes. In the current state of EI, some things are just threaded single no matter what you do. Thus, a kernel will be cranking away while others are quite inactive. Or RAM can be maximally. Or the hard drive could not be send data fast enough...

I have two nVidia graphics cards (3 GB of memory each) in an SLI configuration.  In the spirit of doing something cool and asking even more, I wonder if the new feature of performance in LR CC can enjoy two cards.  For the option "Use graphics processor", a single card is listed.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8-1214: GPU EVGA GTX 750TI will work with my HPE h8-1214

Hello. I plan to update my graphics card soon. Accoring to this, I have a card Mother Angelica. I read another post here of a user having a h8-1230 with a card Mother Angelica Revision2 , who said the EVGA GTX 750TI was inconsistent with this Council, and that he should look for a version of the 750TI MSI instead.

I was wondering if the same applies to my PC because my model is older that the other user has been. I prefer to use the EVGA GPU version, as it is cheaper than the MSI one, but I need to know if it will work with my computer. If not, will the labour card ASUS model, or should it be MSI? The map I intend to buy is present (EVGA) or this (ASUS).

In addition to this, does anyone know if the stock fans and 300W power supply provided with this computer would be appropriate for the new card, or not? I'm looking forward already pass the power supply, but I don't know for the fans. If I were to upgrade the PSU, 430W would be enough, or should I go with 500W? Thank you.

If anyone in the future who might wonder, I had this GPU works on my computer, but I had to buy a specific version of the map and the way I got it to work was pretty weird.

You need to buy this version MSI of the card, because the card itself has a switch on to change the UEFI to Jack supported BIOS Legacy. As far as I know, other versions of this card are UEFI only, and this computer does not support UEFI, so he needs a card that can run in the traditional way. It may look like a fit snug in the case, but it does not seem to cause problems and it cools very well with fans.

I also changed to a block of power SUPPLY Corsair 430W, which seems more than enough for the system, even with the card to load max. You could go to a higher power, if you consider the upgrade of several pieces, or reuse the power supply in a more powerful system later. I have not upgraded fans in the computer and do not seem to have cooling problems.

    Now to make it work...

    I had some questions:

When I first turned on the computer, it froze on the screen of the POST (the first screen with the HP logo). It would allow me to get into the BIOS, and it would beep 4 times (with long breaks between the two), before finally to a black screen with a cursor blinking and just stay there.

What finally got it to work:

I disconnected all the instructors of the map (cables VGA, DVI or HDMI), and then I turned on the computer. Without any monitor plugged, the computer should beep 6 times (the power button LED flashing with it), then the power led turns off. The LED went off as soon as I plugged my monitor into the computer (in my case, I used a VGA cord).

For the first few seconds, the screen remained blank and does not save a connection. The computer is beeping intermittently for a while, then after about a minute my detected monitor suddenly a signal, and the screen displays the Windows splash screen. I was able to boot into Windows, all right, even if the resolution of the screen will be a little goofy, until you install the drivers.

I jumped in the driver installation CD, and once it finished installing, I restarted the computer. Now, when it restarted, I had to do the same procedure I mentioned above so that he could start again. Now that the drivers are installed, I don't know if I'll have to do this procedure everytime I restart the computer (don't have not shut down since then), but since I rarely shut down my computer, it's worth it to me.

Hope this helps someone else, because I know that I spent 10 hours searching for ideas before discovering this solution myself.

Now that it is running, I have problems and I have run several graphics intensive games on it without any problem with cooling or power draw. It is very quiet, too. Even with a game running on high quality graphics, I can barely hear the fans when there is no other sound in the room.
