Reorganization of images using Windows Photo Gallery

Hello, I have Windows 7 on my laptop. I recently downloaded the latest version of the Windows Photo Gallery on my machine and he used to edit and organize my photos. I now have lots of photos selected in a file. Then I tried to re - order the photos by dragging individual photos in another post, which would put them out of chronological order. The program wouldn't let me do that, even if I tried the slide show mode. I tried a tab in various screens, but could not come through all that would allow me to do. How is it possible without painstakingly rename each picture?

Thank you
Len
Damn, some more complications. We were on a Holland America Cruise ship recently and I attended seminars put on by the techie edge and we had to use a bunch of machines with Windows 8 on them. There, it was so easy to rearrange photos, put captions, categories etc on them as well as a lot of other interesting things such as Pan photos, photo editing, etc. For me, it's a lot of things Photoshop does than maybe not to the same extent.

Now you have concerned me! I quickly skimmed the link you mentioned, and it seems that the deactivation of the reorganization could cause some problems so I'm hesitant to try it. Especially when you say, "Proceed at your own risk" and "good luck".

Questions arise:

(1) if I go back to the reorganization, all my photos in the photo gallery Windows will return to the agreement prior to the photos or not. It's a real problem if I spend hours reorganization of my photos.
(2) if I turn off the reorganization, it will also affect the pictures in my Gallery of picture-taking.
It may be preferable for me to upgrade to Windows 8, even if I don't have touch capability. Checking online, I see that it will cost about $120 to upgrade to Windows 7. I'm the Canada so there may be a completely different price.
What is your opinion... it's worth it to upgrade? I know that the free sort option is available. Understand there are other improvements too, such a best Windows Live Mail email program. I had thought of before upgrading, but I also remember reading that it will soon be upgrading to Windows 8 (due to some defects or gaps) so if I download the current Windows 8, I could pay for a program that is close to being obsolete.

Thank you for your time.
Len

    Hello martinw56,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

Sorry, you have a problem with that!  Have you tried the steps below with respect to the scanning of a picture with Windows Photo Gallery?  Do you have in the past been able to scan pictures with your current scanner and upload pictures to the photo gallery?

Please let us know status.  Thank you!

Before you begin, make sure that you have installed the scanner to the computer and the scanner is powered.

    1.

Windows Photo Gallery by clicking on the button Start , allprograms, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.

    2.

Click fileand then click import from device scanner or photo.

    3.

In the window import pictures and videos , click the scanner that you want to use, and then click import.

    4.

In the new scan dialog box, click the list of profiles , and then click the picture. The default settings to scan an image appear automatically.

    5.

If you're using a scanner with a document feeder, click the paper size list, and then click the size of the image that you have placed on the scanner or click on the size that is similar to the image.

    6.

Click the color format list, and then click the color format that you want the scanned file to display.

    7.

Click the type of file list, and then click the file type that you want to use to save the scanned file.

    8.

Click the list Resolution (DPI) , and then click the resolution, in dots per inch, that you want to use.

    9.

Adjust the settings for brightness and contrast, or type the values that you want to use.

    10.

To see how the image will appear when it is scanned, click Preview. If necessary, change the scan settings, and then preview the image again. Repeat these steps until you are satisfied with the results of the overview. Some scanners may require that place you the image in the charger whenever you are scanning.

    11.

Click on scan. When the scan is complete, Windows Photo Gallery invites you to mark the image so that it is easier to organize or find later.

    12.

In the list tag these pictures (optional) , type a tag name, and then click import. Windows Photo Gallery displays the picture, so you can view, difficulty or organize.

    BAD WINDOWS PHOTO GALLERY!

    1. I don'thave open other programs

    2. I can see the other images that are saved on my computer

Can someone help me with this problem? I had no trouble using windows photo gallery it any other time so far...

    Hi MsNesha,

What is the exact message you get?

As the message States, it could be used by fotoflexer. A probability is, after you have changed the images that you would not have saved it in fotoflexer.

Close the fotoflexer application after you save the photos and then try to view the photos edited in Windows Live Photo Gallery.

If the problem persists, you can remove (delete) the photos published of fotoflexer and then make a folder and paste and he discovers via the Windows Photo Gallery.

  • Unable to print only one page in a multiple page / image tiff file using Windows Photo Gallery

IT seems that for Windows Vista Photo Gallery is able to display multiple images in a TIFF file format when printing, but it does not select the image to be printed. Whenever I print a tiff image file two pages to print.  Since most of my photos are in TIFF format, and each contains two images one by one another at a reduced resolution and normal resolution I'm only interested in printing the first image and not the second.  I really don't want to convert all my photos in a different format.  Does anyone know if there is a setting to fix this?

    Hi KKosin

Welcome to the Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

    I suggest measures are:

    1. try to print the image in MS Paint, steps to follow:

    i. Click Start, in the search box, type in the paint

II. open the document to print

III. click on print and check

    2. change the format of an image file and check if this problem is still happening. You can change the type of file to the JPEG/JPG format. Steps to follow:

    i. right click on the file type

    II. select Rename

III. the extension .jpg or .jepg replace

IV. and then try to print

A few months ago my Windows Photo Gallery has suddenly stopped working and a pop-up box is came (and is still). The TOP of the box says: WindowsPhotoGallery.exe - bad Image. • I can't open the .jpg files from the desktop using "Windows Photo Gallery" as the default program. They open normally from nowhere elsewhere, but not directly from the desktop. No error, nothing happens.

If I right click 'open with' open with other programs like IE but not "Windows Photo Gallery". It is not a specific .jpg file, this is all .jpg files. For example... I have a .jpg file in a folder on my desktop, open folder double click, it will open in the "Windows Photo Gallery". Copy and paste the SAME file on the desktop, double-click on, nothing happens. I tried to restart, change the default value of IE, open the file, it opens, by default change to "Windows Photo Gallery" doesn't work... I am confused?

    Hello

Welcome to the community of Windows Vista answers.

    Method 1:

This can happen in the database that keeps track of all the photos and videos in your collection is damaged. You can rebuild your database by:

    (1) close Windows Live Photo Gallery

    (2) · Click Start

    (3) · Click on my computer

    (4) · Paste this address into the address field %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Photo Gallery

    (5) · Right-click Pictures.pd5

    (6) click on rename

    (7) · Change the name of the file to OLD_Pictures.pd5

    (8) · Restart the computer and then try to open the Windows Photo Gallery.

    Method 2:
Try using the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to check and repair corrupt system files.  To do this, follow these steps:

    How to run scan SFC

    1. click on the Start button

    2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories

    3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option

    4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option

5 If you have the enabled User Account Control (UAC) you will be asked to consent to the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.

    6. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter

    7. a message is displayed to indicate that "the analysis of the system will start.

    8. be patient because the analysis may take some time

    9. If all of the necessary files any replacement SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue

    10. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.

11 after the scan finished, close the command prompt window reboot the computer and check.
