reopen tabs

Hello

Before I updated to the latest version of FireFox, tabs that I left open reappear when I run FireFox again, but for some reason when I reopen FireFox it this time 1 single tab showing the FireFox start page shows.

I can look through the history to see where I was until I close FireFox, but last used tabs are displayed when you open FireFox re was a practical option for me.

I checked to see if the internet plugins (flash, java, etc.) are the latest version and all later.

Miss me probably something obvious, but the objects of curiosity to know if anyone has experienced the same problem.

I use Windows 10 x 64

Thank you

Did you check the start setting?

  • Options/preferences of-> General-> start: 'startup of Firefox:
"Show my windows and tabs from last time '.
    "Show my home page".
    'Display a blank page '.

Also check the settings "Clear history of Firefox closing" and make sure that you do not erase browsing history.

  • When you reopen tab, how to make me able to type in the bar of address directly without clicking on it? --(sujet: réinitialisation de la configuration et le module ne fonctionne pas)

    Hi all

Need help on the new tab on Mozilla.

I want to be able to type directly into the address bar every time I open a new tab in Mozilla, without clicking anything whatsoever. To be more clear, this means that whenever I open the new tab, the blinking cursor is already on the address bar.

What is happening now is everytime I open a new tab, the cursor is placed anywhere - not on the search bar on the page, and not on the address bar. I should put the cursor somewhere to do something.

I tried to use the subject: reset config (1) and the custom installation new tab (2), but the two do not work.
When I tried the subject: config reset the reset button has not been highlighted (I assume that means it is by default), and the new custom tab doesn't give a different result.

What confused me, it's 2 days ago, my Mozilla works fine. Whenever I open a new tab, the blinking cursor is in the address bar and I was able to type directly.

I thank you and appreciate the help!

    Note:
    (1) about: config reset:
-Enter about: config in the address bar and press ENTER.
-To avoid the warning, press the big button "I'll be careful, I promise!
-In the search box, paste browser.newtab.url
-In the search results, click browser.newtab.url, and then click Reset.

    (2) add custom reset:
-Install Custom new tab = https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/custom-new-tab/
-Open modules (Ctrl + Shift + A Manager; Mac: Command + shift + A), then the Extensions category.
-Side of new custom tab, click the Options button.
-Set any page you want to open in each new tab (topic: newtab is the value default; about: home is the default home page) and make sure that "Focus in the URL bar" is not checked.

  • Even if the setting is correct, Firefox does not windows and tabs from last time at the reopening?

I have the habit of keeping three firefox windows open at the same time and I've always defined (under the general tab) ' display windows and tabs from last time '. It has stopped working. The setting is the same, but when I close and then reopen firefox, it opens the window only, not the three Windows I closed.

It has already set to reopen tabs, and I have not erased from history. He left the reopening correctly this morning after I let him "verify" a signature on the Toastmasters International website downloading a form of voucher. I am running 8.0.1. He froze and crashed after that I have is allowed only. I have just discovered that I can reopen the tabs by clicking on "restore closed window" and the session I wanted. However the window of before the crash has lost, which means I had to rebuild my list of tabs. Recently closed tabs is grayed out.

You're automatically reopen tabs and windows of the previous session by session restore?

    • Tools > Options > general > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.

Firefox stores cookies used in the tabs that are currently open in the file sessionstore.js as part of the saved session data, so these cookies will be restored if Firefox is closed without first closing of these tabs.

You can set the browser.sessionstore.privacy_level pref 2 (never) or 1 (not HTTPS) on the topic: config page to deactivate the saving of cookies via session restore in the sessionstore.js file.

  • 17.0.1 cookie problems that were not in 16.0.2

It used to be in the previous version 16.0.2, I think now

    go to, who: -

Tools, options, exception was a place I could list all cookies

that I never wanted to see. I could find the cookies that I didn't

opening of 'cookies' and hand put in sources of cookies

    'exceptions' and blocking them.

So I have, by default, would only unlocked for valid cookies

sites on my system. I had a list of about 200 long of the unwanted sites

    sources of blocked cookies.

17.0.1 - bingo my exceptions list went bye and I found

Valid user ID appear on pages where I had not asked, I opened

17.0.1 retain the user name or password.

Then I found (in 17.0.1) that even if I checked the box to delete cookies (acquired by the absence of being able to block then) when I closed 17.0.1 that the tick was canceled by 17.0.1 and cookies remained.

    I want to be held
    (a) have no history
    (b) accept cookies
    (c) create exceptions and block cookes with this list of 'exception' and do not have this exception list deleted when I close 17.0.1
    (d) accept 3rd party cookises and keep them until I'm close 17.0.1
clear e history) but NOT the list of exceptions that I spent the time creating (and I don't know where they were / are stored).

What I see is no way to delete cookies when I left 17.0.1 because, if I check the box cookie in 'Settings' 17.0.1 clears the cookie tick when I close 17.0.1

    Thank you

In case you use "clear history of Firefox closing:

    • do not delete 'Cookies' and 'Site preferences.

Note that compensation "Preferences of Site" delete exceptions for cookies, images, windows pop up, installation of software and passwords.

Generally, there is no need to keep third-party cookies unless you visit Web sites that do not work without it.

Better is to let all the cookies expire when you close Firefox and make an exception to allow for the cookies you want to keep.

Note that if you reopen tabs automatically on a departure (show my windows and tabs from last time) that cookies from these tabs are stored in session data and therefore cannot be removed.

  • Why are cookies not deleted when I close Firefox?

    Hey,.

My problem is that I put Tools / Options / Privacy / history to "Use the custom settings for history", then under "cookies", I put keep up to the: to the "closing of Firefox".

Yet, when I close my browser and restart any of the cookies are deleted. If I register my tabs, I be online on Web sites that are open in the saved tabs. But even if I close the site and then leave. The site, and then reopen after having restarted Firefox, I am always connected. While Firefox is defined do not remember my user name or password, the only way this can happen is through cookies. Therefore, cookies are not deleted. But I can also see it in the list of cookies: it is full of old stuff.

So why are cookies not deleted despite this setting?

Firefox has beeen quite soft on the life private lately, and frankly I do not understand why. The possibility of having more than X days History automatically deleted is also long gone, and now this cookie setting does not, either.

If you reopen tabs automatically next time then Firefox stores cookies from these default tabs as part of session data in the sessionstore.js file.

You can set the browser.sessionstore.privacy_level pref 2 (never) or 1 (not HTTPS) on the topic: config page to disable the registration of cookies via session restore.

The browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred pref is used when you do not reopen last session automatically via "show my windows and tabs from last time" and use the same values.

  • Middle-click opens a new tab instead of reopening the last closed tab.

I have TabMixPlus and it worked fine for years until just now when I Middle click on the bar of tabs instead of reopen the last tab closed it opens a new. I have checked and unchecked the option TabMixPlus but it doesn't seem to change anything. Why it does this?

  • Why tabs open when broswer reopens? Worked fine in previous versions, but given that "Refresh" does not work. Never.

Version 25.0.1 when I close the browser, all my previous tabs have disappeared when I open it again and it goes to the home page of firefox. I have my options set to reopen the previous tabs and I reset it at least 10 times and he won't stay. When I reopen it the browser, I get the firefox homepage, and option has been reset to their default value. This is NOT a function, it is a bug. One of my favorite features of firefox has been that I can have 3 or 4 tabs open, and whenever I restart, I get these exact same tabs without having to click or hunt.

I'm not the only one having this problem, I checked with a few people I know who updated their system to 25.0.1 and they get the same thing.

    Ideas? Please?

Whenever I close Firefox (when I'm leaving for a few days, or when the office closes from one day to the next day for some reason toher) and reopen it, the tabs that I got at the last session (usually calendar Google and Facebook) not open automatically.
